I have often thought a solution for players who are suspended for accumulation of yellows or a red card, should all be given a two weeks minimum suspension, reduced by a week if they referee as a neutral, a lower grade team. May give them some empathy and an understanding of just how difficult a referees job is.

Good idea, but after ref'ing a friends Cap 11 team a few years ago, I would never ref an adults game that I wasn't officially appointed to - simply not worth the hassle!
Having said that, you can always ask Capital Football to appoint a ref - you may get lucky!
I think suspensions should be harsher for repeat dissent bookings in all grades of football. The first booking could be the standard fine but up the fine for the second and the third can be a week off etc. We want to be serious about stamping it out so we should be proactive about solutions to deter it IMO. It's often the same people who offend in this area. This is coming from someone who has had a fair few bookings, although a lot less in recent seasons and I'm more inclined to be embarrassed when team mates give a ref an earful now.
I definitely think it's worse in the lower grades where there are no official ref's appointed - I've copped more stick reffing the Nighthawks than I have in Cap 2-4.
It's a bit strange, because you'd think more people would have sympathy for the ref's given players will have to pick the whistle up at some stage themselves.
I can't speak for the lower grades but in some of the higher grades it's generally the same players who have a bit to say to the ref. I know it's not a solution for the lower grades without official refs but it's a start.
Were refs given a directive this week about players wearing non colour matched "skins" under their strip? This seemed to even happen down the grades.
I would have thought that they had more to worry about than someone wearing a black polyprop top under a white strip.

Have actually seen orange but think like a lot of the other colours you have to buy them online. Funny enough it is orange tape that apparently Eastbourne have trouble with so are allowed red instead.

At KP today, two players down with head injuries for at least 30-40 secs. All the players from both teams, both benches, most supporters demanding ref stop play. Some things were said "for fudge sake there is two players down with head injuries" = a yellow then "do you know the rules regarding head injuries" = red.
Happened later in the game too, no cards didn't stop play.
After the game ref said he gauged nothing wrong with players so played on. Also didn't let help come from sideline for players down. Wouldn't comment on what exactly was said.

The ball ended up getting kicked out but the ref wanted to play on. Lots of frustration from everyone around the incident and all could have been avoided if he and not been so ignorant about two players down with head knocks!

I remember back in junior football it used to get drummed into us and called up as a free kick whenever we said "Mine" etc.
however looking back I thought that was more of an emphasis so kids learn to call their names, to avoid leaving it to a referees interpretation, as you said.
But I definitely grew up thinking it was an actual rule.
