There are a lot of technology roles worth over 100k, then throw in a few mill for senior management and that median could be pretty close to the national median.
I'm home sick so I watched the game on sky go on the weekend - or at least I tried to. The quality was dreadful and the thing was constantly buffering. I ended up watching the same content on the keepup youtube channel. Much better quality and no buffering.
The interesting thing is I didn't use a VPN or anything, I thought keepup was supposed to be geoblocked, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
Assuming keepup is not geoblocked in NZ for all Phoenix Games, then Sky has a real problem on their hands because not only are they charging for something that is free elsewhere, what they're offering is terrible compared to the free alternative.
I'm not happy. The games and the highlights take forever to be uploaded onto skygo. No one answers my emails or messages either. How can it take 7 hours to upload video?
Upload video?? I watch SKY GO and although there's the odd few minutes of delay here and there, it's been quite good. I have 2 laptops, 2 tablets and our cell phones all sharing my Wifi modem and on Fibre Broadband. I thought it was having 4 or 5 devices that slowed the signal down but I do get the odd delay when watching Footie late at night. Not that much, minute here and there.
On Spark, if you miss kickoff, you can click watch from start. Or you wake up in the morning, you can go straight to the game by clicking on the game. On Skygo, miss kick off or wakeup in the morning you have to wait for Sky to upload the game and/or highlights, which is sometimes done after 9am when the game kicked off at 2am. Poor stuff.

Slight confusion in interpretation here.

no you dont, you can essentially click the play bar at the bottom of the screen and "rewind" 3 hours. Yewah sparks' play from the start is was nice but that's about all they had, they uploaded the replay, on skygoi you can look at the TV guide and set a reminder - go about your day and enjoy. No waiting necessary.
after the 3 hours your options are to locate the replay and watch it later. It's not rocket science, the schedule is up at least a few days in advance.
Huh? How do you rewind something 3 hours when it happened 6 hours ago? I'm no Marty McFly.
The scroll bar at the bottom of your viewer. If it says 'Live", you can scroll back By clicking your mouse anywhere along that red line. Up to 3 hours and watch the game.
Spark: Watch the game when you want. Sky: If it's in the last 3 hours, scroll back without looking at the score. If after 3 hours, wait for a replay or for them to be bothered uploading it.
I know what you mean Vimfuego. This morning I was refreshing SkyGo waiting for the replay for the Liverpool game to pop up. Somewhere around 9-10AM I saw the score and so just watched the highlights they had uploaded earlier. It's annoying but it is what it is.
Spark Sport I suspect it's easier as they aren't recording live TV. The event is it's own recording so the ability to watch it live and watch it from the start are essentially the same process.
It would be great if Sky was better, but it is what it is.
Yea apparently when Paramount+ went down last week, all games were available in Aus on the Keepup page. It seems they realised which countries weren't geoblocked then

You can see that right?
You might have a unique scenario, but surely most Sky customers would get home in that time and be able to watch the game on Mysky.
the skysportnow app is really working well for me and with the black friday deal they are offering at the moment it is even better
SkySportNow works fine, although the 30 sec skip fwd/back is too long you miss bits of game and you have to navigate to it. Spark’s 10 sec skip was great as it was straight from a remote button, one click for throw ins, 3 or 4 for goal kicks corners and free kicks to get through games faster. Watch a 90 minute famd in about 70 minutes.
on skysportnow you can fast forward or rewind as far or as little as you want not sure if this is a new feature but it works fine for me and i can find where i want to be in a game very easily.

This bugs me too, every other app in the world (note: may not be accurate) uses the 10sec time frame, but not Sky. SSN and the horrendous offering that is Neon (owned by SKY) use their own bespoke set of controls. And Neon's is now basically completely broken on the Apple TV.
Sky sport and whoever they get their feed from are a bunch of morons who haven’t got a clue about technology or sports fans. What sort of ignorant fool would think that when you have the technology to view an event retrospectively it is a good idea to show snippets of one live event during a simultaneous live event, totally negating any desire one might have to watch the other event later. Not terribly bright those people.

Assume you're referring to the final round of group games where they are showing goals from the other game happening at the same time. Understand the frustration with it, but when the outcome for the teams in the one you're watching depends on the result in the other game, it's probably not going to be possible to avoid hearing or seeing what's happening in the other one. I notice it only seems to be the Sky Sport 7 feed that show the goals from the other game, but the commentators on the other channel say if there's been a goal and they show the updated standings etc in the other one too. Even if they didn't say anything, everyone at the stadium knows and you'll be able to see from the celebrations of lack thereof what's happened.
This won't be suitable for everyone but I've been mainly watching the one I think is most interesting on the TV (ie, where both teams are still playing for progression) while having the other game on my phone so I can check in every so often, knowing that it's not going to be possible to get through one then watch the other not knowing anything.
Think it's only the 3rd round of group stage games where this happens and there won't be any other rounds with two games going on simultaneously.

it's done this way for every tournament, the fact its an issue for you now would suggets maybe it's a you issue not really a broadcaster issue.
Actually can I just confirm which match (Japan vs Croatia or Morocco vs Spain, or both) as apparently there was a fault in the EPG for Japan vs Croatia which they fixed for Morocco vs Spain - so just checking that is the experience you guys had (if you were someone who recorded the game).

Yes, it was fixed for todays game that also went to penalties
P.S. It is not as bad as what happened with the Womens World Rugby Final (stopped recording after 72 minutes) but I understand you can only go with what TV3 provided for that.
Come March I'd say that that's just about it for me with Sky Sport/Sky Sport Now.
$60 extra a year, or a 12.5% increase for SSN, which is predominantly used by me for football on the weekends, doesn't represent great value for me I'm afraid. So there's that, and the fact that the app just sucks absolute arse. Yeah, no thanks...
**Edit** Also aware that the yearly price amount of $399.99 hasn't changed, but I cancel my subscription in off seasons or when I'm busy with work/other commitments, so still no value in this increase for me...
Time to throw in the towel. Currently paying $105 and that's without the Movies. If I get offered the half price deal, I'd take it but I cannot justify it to the wife with a price increase. Thanks for rewarding my loyalty Sky.

I know this won't be popular but some of the comments on here are suggesting Sky isn't allowed to put the prices up in the face of unprecedented increase in costs (both for rights and for resources, IE wages). you have the right to vote with your wallet but they are a company like any other trying to turn a profit.
