Well the draw's been made and NZ have a very difficult group: Brazil, Mexico and Japan; three exceedingly hard teams whose style of play will be a real test as to whether these girls are, to quote others " the best side NZ have had ".
Expect lots of quick, on the deck passing and movement, and the kind of twisting, dexterious forward play NZ traditionally struggle with...
The good news? The girls avoided Korea, USA and Germany...
I am in japan and organizing a group of kiwis an mates to come along to support the girls in Kobe against Mexico. Anyone else going to any games?
Goalkeeper Lipi got injured in our club game he night. Looks like out for cup which is a huge blow.

Wrong thread! This thread is for the NZ u-17 women ("Young Ferns") whose World Cup is in Azerbaijan from September 22 to October 13.
See this thread instead for the NZ u-20 women whose World Cup kicks off on Sunday (NZT) in Japan:

Is maybe a ittle confusing with the two age-group World Cups in quick succession and NZ playing Mexico in both.

get watching Sky Sport 2 now
Nobody watching? Still a chance while it's 1-0.
I watched 5 mins and switched off. We play like the Solomon Islands did - fucking awful. Paul should stick to trying to copy Jose's fashion cause he certainly can't coach if these girls are an indication. I don't think I saw one pass from our team made with any plan. Just kick aimlessly.
Why do I get a feeling you judge a lot of games based on 5 minutes of play?
Does explain a lot.
But you didn't say I was wrong though...
I didn't say you were right either,so not sure what your point is.
fair bit to work on
