Nice To Michu,  I agree it  it is very difficult to  defend Joe's actions and lodging an appeal makes little sense.

It appears from previous posts that  you are a Lower Hutt player or supporter, and it seems that  you are OK with your team's on the field conduct over the last two seasons?

If not please let us know what your club should be doing about it?

Get on with it. Let the review take it's course. CF will make a decision. Stop Out will focus on the play offs and the football will carry on.

I have seen Wanganui Athletic play a couple times this season, and even without Joe id say Stop out should be too strong for Athletic

I doubt if the appeal is thrown out whether he'll get more than the 11 month sentence? Ala NRL

I spoke to someone last night who told me that it was actually a karori player dressed in a stop out kit with a joe gaughan like haircut.

I can't believe SO have appealed it, I watched the whole thing, all the afters, the language, the abuse, he deserves the punishment in my opinion. I've seen this lad take a piss in a shower before a game when there was an empty toilet barely two feet away, not a very nice person.

Summary of Disciplinary Committee Decision re: Joe Gaughan

Capital Football would like to update clubs re. the incident from the Capital Premier match between Stop Out and Lower Hutt AFC on Saturday, August 9th 2014.

The incident was brought to Capital Football’s attention via the referee’s report on Monday, August 11th and after following standard procedure Capital Football then imposed an 11-month suspension from all football-related activity on Joe Gaughan.

As is their right Stop Out appealed and this was heard on Wednesday 27 August by an appointed independent panel being the Capital Football Disciplinary Committee (CFDC) comprising of Martin Snedden (Chair), Brian Klee and David Meiklejohn.

After considering all of the material, the CFDC made the following observations:

  •  The match was played in a tense and volatile atmosphere with some "over the top" physicality;
  •  Mr Gaughan inflicted a serious physical attack on a Lower Hutt player.
  •  Once ordered from the field, Mr Gaughan delivered a two-fingered salute at the referee;
  •  While leaving the field of play, Mr Gaughan involved himself in an altercation with players on the Lower Hutt bench and acting with enough aggression to be restrained by Stop Out officials.
  •  The misconducts, as viewed by the CFDC, ranged from medium to the extreme end of seriousness.

The Committee acknowledged Mr Gaughan for his timely apology and expression of remorse for the incident.

The CFDC pointed out that Capital Football have continuously reminded clubs to demonstrate appropriate behaviour, both from players and spectators, through various channels from the start of the 2014 season as there is no place in football for behaviour such as this to exist.

The CFDC came to a decision that the 11 month suspension initially proscribed by Capital Football will stand.

Stop Out has a right of appeal to NZ Football.

Yours

Buy anyway, back to the league. Petone v Uni looks to be the game of the round. if stop out don't get promoted, then one of these two clubs will be relegated along with Seaton and Lower Hutt.

Let's be clear here.

First bullet point not correct. Match was played  with tension due to LHC putting up more resistance than the previous game where they were pumped 7-0. LHC went  1-0 up and created  pressure. Stop Out had chances and equalised. Then the drama happened. Players were sent following this and players  remaining resumed playing and credit to them for it.

No further serious incident. One flash point tarnishes the whole game.

Every game should be tense and exciting, that's why we're in it.

Congrats Stop Out for winning the league and good luck with the play offs.

2-2 draw so Uni stay in 7th by a point.

edit - 7th not 6th - Cap Premier is not a 9 team league

Good luck Stop Out in the playoffs, there has been a lot of 'he said, she said' over the last few weeks. It is time to draw a line under the whole incident, the officials have made their decision, I'm sure Joe will accept his punishment...time to move on and concentrate on the football.

What a good day the 13th should be, Hutt Park (the home of football) in the afternoon and then the All Blacks in the evening. The best of luck to Sambo and the boys.

Central League promotion play-off - first leg - Wanganui Athletic 0 Stop Out 4.

Stop Out has another disallowed for?  The ref must know.,

Great first leg performance. 13th September, at 2pm,  at Hutt Park for the second leg.

11 months is light IMO. It was a matter of time before something like this happened, it's a shame cause the guy can play, but from the games I have seen him play (albeit only a handful) I am not at all surprised.

Shame for stop out they will be absolutely knackered without him.

Another poor comment from you horsehead. Have you been involved with Karori for long? You surely have seen 1st hand that Stop Out has way more quality in its side than just one player. Even without the leagues leading scorer they have plenty of goals in them. Its what sets them above the rest of the teams in Cap Prem

Was apparently a high-foot.

Such a shame as it was a spectacular strike.

Against the likes of Seatoun.... Doubt their scoring rate will be remotely like what it has been when they're in Central League.

In 4 games they scored 32 goals, half of their season's total. 9 against Vic (finished 7th), 8 each against Seatoun (10th) and Olympic (5th), and 7 against Lower Hutt (9th).

Attack aside, SO also conceded half the number of goals as Miramar who finished with the next best GA record. Something to be said there

Agree with above, as LH and Petone are the only other CL clubs in the near vicinity, I think they will recruit strongly as there will be players who will want to be playing closer to home.

I'd love to know the current wage bill. Next season's one I'm sure would be considerably larger. Especially to that their reserves are in Cap 2. Makes it hard I would have to attract players.

Gulley is 28 years old and is still 10 times better than some of the poor players playing central league.

Stop Out still havent lost a game without Joe. Micky Malivuk is a  better striker than anyone else in Cap Prem and a lot of Central league strikers. Just another sour grapes comment without any real substance. Pretty standard from you though
