Weak.
I thought it was a GREAT idea from Michaelme!!!
Weak.
I thought it was a GREAT idea from Michaelme!!!
4-0 down at 29mins and my best defender has picked up a yellow so was subbed, also AD Fafe currently 6-0 up against the Whipper Snappers
ended up losing 6-2, AD Fafe won by a massive 8 goals to nil, and Digihomi won 2-0.
This leaves me on 43 points in 11th, AD Fafe on 44 in 10th and Digihomi on 46 in 9th.
I'll need a good win at home against Richmond SS and hopefully a point or better the following match against 6th place Bay of a Few to grasp at 9th (I'll need Digihoi and AD Fafe's results to go my way too).
Ah well, 2 out of 4 goals isn't too bad
An awesome little perriod from 16th to 29th mins which saw it go from 0-0 to 6-0, just excellent.
Massive 2-1 win to leave me right in the box seat for playoff positions. Here's the current scenario:
1 | Ac Oliver | 32 | 22 | 10 | 0 | 77 | 20 | 76 |
2 | Waikato Whippingboys | 32 | 23 | 3 | 6 | 81 | 38 | 72 |
3 | Peow FC | 32 | 22 | 2 | 8 | 52 | 22 | 68 |
4 | LBFC | 32 | 19 | 9 | 4 | 47 | 19 | 66 |
5 | ADO Balclutha | 32 | 19 | 7 | 6 | 75 | 33 | 64 |
Well I had to take the fight to Sky Valley, so went Very Attacking again, 2 early goals to Leilei and a 3-2 win was ours. The battle for Top half has got even closer
# | Club | GP | W | D | L | GF | GA | Pts |
8 | Waterside Melchester | 33 | 13 | 11 | 9 | 64 | 47 | 50 |
9 | Digihomi RSC | 33 | 13 | 10 | 10 | 73 | 50 | 49 |
10 | AD Fafe | 33 | 13 | 8 | 12 | 74 | 58 | 47 |
11 | Los Halcones Locos FC | 33 | 14 | 4 | 15 | 72 | 65 | 46 |
Digihomi vs Woodend (17th)
Hamilton KV (4th) vs AD Fafe
Los Halcones vs Bay of Few (6th)
The games don't play kindly for the Fever teams in the final round, but anything could happen here.
Result Jono! Well done.
Looks like I'll finish 7th or 8th. Happy with that. But conceded far too many goals this year. And only just realized the smiley face doesn't mean they are happy there...
Steam Engine leading the Peow Reserves 0 - 3 away. Stoked with that!
Meanwhile the Trains are 0 -4 up against the Whipper Snappers, with Pat Lewis and Luke Green (both Little Trains youth scheme graduates) combining to assists and goals together on all three of the first three goals.
Into the playoffs, regardless of what happens will be out to get a goalkeeper and a central mid for next season.
Well the season is over and The Trains finished 7th due to the lack of a quality keeper (until the lasy week of the season).
Nevertheless we shoudl snare the golden boot (senior) and golden boot (under 21) and player of the year (senior) and Player of the year (under 21) awards.
I am stoked with the u21 performances out of the youth academy. and with my 16 yr old 5 star potential Goal Keeper, Ed Moir, coming along nicely now I am hoping for great things in the coming seasons. Next priority is youth strikers and a left back replacement for foundation player Lee Bell.

Cards:
My man "Yellow Card", again right up there, with 11
U-21:
Bagg top in goals with 12, Gates third with 6.
Bagg top in assists with 8
Leilei with another excellent League Season with 28 goals in 34 games.
Wilson added 16, Letailleur 10, Vicelich 8 & Gray 7.
Assists were a lot more spread between my support guys: Vicelich 14, Wilson & Gray 11 each, Letailleur 9.
So we're now championship fodder...
Finished third in 3.2, and then won the first playoff against the second place team 2-7, largely thanks to their only DC picking up a second yellow after half an hour when they were leading 2-1. With no CO to bring on a sub to fill the gap, we took full advantage.
Meanwhile, the fourth placed team relegated the championship team 2-1.
And in tonights playoff final, we scored two in the first ten minutes on our way to a 3-0 win.
Will be an interesting championship debut season -- have a bit of cash to strengthen a weak point or two as was the plan for next season, but we're definitely odds-on relegation candidates at the bookies.
Not sure what championship group we'll be in -- if the groups line up, I'd expect 2.1, but the championship team beaten in our playoffs was from 2.4.
Well done Blair.
Turns out I won my championship group. Quite surprised as it looked like I would be struggling for a playoff spot.
The yoyo continues.
Well done chicken man too...
new league starts tonihgt, I've just spent a crap load of cash increasing my stadium capacity - now seats 35000, along with increasing the game day cash takings with merchandise stands etc. still have 39m or so available thanks toi the sale of Barrass - he went for 155m which I must admit I'm a lttle sad about.
Half-time in our first championship game, and its a riveting 0 - 0 against Sky Valley. One injury already. I think Mr Troutman needs to invest in some new strikers, they've had five shots, all off target.
Wow the 3 at the back experiment was a failure first up as we lost 5-2 (Though Leilei & new signing Pink both got goals)
I was trying 3 at the back as my right back Frolov is a 3* DR, but a 3.5* DC, while I already have Syred & Peric as solid DC options. (Syred being a youth product in my first season who has been excellent for the team.
The Trains went down 1 - 0 after 18 minutes, but then goals to Soren Kofeod and Charlie Tree saw a nice 1 - 2 away win to start the season.
My B TEAM WON! After having 0 points last season and conceding 216 goals while scoring just 11, they won!
9 shots on goal, eight on target, the best game of my young keeper's career, and 16 year old mega-prospect Ivan Hyde with the game winning goal.
This is the upset of the season, and it won't be topped.
In future Niall, if you are going to post something like that, could you please post an warning post, then wait 24 hours, and then post the actual post? Just to give us time to adjust, sit down, relax etc. before having to read something that shocking!
Well done whippets!

Only just noticed you have been moved out of our division...into one full of B teams.

THIS! Which team has the honour of being the first to lose to the Whippets?

Having said that, a number of very good teams play 3 at the back, but 3 DCs, and then (often) a DMR and a DML to compliment them.
Steam Engines vs. Halcones juniors tonight.
Meanwhile The Trains went across to Picton in the Interislander last night to prep for their first encounter in 'The Batlle of Cook Strait' with FC Picton.

Nice 7-0 win tonight. Got lots of b teams in my league so might make the playoffs this season
5-0 win, Melddahl with three, that man will go down as my best signing of all time.
Steam Engines won 2 - 4 away at Halcones Juniors (Yuusss!!!).
Trains were halfway across the strait, and there were engine troubles, so the ferry had to return to Wellington. Just as well too, because the game turned out to be at Homebush Road! 3 - 1 win for the Trains.
Giving my 16 year old prospect a run in the first team tonight. He's probably 2 seasons away from being a regular member but with the Whips playing a B team and one of my forwards being out injured I felt it was worth debuting him now - the first of hopefully hundereds of appearances.
Trains away to ANE2 tonight. Felicijonas Dudanec making his debut. We are 8 wins, 2 draw and 2 loses against ANE2. Hoping that continues...
Playing Los Halcones, and they injured my new striker in the first minute...doing it tough now down 1-0
Dudanec scores on his debut...
got a nice 4-0 win tonight but again its against a b team
5-1 win for my lads tonight - not going to crow too much - just quietly this is the season I head out of league 1, got my 'b' team next week.
6-0 win, four from Melddahl, two from Rood. Melddahl is now so close to going at better than a goal a game for the club with 92 goals in 93 games.
