Now The Rams wait for NZ Footy to make ruling on University appeal.
will be a painfull wait for both parties. still, if utd drop points v waimak and uni win their remaining games and get the 3 pts back for the game the unregistered player didnt play. uni will then win the league.
Western PDL were docked 3 pts early in season for playing unregistered player but the points have since been reinstated. If it was 'clerical error' (anyone able to clarify?), is that a clue to uni situation?

Coastal won 2 0 . Nomads drew 2 2 with Nelson after being 2 0 up. Tech beat Waimak 7 0 in Cup.

and Halswell defeated Bays 1 - zip
In the Women's PFL
Halswell 0 Cashmere Tech. 3
University 0 FC Twenty11 1
Western 1 Coastal 7
Points in the PFL at the 2/3 stage - after 14 of 21 games
Cashmere Tech 30, Suburbs 29, Bays 27, Western 25, Halswell 19, Coastal 17, Nomads 12, FC Twenty11 2
despite giving up a 2 goal lead the point that Nomads picked up surely must mean FC will face the drop, ten points adrift with 7 to play.
In Div 1 Selwyn drew 0-0 with the Turtles. Dominated possession but no one finishing cost Selwyn from picking up their first win of the season. (That wind played havoc though)
Hopefully the format works OK but table below shows points each PFL Team has earnt for each completed round so far - Round 1 - 7 and 8 to 14:
Club | 1 - 7 | 8 - 14 | Total |
Cashmere Technical | 14 | 16 | 30 |
Nelson Suburbs | 13 | 16 | 29 |
Ferrymead Bays | 18 | 9 | 27 |
Western | 10 | 15 | 25 |
Halswell United | 9 | 10 | 19 |
Coastal Spirit | 10 | 7 | 17 |
Nomads | 4 | 8 | 12 |
FC Twenty11 | 2 | 0 | 2 |
with five clubs having picked up more points in the 2nd third of the second than the first with Bays Coastal and FC picking up less points.
What will the table look like in at the end of August?
Is the top four already set or can Halswell and Coastal move into the top half of the table?
Looking back on the stats in recent seasons the team that has finished bottom has finished the season with the following points:
2012 ChCh United 12 points, 2011 Nomads 18, 2010 Burnside 14 and 2009 Ferrymead Bays 13
I know a lot of talk recently has been about incidents involving the ref.... well you should have seen the Nomads v Chch Utd PDL game at Tullet Park today.
To say the ref was useless was an understatement.... A Nomads shot 1st half clearly went in after hitting the bar (the net actually bulged!) yet he failed to give it. In addition to that there were some completely random decisions given throughout against both teams.
I was informed that a Referee's Coach who was present actually apologised to both teams after the game for the lack of quality from the ref!
Then a dodgy decision looked to rob Nomads of a win against Nelson... clearly a tackle got the ball in the area, but the ref deemed otherwise, yet in the 1st half Chris Anderson was blocked by the Nelson keeper when certain to score and nothing was given.
Giving them respect though, despite being 2 down at half-time Nelson came out a completely different side after half time and battled back well
PFL games for next Saturday:
Coastal Spirit vs. Western
FC Twenty11 vs. Nelson Suburbs
Halswell vs. Cashmere Technical
Nomads vs. Ferrymead Bays
I hear that Jerry Donga and Gagame Feni are available for Suburbs from now on.
In the Women's PFL
Halswell 0 Cashmere Tech. 3
University 0 FC Twenty11 1
Western 1 Coastal 7

Western 1 Coastal 7
Anybody from Western complaining the pitch is too big at ASB?
Heard Coastal scored two early goals and went on from there. Coastal look to be back to their best, face Cashmere Technical next Saturday at Garrick which could be the title decider.
Other games in the next round FC vs. Western and Halswell vs. University.

Deffo Ash for both. Chants from the sidelines for an "Ash-trick" went unanswered.
Cheers

What drama awaits Mainland Football this week? Surely must be an answer on the Uni points. If they don't get the 3 points back, they're stuffed. Even if they do get the 3, they still need to win all their games and hope that Waimak take points off Utd in their final game.
Here's a question for you all.... Are Senior teams, who have an official referee present, supposed to hand in team cards to the ref and get them signed by the opposition at the end of the game?
Mainland rules state this:
"Section 6: Team Cards
5. Team cards for all divisions/grades after being correctly filled and signed shall
stay with the club unless, (1) there is a dispute regarding the score, (2) player
eligibility or (3) incident. If any of these has occurred the team card has to be in
the hands of Mainland Football within 48 hours of the said game"
Yet there was an incident yesterday in which I know of one team that didn't provide, which makes questioning players eligibility hard when you have nothing to go by.....
What should happen in this situation?Everyone wants the same rules to play by, but some teams don't..... (and we're not talking about Waimak this time :) )

Yep you are correct (Well thats what Ive always done) Ref asks for completed team cards from teams before kick off. At the end of the game both teams sign each others cards - get their own ones back to hold onto incase there is a dispute.

Oh I'm sure they will be very interested in a complaint from the bottom women's league.... They haven't got anything better to do at the moment.

If uni get more than 3 back. Utd will be stuffed. How dark will they be if that happens. couldnt happen to a nicer club.lol
