Gutted for Jesse Ryder there, run out after Guptill drove straight down the wicket and the bowler got a finger on it.

Unbelievably average way of getting out.

Anyone know the price for a days admission at the test? Was thinking of heading down either tomorrow or Sunday.

Just checked as my mate coming from Auckland asked me - $25. No student price, just under 16.

$25!!! For a day? Surely not. What a joke.

yeah, that was my first impression, but then I remembered paying $20 for the rubbish game that is T20 , so just got over it.

Just checked and yeah you're right. 'Kin hell, last time i went it wasn't even $25 for a 5 day pass. Don't know if i can afford to go now tbh.

Expensive... Decent little partnership this, given how terrible that all went.

Standard. When was the last time you went to a test? It's $20 for an adult to go to a domestic T20 game.

Was a bit of a shock for me, was expecting something like $15 with a $50 5 day pass, but apparently even that is $75. A bit crazy, you'd think they would drop the price to get the numbers. Its not like they are relying on their test gate as one of their major revenue streams.

Still going to go, but was considering going to a few days, now will definitely only be going to the day that we are going as a group.

It should be the other way round sometimes I envy Australia. Sometimes.
It's only because the Pakistan series leads into the ODI World Cup. It was originally meant to be two T20s, three Tests and five ODIs but they wanted to put emphasis on preparation for the World Cup.

The article may state that but I haven't read it and cbf.

Last time i went to a test was 5 years ago.

But alas, i am indeed going tomorrow. Cannot wait. Test cricket in the flesh again, love it.

I can almost guarantee it will be more that $25, because it's worth more.

I suspect most people feel the same as you and would rather go for 1-2 days tomorrow and/or Sunday so I'd expect the crowds to be decent for those days.

Meanwhile, the two young ND lads are doing well.

Very well batted Southee to get to 50 playing proper cricket. This is the first time I have been really impressed with him batting. He obviously has a good eye, but give me this innings of patience and aptitude than the slogfest on debut against England.

John Wright in his ear maybe? Southee has always said he wants to be an all rounder but has never seamed to put much thought into his batting. As in he just slogs and chances it.

260/7. I'll take that at the end of the day. Pretty evenly poised right now i'd say. Can't wait for tomorrow.

If you want to get on TV, it has to be something PC and interesting/funny then maybe add a small YF shout-out on the bottom. Would be cool.

Rojas for PM. ?

Whiteboards work well and you can change it up over the day.TopLeft072011-01-07 22:26:54

'Bring back' has given me an idea.

BRING BACK EL GRAP.

I'll think it over tonight. Only have one piece of cardboard that isn't huge, hopefully my mate brings some, no whiteboard unfortunately.

I got my tickets stupidly cheap somehow.

Not sure what I paid at Perth but the face value on each ticket for the bank (no drinking) was $60. I think I probably paid $140. For great seats in Melbourne I paid 185 for 4 days when the face value on each ticket was 60 and in Sydney I paid 185 for side on seats but that was still well below combined face value of the tickets. Unbelievable value. I used www.boystrip.co.nz, either they lost a lot of money or you get much cheaper tickets through a travel company.

f**k today was amazing, just got back from a day at the pub of singing. Also managed to watch the last 3-hours of our game. Great great day!
