F*ck I hate Haddin, Johnson, Ponting and Siddle. All c*cks. The only player i can handle from Aus is Michael Hussey, great player, not a c*cky little cheating, whinging b**tard. Oh and Michael Clarke I can handle. Actually like him. Well England have blown it. They need some energy, some spark! C'Mon England!! (just my 2pence worth hah)

They will. Just like they did at The Oval in 09.

They did it in South Africa too, against a better side.

50th test hundred for Tendulkar. Probably the greatest batsmen ever to grace the game. What an achievement.

I think it is a fantastic accomplishment. He is a great player, but again it comes down to an opinion.
The stats still say Don Bradman was the best.
Even I'm to young to remember.

I think Bradman had 29, but he only played about a third that Tendulkar has,

Bradman only ever played England though didn't he? Tendulkar has done it repeatedly for 20+ years across the world against every team home and away.

I think I heard or read somewhere that occasionally Bradman refused to play on pitches he deemed 'unsuitable' - or something along those lines. Not sure if this is a yarn or not, anyone heard anything along these lines?

But I'm with Buffy - Tendulkar's played in a much more competetive age, against teams with different bowling strengths and in vastly different conditions. And in this more challenging era he stands head and shoulders above everyone else.

Try bringing that logic to this very same argument with an Australian.

Sachin is an incredible player, but equally as Bradman might not have had the diversity of opponents, what about some of those Indian pitches? For two tests over there a couple of months ago even we had guys scoring 100s.

Compared to his peers, Bradman was basically unstoppable. His stats dwarf anyone around him.

And I'm not convinced Tendulkar is head and shoulders above a guy like Brian Lara.

All are or were magnificent players though. Incredible achievement from Sachin.

Nzcricket website doesn't have live scoring of the Northern Knights v Wellington Firebirds game in Hamilton but does have live scoring of Wellington Womens Development v Northern Districts Womens Development and Canterbury U18 v Otago U18. WTF? I have money on the ND v WGTN game and can't follow it.

Reece Young makes test side.

Luke Woodcock, Adam Milne, and Dean Brownlie make T20 side.

I'm not too sure about Woodcock, sure his bowling is good at domestic level but international batsmen will crush him. And he's not the biggest hitter around. And Milne's being chucked in too early without doing anything of note other than bowling fast.

However, there's no stupid bolter who made the team, no outright stupid pick, so I'm glad, go the selectors

I'm just stoked for Woody because he works so hard at his game and is a very passionate cricketer. He's been around in the NZ'A' team for awhile and has had a very good HRV Cup with the ball.

In regards to Milne, they did the same thing with Trent Boult a couple of seasons ago, put him in there for a taste so he gets a feel for what it's like. He's probably still awhile off a proper place in the team.

Don't know much about Brownlie.

Brownlie's good, but I reckon guys like Flynn and De Grandomme are better though. Still, will be a competitive team I reckon, and the test team looks ok. We'll have to see how Woodcock goes, and whether he gets many games

It isn't quite like that though is it.

He was dropped because they were worried about an injury, yet they didn't give him the chance of a fitness test or for a doctor to say yay or nay, they just dropped him.

Fair enough U-turn I'd have thought.

Yeah why didn't they consult him first? Stephen Flemming is his agent so he would have done the 'negotiating' with NZC.
Baz is a massive draw card for crowds so I don't see why it wasn't in NZC's best interest to try their chances with him in the first place.

I don't know. And I think McCullum is a good player so am not against including him at all.
Just another case of NZC with egg on their face I guess. They seem to be u-turning at every opportunity.

I think the fact that they didn't include him without consulting either him or a doctor,or runniung a fitness test was interesting.

Not the U-turn,the U-turn was perfectly acceptable.

You're taking something perfectly sensible and turning it into a negative.

They obviously value the test matches more than the 20/20's, but if McCullum thinks he's fit then they should pick him

I applaud them for that  the idea to keep him fresh for test matches is a good one (if he actually isn't fit enough to play T20). Either way it's good to see them taking test matches seriously for a change.

Unfortunately a few players will value the T20 games more as they'll be looking for one of those fancy IPL contracts,or to add a few extra dollars on to their IPL value.
