As much as this is definaely another "points dropped" game I'm not sure you can blame the coach (solely) - the players are out there to do the job, they get the early goal and within 10 minutes the intensity drops, following which the opposition scores. This has happened 8 times in the last 13 games we've scored first. The coach isnt calling form the sidelines for a drop in intensity! It's jysg happening. Uffie said in his most recent interview he has no idea why, but he has the sports psychologist woring on it - hopefully a solution can be found.
another saved pen! Sail makes up for his error in the first half.
Still playing, enough time for another howler.
good grief. you realise Paulsen is 20, and still ery inexperienced. sure he's done ok in the games he had kast season but he's nowhere near ready to replace Sail.
Then why is he in the squad? If he isn't good enough to play a game of A-league football then perhaps he should be in the reserves.
lol, he's a decent keeper but still young and inexperienced. He's in the squad purely as injury cover for Sail- we dont have anohter keeper even close to pushing for the first team in the wider squad.
Then perhaps we should get one. No pressure on Sail doesn't seem to work at all.

Maybe, but that decision was made at the start of the season. No room in the squad now for a third keeper.
Sorry, a bit of possession and some pressure on their defence late can't paper over that being a really poor performance. A lack of self belief and leadership, too many errors from highly experienced players who should know better. I fear for our finals chances now.
Ufuks body language has changed since missing all whites job - that was a huge distraction - i will get criticised for saying that but lets be honest...
Disappointing at no time did we change shape or try anything...the like for like subs and see how that goes approach aint going to cut it! we will either just sneak in or just miss out.
I think Nic milks a something out of nothing there. we should be 3 down
Pity from the ref. Was surprised. Shut off the tele at that point.
Sutton for Sasse next week? We need to get our best 11 on the park. And both Mauragis and Sam would be in that for me.
What do we need a seance?
We can’t score after about 25 minutes. Maybe we need someone in for Waine? We created enough for sure. Reckon Hamish Watson would have grabbed a goal or two there?
We are just falling to bits. This very frustrating.
The decision to give us a yellow when we get fouled in the box is bullshark, but fudge 2 missed pens and 1.5 soft goals to lose us fudgeing frustrating.
Talay once again showing that he lacks any tactical agility at all. Same idea week in week out, time to try something new.
And yes, the player were poor but ultimately that falls on the manager as well. There's been far too many poor performances from players for it to simply be a coincidence.
We are Mentally weak, no leaders on the pitch and dear I say it, from management.. a culture of accepting mediocrity over many years has left us in this root.. if this was Sydney fc or wsw they would be calling for mass changes in the club

Yeh that interview was unnerving- he was really very cut up about it and on camera. Could be for a lot of reasons, but having chosen to come here and to be belittled by the process maybe made him feel a bit rejected by the country? Or the reality he was going to leave when he wasn’t ready to? Unfinished business?
But it just shows how good Lewis is. Thought Rufer also had a reasonable game too today, but wish he’d managed a final pass or knocked that header in.

I mean look at Sydney now. Wootton comes back, we win a few and we are right back in it. I think the problem was more goal scorers…we definitely rallied and came back at them, but couldn’t put away our chances.
crikey i have some supporters that will upset a few here
I’m not signing up for your Tupperware party, just agreeing that the calm and confidence has to come from somewhere and Uffie getting treated like that in public either knocks him or his image in front of his players.
We tap in a second it means nothing perhaps. Merrick used to talk about confidence, not momentum. But we’re crap out of either. Hopefully we’ve bottomed out here and get reinforcements back and improve from here.

I agree. Old and Pennington tried to bring some urgency into the game, but the rest it just not following. Uffi can talk all he want's about the sports psychology for the players, he must first look at him self, he has no plan B. And plan A like sitting back on a lead and absorb pressure is also not working. The tight ladder and few wins made us look better than we are. I don't like to blame van Hattum, as he's young player. I can't see anything in him, you need to help me out. In a way he has the easiest job, go in, play free and show something only a youthful mind can do. But I can't remember a single action of him, ever. Sasse is also not working in the team, boy I missed Kosta.
Paulsen to start for next week? Or should we have signed a goalie who could give Oli some competition too? 1-0 at half I think we win that most likely.
crikey i have some supporters that will upset a few here. Thinking like me has been dangerous territory in the past.
I still think we have enough goals in us but faaaark we need to tighten up defensively.
Boxall in next week has to happen.
I'm not sure we even have a lot of goals in us. Since Waine left we only have 1 out and and out striker who works very hard so is usually done at 70 mins. We have lots of attacking players, but other than Kraev, none of them really look like scoring consistently; Ball/Old/Kosta/Sasse don't score many. Likewise Rufer/Ugarkovic/Pennington/Lewis don't pop up with many goals from the midfield (like Tim Brown did many years back) either.
Fair enough letting Waine go off and chase bigger things, but we should of looked for a replacement in the Jan window, seeing as we have a lack of striker depth.

If you've watched any Perth games you'll be thankful we have Sail. He made a mistake, he also made a few good saves though (including a pen).
We'd be a lot better with Wooten, Lewis and Kosta. The way the club sets itself up we need a healthy squad to really get to the top few spots on the table.
Ugarkovic and Sasse aren't as good as we might have hoped. Kraev can't do it getting kicked to bits every game because he's the obvious threat and without Clayton no-one else is really able to pull defence off him when they mark him hard. And Zawada can't score enough without the delivery.
The guys at the back are all young, trying hard but just need that calm leadership.

We decided Paulsen was the number two last season as he’d been able to deputise for Oli well. If he’s not ready to step up, then we need a number 2. Paulsen is better than …Cook? at Perth.
Oil’s mistake cost us our lead. Simple. The pens missed were more difficult to score than it was to save that.
That's got to be the Sasse starting experiment knocked on the head for a bit. He's a liability with possesion and I just don't think there's anything improved he offers that Ben Old doesn't.
Would like to see Boxall starting next week. And Payne kept on the bench as a viable substitution for either Elliott or Laws/Boxall if needed
Clearly both the Victory and the Bulls were due for a pick up in fortunes, as did Perth. We were playing flat these last three games. Personally, I miss Lewis. Rufer played OK but to me he has not yet recovered his pre-injury vision that a DM should have in order to direct the team.
I've had time to stew on this game. a couple of observations. it was the 20th time the Nix have taken the lead in a game and then proceeded to snatch a draw or a loss from the jaws of Victory.
For the second week in a row, we have successfully managed to play a shark team back into form.
Oli is having too many brain farts this season. But the three in front of him should have done better.
FFS: Either blast the penalty kick and try and break the net or stick it in the top left or right hand corner.
Any Nix player taking a penalty should be find $20k for doing those stupid fudgeing stutter steps.
I think it is time for the child Golf Prospect to step up to the plate. We've seen glimpses but that is all we have seen. Time to be counted. Not Rufer's finest hour but he certainly not the only one that should be accepting blame.
Lastly, I read somewhere that the club had employed a shrink to get into the players about winning and to maintain a winning lead. That person must be on an extended holiday this season.
AGAIN, 20 games where we have taken the lead and self destructed. NOT good enough.
