Winston Reed ?
A modest Nativity Scene, modified for our times. Peace.
Now we need a quality import CB. Look at the impact Lacroix is having at WU.
Side note. Really hope there are no changes to NSW border policy. Could make bringing anyone else in difficult, and would delay the return of Hopper.
NSW Premier is pretty bullish on keeping his state open. So unless deaths, and ICU admissions skyrocket with Omicron, don't expect any border changes.
Trying for another loan deal, on a match fit visa CB out there makes sense. But unless they can find someone who is match fit ready to go, don't see Welnix throwing cash at anymore visa signings with season soon 38% over, them bleeding cash in Aussie, and Nix likely struggling to make the top 6. Might as well go for a longer term focus, blood some of the Weenix kids like Surman, and give Talay what he wants for season 2022/23.

Not looking good at all.
NSW have just been lambasted by Queensland for allowing virus to run amok.
yeah nah!
If I was the owners, bleeding cash daily, I'd be giving serious thought to not making any more expensive visa signings this season.
Sandoval looks like excellent business as a loan deal (so presumably sharing his weekly wage bill with Guadalajara), and possibly could become a permanent signing next season. Who knows maybe they are working on another similar loan opportunity.
But otherwise why would you in a way bother adding to your expense column, when any new visa signing has to arrive match fit ready to go, to even participate in about 60% of the season. A season where if you were a betting man, it seems already that Nix won't make the playoffs, or at best sneak in as 5th or 6th to go out in the first round. That's just the way it looks already. Covid just keeps being a right fudgeer, and Nix have now been massively handicapped 3 seasons in a row.

It's still too early to say how the Omicron strain is going to pan out, and there is definitely always a lag effect of 3-4 weeks it seems.
But if we use the brutal measurement of deaths, seems we shouldn't be too pessimistic. NSW with a sky high 11,201 new cases today. But only 3 deaths. In a world (not NZ) context that's a low number. The 3, I note were aged 70s to 80s, all fully vaccinated but all with underlying health conditions.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-12-29/nsw-covid-19-cases-double-11201-infections/100728790
NSW Health said most of the 625 people currently in hospital had not received two doses of the vaccine.
Again too early to say what's going to happen, but is a lot of consistent evidence from around the world now that Omicron is going to be milder than all earlier strains. For sure NZ Govt will be watching situation in Aus very very closely. Their move to extend date Kiwis can arrive from Aus, sans MIQ the right call.

Seems happy to be in Aussie, even tho he wanted the #10 shirt rather than #7. Does say if he stays next season, he wants the #10 shirt. Who knew WeeMac's old number was such a coveted one?

Yay!
Alright, now to narrow down the list, which players have been following the Nix lately on social media? Surely someone's got the scoop on this one.

Odds on bet. He's even played for Guadalajara (same Liga MX club Davila & Sandoval), twice. Age 32. Handy CV. And from the photo, left footed?
Presumably from his time in the MLS, hablars some Ingles.

Here's a nice round up of his 2020 season with the Earthquakes that makes me think he would fit right into how we're trying to play.
Played against NZ in the 2017 Confeds Cup.

I wonder if they would play Juan on Juan?

Wonder if it'll mean Payne to RB
Also looks like it's only for the rest of the season? Hopefully an option in there for another year
