Why so bitter?
Good on Tyler.

Good on Tyler.
Technically he could play for the all whites if he dropped his Japanese passport
Boyd cannot play for us again and that is the difference
He's a kiwi player, playing overseas. The choice of national team doesn't change that. Thread stays here, and we don't need devolve into an argument about where the thread should sit because it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
Along with the previous confirmation from Patrick above, he is a dual citizen, so still a Kiwi playing overseas. His thread is here and people still want to provide updates and/or follow his career so the thread will stay. No more discussion on the thread being moved or deleted completely needs to happen, so we can get back on topic please.
Heavily linked to Fenerbahçe. Vítoria’s manager has just left for Shakhtar Donetsk so may pave a way for a starting spot there if he can impress the new guy, but Fener fans have already started making welcome videos for him
Boyd's team mate at Ankaragücü, David Orgill scores twice as Jamaica beat Honduras 3-2 in the Gold Cup.
USA play a South American country, the mighty Guyana tomorrow.

Looking at their match history, they certainly play more games than us.
Boyd gets a start in the game against Guyana
Here is your #USMNT starting XI to take on ?? in tonight's #GoldCup2019 opener!

1-0 to the US after 43 minutes but Boyd not on the scoresheet. Apparently this is the first time Guyana qualifies for the Gold Cup.
Also it appears their coach, Michael Johnson, ran into controversy a while back as he openly refused to support the FA's campaign against homophobia for personal reasons.
The real interesting part is that he was subsequently appointed to the FA's inclusion board!!! Luckily he stepped down later on...
Anyway, back to football..
I reckon Boyd will sneak one in today.

And he just scored! 1,000 goal scored in history of USA national team
Also, this third goal from the USA is brilliant. Type of goal you would see playing FIFA on console https://streamable.com/5ag8d
Nice finish, jesus the defending though!!
Follows it up with a second! Getting rave reviews from fans and commentators
has to back it up against a tougher team- but two good goals
The new hero of the USA.
Man of the Match as well
already had this convo on this exact page, should still be in Kiwi Players Overseas
the plaudits he’s getting from the American fans are insane. Easily won MOTM and could have had a hat trick I’m reading. Hard not to feel good for him
still a kiwi. Put him back IMO
Good bye
Well that blew up... Should ha r put some $ on him scoring!
Have*
so that was not a friendly So is he now locked as a USA player by FIFA ?
Great mod call

He was locked anyway, FIFA only allows a one time switch of allegence.
Apparently my brother's partner who is Guyanese had 3 cousins & 2 nephews in the Guyana side! Might a be loose South American use of the word 'cousin'.
My bro reckons in 4 years of living in Guyana he never saw a competitive even park game of football - so he thinks they did okay to only lose by 4.
did wonder if the two against Adelaide was the greater achievement
I remember people on here mocking him, including myself, that he should not play for NZ because he wanted to play for the US which seemed ridiculous. I was wrong, and good on him... he must of worked very hard to get to this level which I respect. Considering NZ never plays it seems like an even better decision. Well done to him.
It would be great if the moderation team could come to a general consensus on where this thread belongs, instead of it being moved every few days. I personally think it belongs where it currently is thanks to Yakcall, as he's a New Zealand duel citizen, playing overseas. Any other reason to move it is due to bitterness.
This aside, it'll be interesting to see if his Gold Cup performances bring in a few more offers from bigger teams if he keeps it up.
though with the lack of football a good mod fight could be entertaining
Really pleased for Boyd. Man of the match in a full international for the USA team is some achievement.
To be honest the current USA mens team is not that great. They will struggle against better opposition. But Boyd was their standout player and has put him self in the box seat for a long career in the team.
Its amazing the international buzz generated from his performance. He gets a good write up in ESPN, Washington Post, Guardian, Fox Sports USA. The USA fans have gone nuts on social media.....I guess they have not had much to celebrate for a while.
I would expect Boyd will be hot property in the transfer market....he already had been noticed from his Turkey performances. There are rumours in the USA that a few MLS sides are chasing him. The USA captain Bradley is on $4 million US at Toronto. It could be money time for Boyd....plus he would pull good sponsor money playing in the USA. However IMO he should stay in Europe. There is plenty of noise coming from top Turkish clubs but i reckon he could play at a higher level.
"Fortunately I was brought up in an academy where we play with both feet. They forced us to. At the time it was a bit of a struggle but I'm thankful for that and now I don't mind which side [of the wing] I play on."
Besiktas have made an offer of €2 million for Boyd

Boyd definitely giving US fans something to be excited about.
Attitude towards the team about at an all time low after failure to qualify for the last WC.
But Boyd along with youngsters like Pulisic (Chelsea), Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig) and others young guys have folks optimistic about future.
Helps a ton that Boyd not tainted by failure to qualify, pretty much everyone from that team but Pulisic hated by USMNT fans.
Really pleased for Boyd. Man of the match in a full international for the USA team is some achievement.
I'm not sure how any AWs fan could be even remotely pleased for Boyd. I understand why he swapped allegiances, but to be happy for him is like being happy when the ex bags a new fella with a faster car, better job, and bigger d1ck than you.
Hoo-f**king-ray.
Take it easy, Mark :)
Have all my Thises Russ.
I'd feel aggrieved if we actually had some games lined up in which he'd play.
In all honesty, I'd rather see him play for another country than rot in the Bermuda Triangle of fixtures that is the New Zealand football calendar.
Best of luck, Tyler - odds on to become the biggest Phoenix product ever, I'd say
