I saw a clip of James McOnie's recent humorous song about the Phoenix revival on TV recently. Anyone know of a link to it online which I can send to friends? I thought it was quite entertaining.
After beating Lebanon 5-0 during the latest round of World Cup qualifiers, Arnold revealed only players involved in the grand final would be considered for selection from the A-League when the Socceroos return to action with two matches against Palestine in June.
With the competition heading towards its conclusion, he was reluctant to pick anyone who has not played for a few weeks.
There is only one problem with that criteria, which a reporter quickly pointed out to Arnold during the post-match press conference following their big win over Lebanon.
Wellington could be one of the two teams in the grand final.
The Phoenix sit three points clear at the top of the table with only five games remaining, starting with Brisbane Roar at Sky Stadium on Sunday.
“That shows you where we’re at,” Arnold quipped. “Wellington are winning it. Kiwis!”

And what’s the YF tag line? Bottom line - we’re trying to create a healthy but fierce rivalry with the YF. It’s going to be fun! Thank goodness old mate missed his pen the other night 🙌🏼

Bottom tag line should read 'Third time's a charm'

meh, its clearly not your island, that's the desperate part. Rivalry will come naturally, don't force it, it is just cringe worthy.

To be fair - it’s a rivalry between fans. Our boys are still travelling down to support you this season, then calling quits. But you have most of us on board, we’ve supported you lot for 17 years. Blessed to be handed an Auckland team and derby. Football is on the up!

Question: are you the sole spokesperson on here? And if so, why? In other words, do you guys have a democratic & representative fanbase? Or are you a fledgling autocracy?

I can already sense a heavy UK expat, middle aged & older element behind 'Up.The.Port'. I bet old mate Bay 22 on here fits that bill.
Will they be so welcoming of others who don't fit that demographic, some who may not like the Port moniker? Already plenty on their FB Group, I see saying it doesn't resonate with them. Many of a younger age will have absolutely no idea who spinach munching Popeye is as one example.
Still Auckland is a big city by NZ standards. So maybe there is room for the Black Knights to have 2 (or more fan groups). At least The Port crew have done some work to start something, so respect for that.
PS. Also the autocorrection set up on here to change "Up.The.Port" to "Wellington is the home of Football" - the rivalry is already real. Good banter.

I actually had a chuckle at the replacement wording Up. The. Port. Cheeky autocorrect haha. Very well done! We are very welcome if all fans supporting the boys. Yes - they are very welcome to create their own fan zone, but currently we are the leading crew and we have been working very hard behind the scenes. Gear up for next season, this is going to be very fun
