It was rumoured I will be making a debut for the Nix next year. I heard it while I was talking to myself in the shower.
That rumour has as much validity as yours I would suggest
If thats what passes for gold in your book...

McBreen would have to be gutted not to be in the starting line-up.
ADP in the middle of the front three, so guess they wanted more wider strikers.
Article also links to the Pitch & Stadium survey. ROF was 8th for pace, 9th for hardness and 3rd for smoothness. We were last for Atmosphere.

4 Kiwis in there - if you count Archie as a Kiwi,
Arnold claims his Central Coast Mariners, who clinched their first domestic championship title last Sunday, are probably the only club in the A-League really prioritising local talent over foreign imports.
Arnie can give us Wee Mac then, that will give Holger another Aussie to choose from.
This seasons bloopers video is up (Complete with Siggy-Pasty f*ck-up as the preview image).
Where was Totori running the ball over the line ????

Ha, cool as bloopers collection. Well done and thanks.
2nd tier National Premier League - seems a bit of in-fighting going on. Some of the larger Victorian clubs refusing to go near it.
Reports coming out of the CCM Fans Forum, that the FFA may take responsibility for player payments. Only way I see that working, is the FFA withholding the Salary Cap from the clubs grants, and drip feeding that for the monthly wages.

Wonder if this is just for CCM?

I'm not an expert on the MLS but sounds something that they do.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Soccer#Ownership
MLS operates under a single-entity structure in which teams are centrally owned by the league.[3] Each team has an owner-operator that is a shareholder in the league. In order to control costs, the league shares revenues, negotiates player contracts, and holds players contracts instead of players contracting with individual teams. The league won a bitter legal battle with its players over its economic system, which was eventually resolved with the players gaining some improved benefits in return for accepting the single-entity structure. The court also ruled that even absent their collective bargaining agreement, players could opt to play in other leagues if they were unsatisfied.

New CBA is for 2 yrs, Cap goes up to 2.5 mil for 13/14 and 2.55 mil for 14/15. The FFA distributions to the clubs will match the salary cap.
Really does it make it easier for all clubs to become sustainable long-term. Probably the biggest thing to happen to the league since its inception. Now, all we need is to get rid of those stupid plastic chairs and get a real subs bench!
"FFA Club Distributions can only be used to pay Players' salaries"
You might as well spend all the cap now then, nothing to be gained by operating at 80%

I agree.
But just from another angle, wouldn't holding back the 'unused' money encourage clubs to spend the cap, which could also be a good thing?
I agree.

I think if they give the money outright as a lump sum, then you will have teams that will try to make money out of it. i.e. if we can put out a team for only XYZ of 2.5 mil, who cares how they perform if they make us money. While they are entitled to make money out of it, what does that then do the credibility of the league putting out a team of hacks on minimum wage. It would not happen but the potential for abuse is there.
I agree that the teams have to spend to the cap limit or anything not spent is not given to the club (or perhaps find some other use to benefit the club with out it being pocketed)
