I have. They are artificial lakes and not their natural habitat.

Let them migrate to the 250 flock on coxs bay. Those guys are peaceful as in their natural environment
And don’t cause anyone any harm

I think having a helipad at your house is just completely unnecessary and annoying, and then of course there is the carbon impact as well. Just because a bunch of rich people have helipads in/near residential areas doesn't mean it is cool for these guys to do it too.

And it obviously doesn't affect me personally either, if anything it is just a reason to be anti AFC and make the looming rivalry more interesting. Wouldn't even think twice about this if they weren't owners of AFC.

His argument from his quick google search is crap

Waiheke is over 50km from Auckland first of all. Separated by water and the usual commute is a ferry. Not comparable.

Westmere, is  basically as close to Auckland city as you get apart from Herne bay and St Mary’s bay.

5 mins to a motorway as well if you want to drive.

Then he starts crapping on about some guy in takapuna with a question mark

? WTF does that mean - yes, no, bullshark?

I’m no greenie but all I will say is I paddle board the strip of water in front of their new place each weekend when the weather and tide is right. There are basically 250 geese who permanently reside there.

I do my very best not to disturb them, but I can’t see them staying long as a helicopter comes on in.

Give me 250 geese any time.

Have you been to Western Springs in the last ten years?
Geese are a bunch of noisy gangsters who chase away other creatures, crap everywhere, have an ugly call and are generally incompatible with humans or others sharing the same space. That’s ducks, swans, coots, shags, wading birds etc etc and at Western Springs that’s no football on the grass because it’s absolutely covered in their sharke. They’re basically the unruly tourists…

Won’t somebody think of the ducks, swans, coots, shags, wading birds etc etc.

Don’t get on your high horse to defend geese and then say Waiheke isn’t Auckland. It’s suburban Auckland, with suburbs, supermarkets, schools and people.

The cops spend a lot of time flying choppers around and don’t put any money into football.

Long story short, unlike Foley, I can’t find too many people prepared to stand up and say Williams and the Mowbrays are good folk, but I’m going to revisit my previous opinion and wait and see how the football season goes seeing as how they are putting their money into the game and as far as we know haven’t been killing anyone…

Anyway talked to a bunch of mangroves at Cox’s bay and they said screw the old money bastards who were opposing density and sponge city measures and also they had no problem with helicopters.

My opinion may or may not have something to do with how little I have been and am going to be hanging out in Cox’s Bay of late.

I can only assume from that nonsensical reply, that the cops when they were flying helicopters and not putting money into football, found your drug plot

Honk, honk

Worst fever feud ever

Kind of poor effort on my part as I don’t really care either way, though I did use to jog around the track on the park a decade ago.

I think one of the arguments nay-sayers use  is that Mechanics Bay’s heliport is close enough for their purposes. Sure if you owned a helicopter it would be nice to land in your back yard but as anyone knows that has been near one, choppers make a huge racket.

They are not common here in the UK.

Just down the road from me is Chequers which does not have one although British and US military helicopters fly in there, nor do any of the Rothschild's places around me in Bucks. In British cities you can only operate them from actual CAA recognised heliports or airports meaning that even in London there are just a handful scattered on the Thames river.

In Auckland they should be at Mechanics Bay, North Shore Airport, Whenuapai, Ardmore, Parakai, the hospitals, and Auckland International. Nowhere else.

Keep helicopters at airports where they belong as they are noisy and disturbing to others, and where facilities exist if things go wrong (speaking as a L.A.M.E. who's worked on heli's in NZ and the UK).

Other players that are coming through thick and fast on the North Shore of late...
Everton O'Leary (04') Birko
Vadym Patkevych (04') Rewa
Shiv Nair (05') Birko

3 cap All White Kalvin Kalua is also at training today.

Of all the names I've previously mentioned, only Troy Putt and Oscar Mason appear not to be at training today.

Danny Hay is a fan of 25 yr old (Kelvin) Kalua, so no surprise to see him get a chance. I remember when Hay picked him for the AWs, he said he was deserving of an ALM gig.

Still if AFC sign Sakai as strongly rumoured that is 2 RBs on the books already, alongside Elliott. Unless Sakai is to play CB.

Patkevych may be there to fill the David James role, sticking a keeper up top to get a goal in the dying minutes. Scored (albeit from his own box) for Manurewa in the Chatham Cup last month.

From what I've seen, Danny is the only one who rates him that highly. He's Danny's Jeremy Christie.

Have to say I'm quite keen to see three kiwi teams play over one weekend in Sydney. Might have to organise a trip to Aus. Could well be a fun weekend.

Bit jealous that we don't get this stuff from the nix. Typically we get like 1 or 2 training videos a season which is a bit meh.

I get this is a marketing ploy from AFC to show that they're here and drum up support. These posts will likely wane in the coming seasons. Still cool to see though

I feel like fan engagement from the Nix has been lacking for about 10 years now.

That 'Unite" Round would have been the best opportunity to have the Nix V AFC game here in New Zealand. Save a lot on travel for both clubs. I guess that would be too much common sense.

Thought Unite round was all about the deal made between APL and NSW. Having games in Sydney to boost tourism etc. Was originally the Grand final deal, but after the lash back they settled for an annual unite round in Sydney instead.
A payday for APL.

Only way unite round is coming to NZ is if Welnix or Foley stump up some cash to have the rnitre round in Wellington or Auckland. I cant see Welnix wanting to, Foley might. But, then you have the question of which stadia would be used? Auckland has two that would be suitable in Eden park and Go Media. Wellington only really has Sky Stadium. Add to that how many actual fans are gonna travel to see the games???
