An Australian Rules Football ground. Interesting.. Funnily enough, also called Coopers Stadium.
Sounds like it's just a bargaining ploy to get a better deal at Hindmarsh. I hope so, oval grounds are terrible for football
Aren't they the only tenant at Hindmarsh? It's pretty much the perfect ground for an A-League team, they even have AUFC written in chairs on the stands which kind of adds to their legitimacy in some sort of shallow fashion.
Perfect ground, but the rent is too high for them. I can't remember the exact figure of attendance they need to break even, but it's pushing it.
This article is from March 2013, and I don't think much has changed.

What's our numbers?
I wouldn't know what our ground is like. Unfortunately, only from TV. But the obvious things Adelaide's situation has over ours is their consistent attendance numbers, and the rectangular stadium with a great atmosphere when the Reds are on fire.

In terms of stadium experience, Westpac really is terrible for our needs. There's just way too many bright yellow empty seats, and even those closest to the pitch are still probably 20 metres away. It's really not good.
It lloks cool with all yellow seats in an empty stadium, but when there are people in it, it looks exposed for what it is. I like the multicoloured seats as per Kennedy Park, because with a few people in an area, it actually looks fuller on TV. But then, that would have required forward thinking from Westpac Trust and that isn't going to happen. Just look at how the "family" atmosphere killed the 7's.

I think it's great that with Rob there, the Nix has a seat at the top table, considering the handicaps the club has to work under (no firm licence, constant murmurings about throwing us out of the league, etc).
Assistant Head Coach Jacobo Ramallo departs #AUFC. Thank you, Jacobo! ?

. @AdelaideUnited striker Baba Diawara could be set for another extended #ALeague injury lay-off with knee issue:https://t.co/6XdeGykDIJ
— The Advertiser Sport (@TheTiserSport) November 2, 2018
Boland, 31, is expected to have scans on an injury he says is “shocking”.
It has the potential to put him out of action long term.
The German could join injured Senegalese striker Baba Diawara (knee) which is bound to rock the Reds campaign.
“I heard my hamstring snap, I think it’s badly damaged,’’ Boland said.
“It was after the tackle, I kicked the ball forward and then got tackled and I was falling and then it got hit (the left hamstring) and then I heard it snap, I have never felt like this before.”
The German was forced off the pitch in the 67th minute for Ken Ilso.
Man that sounds nasty, good luck to him. Didn't Mossy have a similar injury while taking a goal kick years ago?

Kind of odd. He's a fiery character so maybe he's rubbed someone up the wrong way but his coaching ability is plain for all to see. On paper that squad is not impressive yet he has got the Reds punching above their weight imo.
Wonder their fans think about the situation.

Seems to be a major personality clash there. I think he is an excellent coach but maybe quite hot headed and demanding. Not entirely sure who is to blame for their underwhelming recruitment this season but he has done a pretty amazing job with a squad that in a lesser coach's hands would probably be in the bottom 3 or 4.

That is a very interesting read. Thought this comment was worth pointing out
“Budget has nothing to do with quality and especially not in Australia.
“Relatively speaking the Australian players are overpaid because of the increasing salary cap.
“The salary cap a few years ago was $1.5 million and it’s gone up to $3 million now, but it’s the same players so they get double the money roughly.
“That hasn’t had any effect on the quality.
