and lastly a well taken goal by Yeboah after a nice ball from Ibini. I missed the Rojas injury. How did it happen?
Apparently the picture makes it worse than it was. Rojas come from behind and Dorrans didn't know he was there. The boot was going up rather than into Marco's face
Finally saw the video, it was nothing like that I was told. He might have been unsighted but Marco came from front on. Easy Red, King missed a couple major calls last night.
Fox Sport are muppets- 'refs handled that well.' High foot, dangerous play, 9/10 red. Marco out for some time.
I've never thought King was a good ref. He's worse than Beath. For mine, Beath is usually consistentish, though he had a couple of irritated calls last game and tbf I'm happy to see players pinged for swearing and dissent.
King though is the exemplar of the A league trend to react to playacting or complaining rather than fouls and not to punish dangerous challenges.
I don't think it looked like malice, but very dangerous play- exactly why there is a high foot rule.
Jaysus Fox I'd hate to see your HR complaints- ' it was a bouncy touch by Rojas and he's put himself and his team in the firing line.' ' Rojas must have made a mess of his nose'.
That's interesting. My view on King and Beath is pretty much the opposite of yours. I've always seen King as a very consistent ref who communicates effectively and controls the game well with a minimum of mistakes (last night being the exception). The games flow better, players visibly respond better to his decision making and there is generally way less coach/player angst than in games reffed by Ams, Evans, Beath, Kersey, etc.
Chris Beath is extremely experienced yet is so often at the heart of refereeing controversies that I cringe whenever I see his name down to ref a Nix game. Consistent he is not. He also has a bad habit of slowing down games with schoolmasterly lectures of players which annoys them as much as it does me!
