Sorry to intrude guys and girls, but is there a location listing the NRFL squads? Difficult to follow the divisions when all you have is fleeting mentions in news articles and maybe the odd match programme

I stumbled across some links earlier in the year ...

https://www.oceaniafootball.com/competition-list/n...

https://www.oceaniafootball.com/competition-list/n...

https://www.oceaniafootball.com/competition-list/n...

https://www.oceaniafootball.com/competition-list/n...

...click on each match and it has lineups, goal-scorers.   Not sure if same links available on nrfl sites, or why available on oceaniafootball.com

They show 2 defaults in the NRFL womens and a forfeit in NRFL Div 2 as well as the earlier mentioned default in NRFL Div 1.  Plus there some defaults in the Kate Shepherd Cup which shouldn't happen either.

Speaking of WaiBOP, what on earth is or isn't happening at Hamilton Wanderers? Lost all 21 games and with a goal difference of -100. That's impressively bad, even for a reserve team.

Papamoa were hoping to get promoted, but maybe their Chatham Cup run escalated the number of postponements and so disqualified them. Sounds ccrazy.

there were several weeks when games could have been played but no games took place - sounds like the competitions office at WaiBOP has had the same challenges that the AFF office has.  Let's just blame comet though - there is a scape goat.

Some wild rumours going around that there will be withdrawals from the NRFL given the new rule that reserves must have an under-23 quota - some even saying high-flying Waiheke might pull out. So there might be hope for the eventual WaiBOP winners yet (via a playoff with Papakura and/or Te Atatu).

Oh well,  as long as they tried hard we can't be too upset.  (Sarcasm)

Choppa can you confirm the under 21 restrictions will be in place for next year???  I am yet to be advised and will be horified if it is confirmed in the new year.

Yeah nah

Decision.

Both clubs cop a 5 point deduction and a 500 dollar fine, plus a 2000 dollar bond against behaviour next season.

Tavano gets a 6 match ban. Tavano Snr gets a 2 year ban.

Fair enough, let's move on.

Tavano Alonso shall be suspended for a total of six playing days pursuant to Rule 29.1 of the NZF Disciplinary Code as his actions precipitated the subsequent “brawl” between the clubs

What actions did Tavano take? (Genuine question)

From the article now updated.

"It is understood he was found to have thrown a bottle at Manukau player Prince Quansah once they had both left the field of play after being shown red cards. That bottle hit a spectator instead, which led to a brawl involving players and spectators from both clubs. The match was abandoned shortly thereafter" https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/domestic/10...

Might be a long shot - but I remember around 2010-2011 I had a one on one goalkeeper coach while playing youth football in Auckland. He was Brazilian and had a pretty rough beard, does anybody here know anyone of that description playing or coaching in Auckland at that time? Think he was brought in by Jenny Bindon or Danny Robinson who also coached me.

For anyone that complains that the All Whites aren't playing - get behind the Ferns instead. World Cup year, competing at the top level of world football, with some household womens football names. This result against Norway is a sign anything is possible with this team.

NZ is playing international football matches - get on board!

Onehunga seems to have had a bit of a fall from Grace.

Should be a good  weekend this week. I'll be heading along to MAP vs 3 Kings tonight. Beers on the balcony

Make that 3 with a loss to Central.

Should we wait till we are halfway through a season before making calls about teams?

I would at least give it 5-6 games. Remember how shark Birko were at the start of last season? Ended up finishing 3rd and winning the Chatham Cup.

Far too early to make accurate judgements.

Interesting weekend in the NRFL as the top 2 teams lose 6-0 and 5-0 respectively.

I was at Birko vs Springs and thought Birko took advantage of the conditions better than Springs who were seemed to be missing their regular midfield.

Also a first hand lesson for those kids at Springs that they need to have a pair of sprigs in their kit bags as well.
