..and there is no WPL team representing the vast swathe of geography west-south-west of Cashmere:from Halswell to Selwyn. Wouldn't surprise me if he next WPL team entity is from SlavaUnited (unless Dndn Tech and Otago U help create a South Island league). Be interesting to see what take the new Handy National League criteria has on the women's game.
Just been advised of the following:
Universities played an ineligible player against FC TWENTY 11 WPL team on Saturday 25th March.
Under NZF Regulations this game is a forfeit to Universities and score now reflects a 3-0 win to FC TWENTY 11
Result on the day was 2 - 1 to Universities, with previous goals scorers deleted from records and the 3 goals recorded as 'own goals'..
Amended table now reads:
Team | P | W | D | L | F | A | GD | Pts |
Coastal Spirit | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 9 | 6 | 3 | 6 |
Cashmere Tech | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 15 | 0 | 15 | 3 |
Universities | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 6 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
FC Twenty11 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 6 | 4 | 2 | 3 |
Tasman | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 6 | 6 | 0 | 3 |
Waimak United | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 4 | 6 | -2 | 0 |
Parklands | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 21 | -21 | 0 |

Yes he has certainly done a great job for female football in canterbury.
With 7 players moving out of town, most teams will take some time to adjust
Where has Shane Dyer gone?
Where has Shane Dyer gone?
Still in town, having a break maybe, recharging batteries, I think told me was 1st team coach for around 5 - 7 years.

A few additional facts are in order I think.
Dyer has been a successful junior rep coach.
Dyer recruited rep and FTC players to parklands PDL
Dyer pushed for WPL status after the PDL team could only finish 3rd
Dyer was unable to form a player development pipeline at parklands
Dyer/players leave.
Is women's football at parklands in better shape that when he started? They will head the same way as western

Just been advised due to the the weather in Nelson both tomorrow's game in the MPL - Suburbs vs. Bays and WPL - Tasman vs. Universities have been deferred until a later in the season - dates yet to be confirmed.
Waimak vs Parklands match postponed today due to pitch conditions at Kendall.
There was some surface water plus also 3 air pockets where the turf had lifted

CTFC worth their win. We were to slow out of the gates. Controlled the second half but no goals sadly.

Yes Technical made the most of their first half chances and Coastal ceretainly stronger after the break.
Looks like this the first time that Coastal have conceded 3 goals in the opening half without scoring themselves, in 148 WPL games - an amazing record.
