42 team cap 9?
CF Governance
Don't tell me NW have been promoted to make an 11 team premier league and a 9 team Cap 1!
Oh the suspense!
Undo some good work by CF staff by mugging off clubs through poor decision making (without being too specific). Maybe someone with common sense will be elected soon.
42 team cap 9?
Wouldn't be a surprise. We thought we had comfortably avoided relegation from cap 8 last season but have just been informed we're going to 9 thanks to the whole 11 team shambles.
mmm... wonder if that means we're headed to 10.

Should do since you came 7th
There were rumours someone had gone in the intervening tiers.

don't listen to rumours News (except the FMac album).
No idea - but it would prob have to be a club with few teams - otherwise they would shuffle them up
it's a shame they don't allow the members a copy of the minutes of the board meeting's.
in the day of the WSA all members could see what was happening and see who was causing stupid rule changes and dispensations to certain clubs benefit .
then when it was AGM time if the majority of members didn't agree with what had been done the people responsible where not voted back.
this is how a democratic system works.
I am interested to see how the FIFA rulings to make football administrations more accountable will be applied here in NZ as at present our model of governance is not within the guidelines i saw posted last year by FIFA.

I think they would let you see them if you asked? I actually always thought they went on the CF website.
minutes have been asked for in the past and declined so unless the policy has changed i think you will find it is a closed door.
Don't they by law have to provide minutes when requested? I didn't think declining to share them was an option.
it's all about the federation model that we introduced to replace the Associations…..
the Associations were covered by the normal rules of associations but the Federation is not.
it is also why there are people elected to the boards that we the membership have no say in being elected.
When are Cap Football going to pull finger and release the fudging draw for the numerous leagues.
Inside two weeks out from the season and only Cap Prem and Central League men's and women's draws are out.

This is inaccurate. Each Federation is a branch of New Zealand Football. They are all governed by the Incorporated Societies Act.
can find New Zealand Football incorporated but there is no capital football in the register….
direct me if you find it as i cannot find any of the federations.
they may have a odd name that they are registered under.
The previous Associations where all registered as individuals….

Try looking for the Federations by number
Capital Football is the trading name - in the search function of the Incorporated Societies website, type in "No. 5 District Federation"

Apparently we are now back in 8 for whatever reason. Would be good to see the draw at some point if it's supposed to start next week.
thanks old sole got it
so rule 20.1 is the clause as to why we get no minutes and transparency anymore.
and it is 4 appointed members to 3 elected members on the board so the membership/clubs who hand over all that money each year have a little say and cannot even see why/what it is spent on until the AGM when it is too late to give a opinion or have any input that might of been better than what was done.
in the words of our own prime minister "if you have nothing to hide then whats the issue with us looking"
that enough stirring of the pot of democracy for me…. I await change to come and hope that the people support open and transparent governance……i may be waiting along time so i will take a seat and watch the world go by.

I think the ratio of appointed to elected will have to change soon in line with NZF's new constitution (that was mandated by FIFA).

The draw is up.
Yep just seen it. Shame they only do it one week at a time for the lower grades instead of putting up the full draw.
kind of makes sense as they need to check ground availability etc. As long as they continue to put the draw for midweek turf games up at least 2 weeks in advance then I'm happy.
Not sure anyone got relegated from 9 in the end...
Or 8 by the look of it. Four Karori teams in the division too.

Yeah some notice of midweek games is good. For Saturday you know you're most likely playing 12.30 or 2.30 anyway.
Any one herd if Capital Football have sorted the NEW Governance model handed down by NZF as a response to FIFA corruption and scandal clean up program after the exposure of the behind closed door practices of Sepp Blatter by making all footballs Governance open and transparent to all stake holders.
i have herd lots of talk but no action so maybe the rumours that our system has some rotten apples protected by the existing Governance system is true and they just want it to go away or be swept under the carpet with some flannel that if the ship is not badly broken why get a new one when we can fix it as is.
or there other one of we will work though this process and get there in the end which is the old endless time frame one.
i do hope at this years AGM they have it all sorted and all board members going forward in 2016 are people nominated and elected by the clubs as per the suggested model from FIFA.
and for this to happen i would of thought nominations and other documentation would of been published by now.
At the risk of interrupting my popcorn binge, is this discussion missing the wood for the kauri? Is NZ's cultural/historical penchant for egalitarianism, and our awkward geography and topography, obstructing the goals football should be trying to achieve - a strong club based pyramid? Instead, national and regional administrators hold a view, rarely challenged and almost sacrosanct, that each provincial region will be represented - in part largely because rugby has historically organised that way (for good reasons) and it has served rugby well. The small country towns where Meads and McCaw hail from continue to be part of regional rugby's (ex club, now school/franchise) system.
NZF's federation model is a construct, in part, of such historical/cultural/geographical 'fixtures' - but does it still serve us well? Should a rep team from the naki really be part of a club based regional league? Is wairarapa really a club? Why are southern united playing in supposedly our top national league? Why can't a real Canterbury or Wellington club play in the nation's top league? Our administrative and financial structures are yet to complement NZFs WOF plan that promotes a national club league - which in itself still has some way to go.
Off topic I know, and probably clumsily communicated, but just wondering aloud whether the discussion is missing the bigger picture. I'll be back to my popcorn now.
So posted in Women's thread but thought should post here as it affects all.

Well the season’s underway and given the dry winter we experienced last year I suppose it was to be expected that the 2017 season would be different and given what we’ve experienced in the last couple of weeks we best brace ourselves for plenty of disruptions.
I’d like to broach a touchy subject; that of free speech. Social media has grown hugely over the recent past and in all likelihood will continue to do so however I would ask all involved within football to firstly engage their brain prior to committing misinformed criticism to various social media outlets. If you’ve got a gripe come to us, find out the reason why you might be annoyed; believe it or not we don’t deliberately go out of our way to do things that will get up our stakeholders noses.
Decisions we take are always well thought through and communicated to those clubs which they may affect so when members (and in some cases club officials) sound off on social media without any knowledge “urban myth” quickly becomes reality and is simply unhelpful.
I would also add that should there be instances of those who act in an official capacity within the game using social media in such a way that contravenes the NZF Code of Conduct we will not hesitate to take action as we did last season and I am currently dealing with the first one this season.
As always a little common sense goes a long way in alleviating problems, we try to use it every day and respectfully would ask all stakeholders to do similar; thanks much and enjoy the season.
So have a problem with something, see Capital Football, get told stuff it and there is nothing you can do about it. Womens football came together and submitted a joint document with their complaints and now because CF will do nothing, they can't discuss it, social media is a great way to enact change and think should be used for that reason.

How does one (me) get ahold of a copy of this 'document'?
Are you talking about the Code of Conduct? It can be found here, it appears even though it is Capital Football talking about it, it is a NZ Football document

I'm gonna guess he means the document of complaints.

No, this doc...
"Womens football came together and submitted a joint document with their complaints..."
Ask Greenie?
The complaint was primarily the 'no relegation' as well as the lack of consultation with all member clubs.
The document asked numerous questions which arose from the fact that there was a complete lack of clarity in the CF letter outlining the plans for Wimmins football (Reg changes).
They can have all the code of conducts that they wish but there is an Act Of Parliament, The Bill Of Rights which would over ride.
The Bill allows for freedom of speech which includes ridicule of silly regulations such as The W League.
MESSAGE FROM RICHARD REID (CEO)
"believe it or not we don’t deliberately go out of our way to do things that will get up our stakeholders noses."
I don't believe that and hence I am no longer able to be a "stakeholder" .
I can post whatever criticism I like on social media as "NZF Code of Conduct" no longer applies to me.
They can have all the code of conducts that they wish but there is an Act Of Parliament, The Bill Of Rights which would over ride.

but they are the law when it comes to football and if you don't have the cash to make a case to put to a high court judge you have no rights as the law on bodies like capital football and even clubs lack any teeth to stop this type of abuse of power and the law society identified this and did make recommendations to change the law but the government is yet to act and has buried it in red tape and select committee.
so beware of a ban/fine or expulsion if you hit a raw nerve.
even if what you say is true and factual.
If it is not liked by the powers that be you will be hunted down and dealt with by there alternate fact supported complaint re a breach of the code of conduct and then issued a sentence
