Naenae first team coach sacked after just 1 session. What's up with that?
Capital 1
Is it true Wainui have a decent team this year? Over heard a conversation about them.
Apparently They are bringing in some ex LH 1st teamers and a new striker?
Rumors that Stokes Valley have dropped down to capital 3 by choice, due to a bulk departures(mainly the younger players in the club).

doubt it. you can't just choose your league
they have done it before...dropped out of cap1 down to 3 or 4 a few years ago.
Whole team disbanded when the coach left(won't say the name) the team was pretty much replaced by a "social" team of good players
That worked their way up.
But I've only heard this as murmurings, so may or may not be right.

Tiago gone to KCU?
I'm not sure who has left, I dropped out of the team back in 2008(I think) when first won cap 2 to make cap 1.
Most of us in the team at that stage were replaced. I played a few games for them after they withdrew
To capital 4 and were then relegated.
All I've picked up is that most of the younger players from last year have left, and the remaining
Players are wanting to go down some grades.
Gossip on the Twittersphere is Stokes Valley have folded the first team. Stink.
Likely outcome... 9 team league?

Naenae finished 2nd in Capital 2 so will likely be offered the Cap 1 spot (only 1 team was promoted) if Stokes Valley can't get a team together

naenae are already in
IB will go up
There is definitely no stokes team this year, they were down to 8 players last I heard.
That was when they were trying to pull together a team for cap 3. By the sounds of it, that isn't happening either
pretty sure rules state promotions occur first then necessary number of relegations. So effectively island Bay won't get relegated in the first place. Phew.
2018 regulations are published.

New regs and an intent statement that regrading of players to come down the leagues to help out relegation threatened second teams is banned.
This looks new as well:
Teams will be required to have a minimum of eight New Zealand Qualified
Players (out of a match day squad of sixteen) on a teamcard in the same
match, plus up to seven non-New Zealand Qualified players and one
Oceania Player

thats not quite right, teams can still drop 3 players as per the re-grading rules
What they are stopping is the National League players that don't play until near the end of the season and then turned out in lower leagues as they didn't have any grading. Now they are saying that if you're a NL player you will be automatically graded to your clubs 1st team, no matter if you have played this season or not
University should be happy and Cap 9 will never be the same again!
Common sense to be honest. Although not everything Miramar did was above board - Wairarapa's Sam Mason-Smith turned out for Miramar in Cap 9 so remains to be seen if this stops them.

reports of SV's death have been greatly exaggerated
So are they in or out?
They have a new coach and are still in by all accounts. May even by the sounds of it have a half decent team.

Edit: or was he a Wairarapa player at that time?
This will get all clubs -
Any player who reaches 66% of league matches for any one team cannot re-grade down again to a team in a lower division for the remainder of that season. This includes players who have played 66% of Central League matches entering into a tier 1 team.

SMS was a Wairarapa player so shouldn't have been playing for Miramar at all, heard there were a couple of other players of similar level that turned out for the Cap 9 side, which when you're at a club that has 3 teams in the top 4 divisions really is just taking the p155
The 66% rule was there last year, so nothing new

Which saw us get relegated. Still fuming about it. They hadn’t won a game all (half) season, then toward the end suddenly started putting top sides in the grade away.

We werent involved in said games. We were puzzled about their sudden turn around in results then found out why when we played Olympic and talked to them in our club rooms the week after they had lost 4-3 to Miramar.
Plus it’s social football, so not worth the effort. If they want to cheat to avoid relegation in the 10th or 11th tier of Wellington football then I feel a bit sorry that their lives are so meaningless that they need that kind of validation.
Think all of this was already discussed in the cap 9 thread from last year anyway. #modsTakeControl #jesusWept

sorry missed that - same rule as last year but looks as if they've increased the %age number

Decreased. I'm pretty sure it was 75% in the past.
I think 12 games is a bit unfair to be honest. What about the player that plays 12 games then gets injured and and comes back two weeks later but can't get back into his squad? Does he just sit on the sidelines watching? 14 was a bit more reasonable.
Think 12 is good. Means teams have to be smart about how they do it. There should though be a dispensation for this scenario in the regs
This one's interesting
6.5 Up to three players in total can be re-graded down from any one team per match :
i. up to three players can be re-graded one league down from where their usual team plays
ii. any one team can only receive three re-graded players per game
So either I'm reading it wrong, or it's been badly written, or it's meant
but this effectively stops teams without a team in the division directly below them being able to use 2nd teams as reserve teams
you read it wrong and it's badly written :)

I'd take badly written, but reading it wrong is pretty hard. It quite clearly states "up to three players can be re-graded one league down from where their usual team plays".
So players from Cap 1 can't play Cap 3.
I wouldn't be surprised if they quietly rewrite it (like they did with rolling subs in the W-League last year).
I assume they mean one league as in down to the clubs next team down. So if they have a Central League, a Cap 1 and a Cap 2. They players can't go from Central league to Cap 2 but will be fine going down to next league that they have a team in so Cap 1. Poorly written but I'd assume that's what they mean.

That's what I assume they mean as well, but as it's written, a league is a league, not a team. Though if that is what they mean, the Phoenix kids could turn out in Cap 6 or wherever the Wellington United "second" team is, which is silly.
I don't see what was wrong with the old re-grading rules, to be honest. The "national league players are automatically graded to the first team" bit and getting rid of ungraded players covers Uni's crying from last season, so I don't see what the point of changing the drop from two leagues down to one is.

Turning out for the Elite on Melrose would be a nasty shock for them.

Please we need a couple of players tonight. Think the weenix lads would be keen.

Yip, we had a knight in shining armor come in at the 11th hour.
Basically a whole new team
