Big last day for second place. IBU led Wests by 3 points and a goal difference of 6 goals. Both playing teams in lower part of division.
IBU end up losing 3 nil while Wests beat a depleted Karori (apparently helping out thirds) 4-1 which leaves both teams on same points and same goal difference. So down to goals for, and Wests nab second spot and with it automatic promotion to Capital Premier by one goal!

Wharf didn't regrade anyone. Just soundly beaten though maybe Wests were a bit stronger than norm. If you take out Dave Webb and Poly we've had an average age of about 17 for the later half of the season

I think referring to two of the old lads (betters and Nelson) who are away more often than they play and have thus been peddling their wares for the thirds. Useful to have to bolster a team full of youngsters but not necessary I guess.

Yeah just to clarify that those two players have been with the thirds for the last ten games or so.
Don't want it sounding like we (thirds) stacked our team when that has been our regular line up for most of the season.

Lets hope he can entice a few of the Division 5 team to return to competitive Football. It makes no sense having the first and second team struggling whilst the Div 5 team is running up huge scores.

Think this league will be very tight other than I think Upper Hutt getting away from the pack. Close games to open the season, a couple of 1-1 draws and one goal winning margins.
How can Upper Hutt be favourites, only managed a draw with Tawa seconds, lady Goal Keeper won't foot it she's just not good enough, drops easy balls in womens CL, heard she was at fault for Tawa's goal but also pulled off a great save
