So Miramar beat IBU 3-2, bit of an upset
Capital 1
As i have mentioned earlier in this thread.
the second time round is usually harder as the easy beats have a new plan or two and the players in the team will also grow/develop with experience if they have some good coaching.
even lower hutt gave NW a harder game today and from reports it could of been a draw and neither side would of lost face as it was that close.
round two will have some more upsets i am sure so IBU shouldn't feel too bad.
though IBU do seem to run hot and cold which makes me wonder if there is some player combo that is broken up by work/study commitments.
Have heard from a couple of individuals that Mar had a pretty decent side. Possibly an advantage of having home games on Sundays (which I've said before I don't think should be allowed.) Island Bay may want to double check the team sheet..

I am aware there are re grading rules but people are known to make mistakes

i agree that on this rule mistakes are usually few and there is also the occasional deliberate breaking of this rule as well as sometimes the spirt of this rule.
the Rule of X number of a higher grade players may play in a lower division has been around since grading of teams….
Get over it and accept it as it is part of all football leagues.
if you see a major breach then say so at the game so it can be checked and corrected if a mistake truly has been made and if not then the cat is out of the bag like…..rather than later on after the game when you have lost and complain like i spoilt child.
but lets not open this box and check the team card when you see a problem tell the official asap and don't sign it until it is noted by the official or sorted. simple.
rules are rules i do support the rules but i also support sportsmanship and taking it on the chin when the final whistle blows
For Clarity 3 players can be moved down from the team above and one from a team 2 above.
A player is not considered to be re graded once they have played two consecutive games for a team below.

It's not the match officials job to take care of eligibility matters like this. They've got enough to worry about without being forced to make sure that all players are eligible for the team they are playing for.

Agree. Post match , refs should be concentrating on their fabricated incident reports

I have looked at the regulations on Capital Football site but what is not clear to me is if the Club's higher graded team plays on Saturday, then can players who have played on the field for this Team on the Saturday be re graded down to play for the next team down on the Sunday?

it does raise a fair question as to whether they gain an advantage if the first team is consistently playing on a Sunday though.

True, but how many clubs would consistently risk first team players that are regular first team players?
I guess "the Spirit" of the regulation is to allow fringe players to get game time.

Really? tell us more Feverish

i agree in principle but it is the refs job to make sure the people on the card are the players listed.
and the officials from each club to make sure those people on the card supplied the Ref are allowed to be there.
so between the officials it should be sorted at the start.
i did not mean the ref was to be a policeman i was being liberal with the match officials label to include club officials
so if you see a problem tell the opposition clubs official to correct his card as you have spotted a error. (better)

You are beating Feverish's favourite drum.

i will start banging the bongo drum then as i feel it is stupid to do this sunday stuff every week
unless all teams in a grade play the same day we will never stop the potential team stacking.
if all central teams played sunday then all these teams could drop players to play other divisions in there club and it would be fairer to all the central league clubs….
i wil now bring out the bass drum and say midweek games across the board seem to advantage some clubs better than others when i look at the results over the last couple of years.
drums put away.
I think it's just shark because to be honest who wants to play on a Sunday? It's a religious day! The religion of being hungover.

it is also the day the ladies play and most clubs cannot afford too have two sets of facilities so we know who will and dose miss out.
at least the u17 (they don't drink) play in the morning so this is no big issue with them but a clubs first team always gets the top time and park.
could be some interesting results in this grade this weekend with the chatham cup on.
those clubs with teams in higher grades and are out of the chat am cup will have lots of available players to sure up there cap one teams if needed.
and the teams with Chatham cup commitments might have to pull players from cap one to strengthen there bench incase of extra time.
so lets see if we get any surprises this week.
We have seen a improvement from lots of teams in round two but it's that upset or thrasing i'm waiting to see if happens this week….
2.1 to Norths vs whitby
3-2 norths
IBU 5-2 over Wellington United
Final score whitby 2 norths 3
Final score whitby 2 norths 3
tawa take down the swifts….
maybe not so swift????
thats a bit of a shock result or has the changes at tawa started to work across the board????
and has marist found some form late in the season? or is it that home ground bogey man again???
still NW now 11 points clear so even the bogey man might not stop them this season...
Not sure what you mean about Marist finding late season form being we are only just at the 2/3 season mark and their form over the last 1/3 has been WDWWDW. As for a bogey ground both teams have to play on it and i believe KP2 and Kura park are in the same quality as Kilbirnie park so dont see how that makes a massive difference.
Only a matter of a couple of weeks now before North Wellington secure an untouchable spot in the top 2 for a deserved chance at promotion. Who cares what has gone on behind the scenes over the last couple of seasons they have delivered so far this year on the pitch and deserve their spot at the top.
i was agreeing that marist have started to win and late comes after early i feel and i was meaning boogy man as in supernatural not bog and was pointing towards last season when marist at home was like impossible to beat even the top teams like BNU and NW failed to walk away with points.
i also agree with your NW comment and i feel NW first team this year can take heart that they can drop a game or two and still get into the top two if not top one and win the promotion but i am also not silly enough to say it is in the bag and put the jew jew on them.
Six games an 11 points. I am silly enough to say it would be the biggest choke since the Americas Cup and Jimmy Spittles win over team Nz For Nw to let this slip
Tawa 0 North Wellington 2 @ halftime
No change at full time.
Wdu vs north Wellington postponed
Nw 2 Wharfies 0
Nw 4 Wharfies0
6-0 nw vs Wharfies
anyone know how Western Suburbs got on against Marist?
A loss or a draw means North Wellington win the league - If Wests won North Wellington need 1 point to win the league
I think we will be moving forums at the end of the season.
