Given results so far interesting game next weekend between Karori and Wests. And also North Wellington vs. Wellington United for slightly different reasons.

According to Twitter, NW are 2-1 down to United must be nearly fulltime and Wharf beat Wests 2-1 in the early kick off

And whalfies gave west's a bloody nose at the top as well but west's may of pulled a few for the latter big Rapa game that they won convincingly (5-3).

Id say that United may have been assisted by the Weenix yesterday,  since the Weenix beat a Kapiti side that has shipped truck loads of goals only 3-1 in the Premier league

I can confirm without any doubt whatsoever, there was not a weenix representative in sight.  In fact we were so short the coach played.  I'm lacing up next week.

if this the case then a good win to you guys.

i herd from a couple of people who watched that your team had a bit more structure and this may be from the experience of the coach on the field to conduct the flow of the game.

it sounds as if the NW boys showed good skills but lacked something to make it work in there favour so the rematch will be interesting to see and if the result is turned around.

but well done to get off the egg and take 3 points.

yeah it seems discipline not a strength at NW anymore.

i hope they still have the policy of players paying there own fines so they learn not to do stupid things like retaliate and hit/kick people….

i also hear that they had a red the previous week as well so the referees retirement fund is getting larger quick this year ;-)

how young are the Wests team? Someone on Sat said the player they were marking was 14. I didn't even think a 14 year old could get dispensation?

I am sure if this is the case the NW Management will back your protest seeing they had concerns with you playing a 16 year old two years ago if you can remember that nasty protest they put in.

It wouldn't matter for your Wharf lads anyway Feverish. They won didn't they?

Sparticus from that match few years ago that Wharf played a 15 year old, wasnt one of them Noah Billingsley? Now he certainly was good enough!

It does make a good point though. I do think that if your good enough your old enough!

Young Gav was quite a good football player in his day (better cricketer though). I played against him when Johnsonville were in Central League 3 (I still remember the crappy weather, a lovely bracing Alex more day). His son is a quality player as well.

just herd that Wellington United didn't show at NW club for the after match speech's which i was going to bitch about.

But i have just done a recall of last year and remembered the last time they meet at Alexmoore  NW team walked out as they walked in and so i understand why they might not feel welcome.

i am sure the membership of NW will understand and hope they come back next year to enjoy some hospitality.

happy for Teza to correct me on last years no show at home as he posted a totally incorrect to me but backed it with no facts to contradict my original post but then i am always wrong in the eyes of the ones who cannot say sorry when they are wrong.

i am happy too if you have some facts.

anyway they stayed for a long time last year and i cannot remember no fluffies that day just some older ladies who can and do play football for the club…..

and i would not call them fluffy to there face.

Yeah we (WU) didn't go back because no one from NW went to their own after match last year so we thought would be the same again. However, upon reflection we should still have gone back. Fluffies are frothed milk or something like that?

haha they probably wouldn't be classed as fluffies even if there was an alternate meaning

defn: Children are generally welcome in New Zealand cafés with many offering toys, high chairs and a kids menu. Many young mothers partake in a daily ritual of meeting up with friends at their local café to chat over coffee while the children play or indulge in their own special Kiwi brew - a ‘fluffy’.

Richard Hadlee (GK), Ian Smith, Bruce Edgar and John F Reid (GK) were other cricket stars

who played high level footy. Not to mention Vic Pollard, Mark Burgess, Grahame Bilby and

Ken Hough (GK) who played internationals in both cricket and football.

games this week of interest…..

possible upsets caused of injury or suspension……

transfers that have gone wrong or are about to happen……

defiantly a mare i think .

one player cannot make that much difference came he?

and anyway NW had a few bench sitters from last week so not there top turn out i think.

island bay seem to have struggled with grass and squeaked a 1-0 win so maybe the football gods where having some fun with the top teams this week?

lets hope both side are at full strength and on song for the return match on the turf…..

this league could have some good spice this year shown on the field.

yeah dicey is in. Didn't watch long enough to see if he still has it - but I assume so.

Ah can't rate Cripps after playing a season with him and it took him til the last game to score. He can fidn the back of the net in Cap1 though
