Very sad.
He died from Covi-19 aged 79
So many people are getting the virus in the UK and with 1000 per day dying, there are bound to unfortunately be a few major celebrities and retired sports people dying. Surpassing Italy and Spain in daily deaths now.
They started showing all episodes of "the Goodies" from episode number one only two weeks ago on the Jones channel on Sky.
(Every Wednesday night)
A nice unintended tribute.
The early seventies were liberal times - episode one has a topless woman, which you wouldn't see in a show aimed at kids these days...
The Goodies still holds up well and is entertaining for adults too.
I loved The Goodies when I was a kid. Will try and catch some episodes on Jones.
Peter Bonetti RIP
Outstanding keeper.
retired to live in the Mull of Kintyre. Jim McClean of Dundee United managed to talk him out of retirement and he played 7 games for United in 1979.
Brian Dennehy RIP

Norman Hunter RIP
World Cup hero from 1966
Fantastic player: Tough, physical but very skillful. He could really ping passes around with his left foot. Him & Jack Charlton at the back were formidable for Leeds
Team heaven has now got Bonetti in goal, Hunter at CB. a strong start for God. RIP both former players, they were good.
Michael Robinson has died of cancer aged 61.
Former Preston North End, Manchester City, Brighton, Liverpool, QPR and Osasuna player. He settled in Spain in 1989 and became a football pundit.
Won the European Cup with Liverpool in 1984.

I remember him being outstanding in the 1983 FA Cup Final and the replay for Brighton against Man Utd.
A great underdog performance by Brighton which captured my imagination as a teenager.
Resulted in him being snapped up by Liverpool.
Former Leeds United legend and England player Trevor Cherry has died aged 72. RIP
Bonetti, Hunter, Cherry & Robinson. God is assembling a decent team.
Former Leeds United legend and England player Trevor Cherry has died aged 72. RIP
A fine player: very consistent & versatile too. A better option at right back for England than Mr Mediocre (Phil Neal) IMO
All White Keith Nelson
played for Hamilton and Mt Wellington in National League in 70s and 80s
unlucky not to be part of the 82 team
Now there was a very likable bloke. RIP my friend.
I should have done this back in February but I didn't. But here is my piece on his career, which includes some of the Scottish stuff that people here may not have been aware of. A legend from Cambuslang to Hamilton (the NZ one) & Auckland
Little Richard RIP
I remember his hits --- Good Golly Miss Molly, Tutti Frutti and a few more.

One of the original rock 'n roll trailblazers. Only Jerry Lee Lewis left now (I think ).
Jerry Stiller... (Ben's dad in real life, and George Costanza's dad in Seinfeld - among many many other roles).
Tony Dunne RIP
A top player.
RIP my oma who just passed away.
Aaron Tokona, Geographica is still one of the best albums ever produced in NZ.
Theo Foley, George Graham's assistant when Arsenal won their first title for 18 seasons back in 1989, has sadly passed away. RIP.
Jack Charlton Legend
Paddy Breslin can remember watching him
Peter Green - co founder of Fleetwood Mac. Aged 73, in his sleep. I still rate the original group that specialised in a more bluesy sound as the best.
Paddy Breslin can remember watching him
I am very sorry to hear this. Paddy was a great bloke and a lot of fun with good humor
Alan Parker - Director of "The Wall" (Pink Floyd's masterpiece), "Midnight Express" etc.
Ben Cross - Actor in Chariots of Fire (Played sprinter Harold Abrahams) & as Spock's father in the newish Star Trek reboot. Aged 72, after a short illness.
I can't believe Chaswick Boseman hasn't been put up on here. Black Panther - in that role, he was pretty good. But my favourite film of his was Number 42 as Jackie Robinson - The first "black" player to appear in the Major Leagues. A very good film that confront's some terrible treatment.
RIP Sir. Your career may have been short but you have done some excellent work.
Diana Rigg RIP
Acting legend.
Emma Peel in leathers did wonders for a young lad
The very first Mr's Bond. I always thought she had mischief eyes that smiled - in a good way of course. Did more for feminism than burning the bra did. She showed females can lead in the Avengers and in the Bond film.
RIP Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones.
Used to love watching him in the early 90s.

He was only 59. Far too soon.
Ron Cobb, one of the most prolific and impactful designers in cinema history, died this week at the age of 83.
Cobb is a name that’s well-known to film nerds, but maybe not so much to the general public. That’s wild, considering he worked on some of the most successful and influential films from the 1970s, ‘80s, and ‘90s: Star Wars, Alien, Back to the Future, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Conan the Barbarian, The Abyss, The Last Starfighter, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, to name just a few.
On Star Wars, he designed some of the creatures in the Cantina scene, including the Hammerhead. On Back to the Future, he helped refine the design of the DeLorean to give it the DIY look that made it so memorable. For Alien, he did the exterior and interior of the main setting, the Nostromo. He helped Steven Spielberg come up with the idea for E.T. and had a cameo in the film. He designed all the ships in The Last Starfighter.
RIP Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones.
Used to love watching him in the early 90s.
