NZ cricket = rip off merchants.
That's the idea, few mates, crank the barby up etc. I'm watching it on my HD with HD TBox and it's as good as being there.
Was going to check the test out at the basin but if i have to pay 33 bucks to get in I'd rather stay home buy a 12 pack and watch it on tv.
Craig McMillan is almost causing me to throw my beer through the screen though. He's terrible. Whose idea was it to get him into TV, surely we can do better.

I don't need to be reminded mate!! But nah, plenty of [free] beers around during/after a test match so we make up for it after play on the last day. Fingers crossed for good weather is all I can say, makes my job 100x easier.
You'd think we have better commentators but who knows, I take it you'll be working next test so no cold beers for it.
I think someone suggested it a few pages back but was shot down by The Man. Don't think the YF like the feral cricket crowds. Or something along those lines.
Everyone gonna be in the Yellow Fever zone for the ODI on the 22nd of Jan?
So that's what your sign said.
Come back for good please EG.
Nah, went with Rojas for PM. Not that it would of made any difference anyway. But that is a discussion for another thread. That's real unfortunate, it would have gone down well in Hamilton and no doubt would have been talked about/got tv time. Gutted bro
LOL.
Just saw that Mumbai have bought Symonds in the IPL auction. Guess who else plays for Mumbai.......H. Singh.
Here's my email to NZ Cricket:
I agree mate, was fuming. Got cash out on the way to semi reluctantly pay $50 for my wife and I only to find out at the gate that I needed 66 f**king dollars for a day of test cricket on a ground with no shade!
(On a side note, I feel really sorry for the dude in the booth, he sounded so relieved that we were polite about asking why the extra $16 than advertised, it was only 10.35 and i'm pretty sure he had been dealing with irate people all morning for something that isn't his fault.)
Was probably going to go on Monday but there is zero chance of that now. Do they not want people to go to the game - its not like the test gate is a crucial revenue stream for them.
Wife is probably sending an email aswell so you won't be the only one.
At first I didn't have much sympathy for you about the beer - you did bring it in, but on reflection, for a single beer they really could have just winked, confiscated it, had a laugh, say 'don't do it again' and let you get on with the day.
Also, f**k it was hot!
This whole thing is crazy. Talk of unavailability though...
Gayle just went unsold!
was the $8 a booking fee?
Nope, $3 booking fee, the extra $5 was an unadvertised ramp up at the gate as opposed to prebooking.
McCullum's gone for only $475,000 to Kochi
McCullum's gone for only $475,000 to Kochi
There were no such details but it seams to be all over the show. Unless the injury he had over xmas/ny made the bidders a bit weary, I have no idea.
don't encourage him, TL, he's angry enough as it is...
Here's my email to NZ Cricket:
Congrats on becoming a complete joke outfit, both on and off the pitch. $33 for a day of test cricket? Who the f**k are you kidding? When have we ever played test cricket worthy of $33 as the price of admission? Never. So well done on pricing out the regular fan. 5 years ago i was able to go watch us play the world champion Aussies over all 5 days for just under $33. No wonder crowds are dire. Second, get rid of this neo-nazi stance the Red Badge have, where they absolutely must uphold the law to the letter of it. Me and a mate drove all the way from Auckland to the 2nd day of the test in Hamilton today, expecting to only pay $25 and watch a good days' test cricket. Instead we had to pay $8 extra and got booted out within minutes of entry. Why? 1 solitary can of beer. Which by the way was PASSED upon not one but TWO, yes TWO security/ticket checks while entering the ground. If it was that much of a big deal why wasn't it confiscated? Take the can and let us be, we weren't causing trouble, we're not the f**king Al Qaeda. But noooooo, old Mr Jobsworth here had to flex his almighty muscle of power and throw us out. Guess he's never made a mistake in his life huh? Unlike yourselves, who are renowned for them on a regular basis (employing Greatbatch, top move guys). So forget about getting any more money from either of us. And wait till we spread the word, you'll be f**ked. People won't stand for this sh*t. Sort it out or NZ cricket will once and for all go to the dogs.
Peace xx

Not for you, but a class email.
Rough. I'd have dropped Andy Moles name in there with Greatbatch.
Hope you get a response from them. I agree about the ticket prices after thinking about it [and the extra $8 makes a difference]. They think their product is worth $33 a day but they are kidding themselves. Their marketing campaign is sh*thouse as well. 'The only cricket series of the season', 'rugby rugby rugby rugby rugby rugby cricket' That is not going to get the turnstiles ticking. 1) It's Pakistan B and there is no interest in seeing them, no hype. 2) It's to expensive.
Justin Vaughan out.

Me and a couple of mates got into hamilton with a dozen, but f**k paying 33 bucks to watch the black caps

Yeah seams a bit ill or something. Hope he comes right

Eh, doesn't have to be official, but everyone who is going can just meet up there. Im a Perth fan, will wear a scarf. So if you see me, remember I am self denying the Ashes existed outside of the test match I witnessed at the WACA :P
The other three only amounted to about 1 1/2 tests anyway. I'll be there but working so can't join you. Again, fingers crossed for good weather!
need a wicket

I had to google Robin Uthappa. 2.1 million? They really ARE mental.
Yeah and Johan Botha is tits and he pulled 950k
Oh and Vettori got more than McCullum. Vettori has been sh*t lately.
Ryder misses out, his 100k price tag, not worth the problems... injuries & off-field
Dissappointed to say I won't be attending the test. f**ked if I'm paying $33 to watch that sh*t..
Admittedly is very similar to a nix admittion... so is that a bit steep aswell?
Was curious to see what the price of a 5 day pass was.
$81 including booking fee. f**k me.
I paid $48 to watch the same 2 teams play last summer...
