Didn't have a TV to watch this one in Kl. Tegal you would have been proud of me listening to this on my phone on radio sport in the lounge at the Hilton. When elliot hit his six there was a scream and a fist pump. The Malaysians and Americans looked around stunned at this dumb kiwi

Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow. That was terrifying. So so so so good. We're going to a World Cup final and we've got a serious shout at winning the thing. Makes all the shark days worth it. Sat at my desk listening to it on the radio, I was up from my desk, was on my knees below my desk, throwing my arms about.

Went through a lot last night. It was a journey.

Up early to get into work to make up for leaving early yesterday to watch that, and I'm struggling to get anything done. Mentally drained.

Still can't believe it.

Holy shark, what a game of sport. I retract my statements earlier this year about struggling to be interested in one day cricket! Phenomenal drama, and played in great spirits too. Feel sorry for the Saffers, that choking tag must hurt.

To be fair to the Saffas they didn't choke - either team could have one, both had chances, both showed nerves, both made their share of mistakes. Their class and humility in defeat has been most impressive.

Yeah I agree, but that's not going to help them banish that choking tag, which is why I feel sorry for them. On another note, it's great to come to work in the morning and have so many people buzzing about the cricket

To be fair, NZ are now actually living up to their potential that they have had for such a while but never delivered on. They have made it all happen in a timely fashion to peak right here so that's very good planning from them. The South Africans bowled and fielded across the whole innings better than we did in our but we never had to lash out and take risks when batting to get there (other than McCullums 1st 5 over cameo). I think if they look at the game again, I doubt South Africa would change anything other than how they handled the runout of Anderson and breaking the stumps correctly. NZ on the other hand let SA hit so many straight and never adjusted the field to get the 2 on the boundary straighter to stop those 4s. I suspect they will also want to address running between the wickets.

I heard this morning that the other semi has seen the majority of tickets sold to Indians so that will be interesting for that game. I still don't think Australia will lose in Australia but when you consider its a 1 off and the form NZ are in (and over achieved to be in the last 2 considering their ranking of 4) then anything can happen.

70k tickets sold to Indians apparently JV. Can't wait for tomorrows game!

And whoever wins will pretty well think/feel they're the Champions - which is perfect for us!

We have the wood on both of these teams mentally I think. They are expected to win, we have exceeded most expectations (except our own). I can't see us losing this now, we have won the toughest game of the tournament already. I remain postitive and bullish!

SCG capacity is 46,000.

How many empty seats at MCG on Sunday, if India don't make final?

If we can chase 298 off 43 in a semi, we can win from anywhere.

I love that post match interview with Hesson talking to Styris, saying how the whole team both players and staff acknowledge that not everyone is going to fire and players will have off days, but as long as the effort and team work is there they are generally forgiven because they all believe in one another as match-winners and believe they will all have their day in the sun eventually. The attitude and ethos within the team seams to be incredible.

At the beginning, I was a Hesson doubter - fair credit, he's well and truly turned me.

I'm looking forward to Anthony Hudson doing the same.

Also part of the reason Taylor should stay despite current form woes (he'll be unhappy with avg in this WC at 30.16 and slow strike rate). The team is solid, stable and any changes have been forced due to injury, a great sign of a great team.

Fair to say I fell apart during those last 5 overs or so. Can't imagine being in public while watching/listening to that game.

this is a team that has had an exceptional ability to get a match winning performance out of different players- BMac, Southee, Boult, Vettori, Elliot, Guptill, Williamson

with everyone else chiming in fairly well

Isn't it phenomenal, and tells you a lot about the rise of other players, that you don't include Taylor on that list? I'd still say that Taylor is our best player, not that long ago got 3 ODI tons on trot. Great player. Be great if he clicked off the back of a flying McCullum start, could see something very special.

At first I deadset wanted us to play India in the final but I've changed my mind - I want the Aussies there. If the rumours about 70,000 Indian fans at the MCG are true we'll be better off if India aren't there. Plus India's got quality spinners and Tahir's spell showed how badly mostly off our batsmen play spin. Finally, beating Australia at the MCG in a World Cup final would just be orgasmically good!
