You cannot be serious? Surely this can't be based on rugby reasons. Of course hes probably not scoring enough tries, only 3 in 3 games.
Kade Poki dropped for Stormers clash!!! Crazy

Not good enough to be an All Black why pick someone who's not as good as your opposition?
He was good enough to be an All Black, just never got the chance. Was the best 8 in the country for a couple of years.
Jokes right??

Agreed, in that Reid now > Waldrom, but a couple of years ago, Warldrom was much better. He should have been played at 8 with So'oialo at 7 for the Hurricanes, then he would have had his chance. Was easily good off to be an All Black squad member. Whether he would have pushed on to ever be good enough to hold a starting spot is doubtful, but easily good enough to be there or there abouts.

Yeah I agree to a point, that he was worthy to be in the squad for an end of year tour. I think So'oialo was highly underrated as a no.8 though (note use of "was"). The combination of So'oialo, Masoe, and Collins was world class, and I wouldn't have broken that up for Waldrom. Guess he was just unlucky to be at Wgtn at the time. Probably should have moved elsewhere sooner?
Thomas Waldrom is not better than Kieran Read, Adam Thomson, Victor Vito or Liam Messam. I'm not worried at all. Daniel Bowden in three years will be playing for England.
Agree on all but Warldrom>>>>>>>>>>> Messam.

Wasn't a big fan of Masoe, hence why I would have had Rodney at 7. He probably should have gone to another province earlier, but he is a Wellington boy. Maybe gone to Taranaki with his brother?
Hurricanes, you're sh*te.
Sack Herbert.....um I mean Hammet.
Not that it would have made a difference last night when our forwards just decided not to play for the last 60 (from what I could tell from flicking from the cricket), but WHY THE HELL IS CRUDEN NOT STARTING!? He is 100x better than Kirkpatrick.aitkenmike2011-03-26 11:53:30

Hammett should be very nervous right now!
That was one of the most embarrassing displays I can remember by the Canes. Truly pathetic.
Kirkpatrick wasn't the problem though. It seemed like after 15 mins the whole team just switched off. It was actually pretty dire. Coach has to take some responsibility for that.
Hammet sucks. But for those saying it was Kirkpatrick's fault, I have to disagree. Aaron Cruden can't kick goals very well. In fact, he's rubbish at it. He's okay to play when Piri Weepu is there, but when he's not, you have to pick your number one goal kicker.
Rubbish. He is kicking around 90% this season so far. His kicking has been better than Kirkpatrick's has been. He was poor last season for some reason, but can't be accused of that this season.
As for people saying the Hurricanes have always been inconsistent, thats somewhat true, but they have made the top 4 of a 14 team competition 4 years out of the last 6.
That is reasonably consistent (no other NZ side other than Canterbury has done this more than once in the same period)so i'm sick of hearing that they have always been inconsistent and Hammet has been brought up to 'bring some Canterbury discipline into the team'.
Agree 100%
I'm not usually one to jump on this bandwagon, but Hammet should never have been coach in the first place.
You reckon seven years isn't enough or is too much?
Cheers for that Luis
Worse yet, Cory Jane's twitter suggests Kade Poki is off to Japan at the end of the season. Next Dan Bowden? is on the outer, signs a huge contract overseas then picks up form and is one of the leading players in the country.
Doubt he would ever be an all black, so cant blame him if he goes for the big bucks.
Turns out Poki was injured. Stuff.co.nz says he was an exclusion but gave no reason why. In fact they said they weren't sure and alluded to it being something other than injury, but the Marlborough Express said he was injured.
This made me laugh, by Greg Growden:
The other justifiable gripe is that scrums are getting in the way of a good match, because of the inordinate amount of time it takes for the set-piece to be completed. Scrum resets are a blight on the game, but what has been as disconcerting this season is that referees have turned the ''crouch-touch-pause-engage'' routine into a torture test.
It's now taking up to six or seven seconds for referees to utter those four exasperating words, to the extent it has become ''pause-pause again-pause once more and while we're at it let's keep that pause going''. One scrum in the Force-Blues match on Saturday night had to be reset because the two front rows, who were close to nodding off, as they had been motionless for so long, packed against each other before ''engage'' was uttered by referee Nathan Pearce.
Man the canes are ass.
Lost to the HLanders in week 1, struggled to beat the Chiefs last week, lost to the Blue today, how much worse can they get?
Not sure, but its getting to the point where if we lose to the Rebels Hammett or whatever the coaches name is will be a bit nervous.
If you loose to the Rebels then give up. Good work Blues !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't agree with Hammet's appointment to start with.
So the three suprise wins have been followed by 2 expected losses against imho the 2 best sides in the competition. All is not lost however and the Highlanders can hope to, on the back of a postive winning record after 5 games push on. Bye this week (4 pts in the bag) followed by the Brumbies and Cheetahs at home and Rebels away. Realistically we should win all of those b4 playing all four nz teams in succession. Its still looking positive for us.
Four points for the bye is ridiculous. Everyone has it, so why not zero points?

He wasn't even rated above So'oialo for the Hurricanes. Let alone the All Blacks.
Handy provincial player, but fringe All Black at best. No way he'd rate above Keiran Read now.

Awful display by the Canes.
Agree with earlier posts, but Scott Waldrom for the AB's??? He's in some form at the mo
They definitely have the players so clearly they are the most underrated team in world cup imo
Help required. This photo was found hanging in a Norewegian restuarant. The guy thought it might have been an early QPR team photo seeing the hoops. But a few of us reckon it's a rugby photo and my guess is Hawkes Bay & Waikato.
What do you guys think?
Not pretty, but I'll take it.

I've sat through some pretty ordinary seasons, but this is a truly woeful year to support the Canes.

I think this might be the year the Highlanders actually pull it all together and get close to the playoffs if not in them.So much years of pain finally coming up trumps
Am getting quite nervous about the new turf on half way for tonight's game.
