Week one done... Don't forget picks for week two. I actually streamed the Sainters....what a waste of time. I'm picking them again though against Richmond
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL! - The Fever AFL Thread
Who is going to AFL? I need to get me some tickets. Who wants some?
My wife is going......but you can't go with her (I'm going to be in Sydney).
In other news....Some tough picks this week. Pies Vs Hawks.....Tigers vs Bulldogs....Freo Vs Bombers....My poor old man Sainters. C-Diddy topping the league!
Tickets sorted... in other news, I'll be in Brissy on the day we play the Eagles - so... taking the g/f shopping or going to the Gabba...
No, there wasn't a question mark.

Sounds like a perfect reason to go with her?
Sorry man....she's going with her other husband
Is anyone on this forum actually going to the footy?
Yep! Mainly for the novelty factory. I'll have no idea what on earth is happening in front of me, but meh.
Just make sure you shout BAAAALL when someone gets tackled. I reckon you will enjoy it

I will be there, with 6 or 7 others, again for the novelty factor, never seen a game live before, watched a couple on TV, and looking forward to it.
St Kilda is doing a NZ shirt for the game.
See you all there in Aisle 23.
Reliable source- Durante will be taking part in the AFL 9s showcase along with Pulse players at half time
Heard on the radio 19,000 tickets have been sold! My Saints lost to Essendon if anyone cares...think we will struggle to beat Sydney

You said sports attendance, you didn't really need to add "(bar sevens)"

Wind adjusted ;-)
If its a bit windy on Thursday, we may see a few behinds. Aussies not being used to a little wind and all that.
Getting points for missing the goal. Brilliant.
Pumped.
just saw the Sydney team coming out of their hotel and on to the bus to go to a training or something.
I know it is not a very exiciting post, but neither is AFL.
Just heard from a mate of mine who is a saints fan and he reckons there are heaps of them coming from all over Aussie . Apparently saints have made a big effort to get their fans here.So hopefully it should be a good atmosphere as there will probably be a heap of Sydney fans as well.
Will probably be a bit more exciting than some of our efforts this season Frankie.
Can see all the Aussies being well impressed with the surcharge because of the public holiday for their booze.
Mate reckons they have organised a pub in town and requested bulk amounts of Bundy to be on hand.LOL
lol @ 'Atmosphere' and 'Sydney fans' in the same sentence.

Seen a few lost looking Aussies around town this morning.
This includes a Collingwood fan.
The prosecution rests.
Ferals.
I find it amazing that 20000 Wellingtonians will turn up for foreign game when they will not support a local football team.
It is a fucking disgrace.

1 off games always attract bigger crowds for the novelty factor, and they actually put effort into marketing their games.
Huge novelty factor. Like when the Phoenix go to Auckland etc, if we go every year the novelty factor wears off for some. But that first time we went we got 20k. Same thing here, first game of AFL here that I can think of and possibly ever. I'm going purely for the novelty factor and to experience something new. Nothing disgraceful about that is there?
