Out of interest, and I admit I haven't watched any westham games this season. But have they gone back to the more "continental" style of football that the fans were clamouring for?
I remember at football united their version of tiki taka seemed to be pass it around the back for a bit and then long ball it up the field.
yep. Fat Sam's long ball tactics worked in the championship but with better players (Sakho, Valencia, Kouyate, Song) he can afford to go back to the way we used to play in the 70s and 80s. Fan pressure worked on the owners who worked on Sam. I'd like to think the NZ tour was a squad in transition but the reality was Phoenix were commited and we were shark.
Well, Nolan and Cole have hardly played together much since, and you've had Sakho and Valencia up front, and Song (was he on the Footy United tour?) anchoring and Mannying anyone hanging around your midfield. So as a potential West Ham convert I'll say you were in transition...
and as a potential convert what would tip over the edge into a sea of bubbles?
A good finish to the season. I guess not losing Reid would help, but that looks like it probably will happen. Also not losing the fluid and creative style you've been developing this year, while continuing to be strong on the ball. I guess I wouldn't mind seeing Downing whip the heck out of the Spanish creative mids too. Finishing ahead of Arsenal and Everton. Making half a step towards being an established top table club, a threat to the clubs who are buying the league.
Eh, I guess I used to follow Blackburn when Nelsen was there, and Man U from Brian Robson on until Rooney and Ronaldo(brats), but I've never really been a real fan of any EPL team.
This squad has the potential to be something. It's been great to see Swansea, Newcastle and the Hammers to continue to threaten and challenge the supremacy of the petrodollar champs. I'd to see the Hammers be something better than the the latter two. Appreciated Downing's professionalism in NZ- gave us a real show and still is. Yeh. Style, strength. determination and some results could about do it...always liked the theme tune.
