Hello from Canada.
Looks like Ryan Nelsen poached your star player Jeremy Brockie who is now on loan at Toronto FC.
I don't follow A League too closely, so can you guys give your thoughts on this guy? Cheers

Had a good year goal scoring, probably surprised many as he hasn't been a consistent scorer in the league previously. Brilliant natural talent who can score some spectacular goals, however goes missing for long times in matches and can sometimes look a bit lost tactically as a striker (runs aren't that great). I've always thought he really needed some good coaching - it really could go either way with him. I'd definitely be gutted if he left us though, I think he's got loads to offer.
Big call. Good luck to him.
Wonder if he knows about it, as he was getting a tattoo of his new babies name on his arm yesterday.
Do the A-League and MLS seasons overlap?
If yes, what does this mean?
Finishes Oct 26, when does A League start?
Good move for him if it comes off

He's still got 2 years on his contract so I'd love it if he was sold off haha.
How common is it for MLS sides to buy a player though? I thought it was about the same as A-League - ie rare
pretty sure this loan is just to keep him playing for long off season, Toronto need a goal scorer, he's available and wanting to play - it's a win-win. It would be pretty stupid if we sold him after being our best goal scorer.

Why would we be sending him otherwise? Literally the only thing that could happen is he gets injured

Ok so I presume we are actively looking for loan moves for all of our players in the off season? I don't understand it personally just as I didn't get the Durante move. Surely all you can do is turn their head if it goes well
Nice one for brockie, with a long off season I reckon the club should look at doing more of it. I'm sure there are plenty of leagues going on at the mo we could look at/players could look at.
I really hope he doesnt come back injured.
The Wellington Phoenix has agreed to loan Jeremy Brockie to the Ryan Nelsen-coached MLS League club Toronto FC.
General Manager David Dome said the club had been working with Toronto to bring the deal to fruition and he is pleased that Brockie is getting the opportunity to taste life in another top league.
“It is a great opportunity for Jeremy as the MLS is of a good standard, and it is possible that Jeremy could come back an even better player than he now is,” Dome said.
“The break between seasons in the A-League is too long and the club has been looking for opportunities for some of the players to play football in other leagues in an effort to get greater benefit from the break.
“Michael Boxhall is currently on loan to the Oakleigh Cannons in the Victorian Premier League as part of this programme”
“Both Clubs have also agreed to work closely together on football issues following on from this deal so it’s a great association to have”
Brockie will return to the Phoenix in August.
love how the club cant even get Michael's last name right
Hope Brockie does well, tho am a little surprised Nelsen didn't look at Smeltz. Brockie's star is on the rise atm tho.

For all you know he did, but Smeltzy has to go on important shopping trips with his missus over the break.
Maybe she didn't like Toronto.
Look forward to streaming some Toronto games now.

Lol at Smeltz. poor bastard
Maybe she didn't like Toronto.
Smeltz would be much much much more expensive and hugely out of form.
On the other hand Brockie is from Nelson.. and Nelsen might like that
As part of the deal could we please have Nelsen on loan in the MLS off-season?
a coach loan?
I meant as a player although I was only semi-serious
Lets hope its not a Hogg type situations. Train with the team, play two reserve games, get slammed, return home early
