Elliott Collier (Indy Eleven | USA)
Has a double after 11 mins in the USL at home to bottom side (Eastern Conference) Hartford Athletic.
Finishes with hatrick in a 4-1 win.
Got his hat-trick in the 75th minute.
Final score 4-1. Much needed win to be fair.
Taken off at 76 mins, after his 3rd goal. Bit of class with the 3rd.

Hopefully sets up the rest of his season nicely, not forgetting Hartford are currently have the least points of all 36 teams in the USL - so not the strongest opposition he'll face.
Surely worth a look at with the AWs in November.
Jeez that 3rd was very good for a big guy. Actually looked very graceful in the process weaving in between those Hartford players. '
Needs to kick on with a few more goals this season, but excellent to see him knock a few in, regardless of opposition.
Wow nice taken goals especially the third one. The opposition keeper didn't do well on then first two goals but Collier still have some work to do to score.
Seems quite tricky for a tall fellow, has a nice hip shuffle which seems to throw defenders off!
Made me wonder what kind of player Peter Crouch could have been if he ever ate!
didnt Crouch have one of the best goals per minute played ratio for England? Seemed to do alright for his build. Just reading his book, great read by the way! Crouch doesnt understand its suprise for 6 7 player to have a "good touch" when that's what they have been doing all their lives.
Collier played alot of futsal growing up is it really a suprise that he is doing ok as a player now?
I actually rate Crouch... made the most of what he had. Happy for Collier, but I don't know hI'm at all beyond this forum and it's highlights. That said. Happy for him.
Charleston verus Memphis in USL, unfortunately called off due to the weather.

Full game in 2-2 draw with NY Red Bulls II.
Injury return with 30 mins off the bench in a 2-1 away win over Atlanta II.
Memphis were 1-0 down when he came on.
Memphis's USL match at Charleston postponed due to Hurricane Dorian.
Collier had been named in the starting lineup.
35 mins off the bench in a 4-2 win over Swope Park Rangers.
Was 2-2 when he came on, and credited with an assist for Memphis’s 4th goal.
68 mins in a 2-1 win at Loudon United.
1-1 when he was subbed off
Loudon had a player sent off at 58 mins.
Memphis an unlikely 11 pts off USL Eastern playoff spots.
Full game in a 1-0 win over St Louis.
40 mins off the bench in a 0-1 home loss to Pittsburgh (5th on table).
Same score when Collier came on.

Replaced at 61 mins, when home side already up 5 zip.
70 mins in a 3-0 loss at Indy Eleven.
Memphis down 2-0 when Collier subbed off.
Indy are 2nd in the Eastern Conference and had a crowd of over 13,000 - which is sizeable for the USL.
30 mins off the bench in a 1-2 home loss to Charlotte Independence.
Memphis down 0-1 when he came on.
Home side who are well out of the playoff hunt, had 2 players sent off at 75 & 96 mins.
Full game and a yellow, in a 2-0 loss at Charleston Battery (10th in the East).
Memphis are out the playoff hunt (15th), and host Louisville in their last USL game this weekend.
30 mins off the bench in a 1-2 home loss to Louisville City.
Season over.
New USL franchise Memphis finished with 4 straight losses, and 15th in 18 team Eastern Conference.
Be interesting to see what happens with Collier from here. Loaned to Memphis from MLS side Chicago Fire (8th in the East and just missed MLS playoffs).
26 games, 20 starts, 6 goals. So time out injured.
Seemed to have only a so so season in the USL. Never called back to Chicago even for cup games.
Can't remember whether he has his Green Card yet? Would help his prospects if he has.
Still be good to see what he can do in a white shirt in November - worth a start against Lithuania for a looksee.
From this week's Flying Kiwis, seems about to join Unattached FC.
ELLIOT COLLIER – CHICAGO FIRE (AMERICAN MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER)He made his international debut last week but this week Collier’s had his contract option declined by the Chicago Fire. One of nine players not picked up by the Fire including a number of first teamers as they celebrated a rebranding of the club with a shakeup of the playing roster (two weeks after dumping their coach). It’s still possible that Collier re-signs with the Fire on new terms though that feels unlikely given he would have been on pretty team-friendly contract numbers already as a fringe player. But he’s available for other clubs on waivers if they wanna claim his rights. - the waiver process in MLS being a lot like a draft process with clubs selecting in reverse order of their 2019 records (postseason included) and starting with the expansion sides. Collier doesn’t get to enter free agency yet as he hasn’t met the required years of service – yes, MLS contracts are massively and unnecessarily complicated. So for now he’s in an awkward limbo phase but the good news is that the waiver selections begin tomorrow NZT, meaning there should be some swift clarity to everything.
Collier played 16 games for Chicago Fire in the 2018 season, starting nine of them and scoring one goal in 904 minutes. At USL level he scored 1 goal in 11 games (550 minutes) on loan at Indy Eleven in the second half of 2018 and then scored 6 goals in 26 games (1832 mins) at Memphis 901 in 2019.
Up Next: [*chews fingernails nervously*]
Another Flying Kiwis player update.
Elliot Collier (Chicago Fire) – EC had a great run in the Fire first team after being drafted in 2018 but has spent most of the last 18 months away with USL teams on loan. His contract is up but he’s been invited to Chicago Fire preseason to trial for a new one. They’re in Florida for a two week camp currently, one of 28 players in that group with 8 of them currently uncontracted for whatever reason (youth teamers, trialists, or unsigned rookies).Collier played the entire second half of their opening preseason fixture – a 3-0 loss to Philadelphia Union.
Good on him. Hopefully he can crack some Fire MLS match day squads. No talk in that article of him being farmed out to another USL side.
AWs badly need someone to develop as a backup to Wood. Collier has the physical attributes to be that guy, but wasn't too impressive in those November AWs games. Chicago re-signing him should give him a confidence boost. Looks like Fire have a 2 week break around March's FIFA window, so should be available for AWs v Oman & Bahrain.
Makes 7 Kiwis now at MLS clubs - who knows Smith and/or Reid could still end up Stateside. Only Brotherton left in the USL.
Great news!
good stuff
Celebrated by scoring a goal in a pre-season game against Nashville
Today is officially Elliot Collier day. #cffc #cf97 pic.twitter.com/WlvjlbBUXX
— Chicago Fire FC (@ChicagoFire) February 6, 2020
Noted in this week's Flying Kiwis that he has scored 3 goals, in 3 pre season games for the Chicago Fire.
Sure is only pre season, but encouraging all the same.
AWs really do need to develop a back up to Wood.
From this week's Flying Kiwis. Also has 4 goals in 4 pre season games.
The Fire confirm Elliot Collier is not playing today, as he is traveling back to New Zealand to finalize the green card process.
Comes on at 70 mins, in a 2-1 loss at last season's MLS champions Seattle.
Score 1-1 when introduced. Sounders with a late 92 min winner from a corner.
does the thread title need to be changed?
Mods please update team to Chicago Fire
cheers
From this week's Flying Kiwis.
"Chicago Fire: “Chicago Fire FC announced today that forward Elliot Collier has received his U.S. Green Card, granting him permanent resident status in the United States. With permanent resident status, Collier, 25, will no longer occupy an international slot on the Fire’s roster.”
Right on.
For reference, other NZers in the MLS with green cards: Michael Boxall, James Musa, and Kyle Adams.
Meanwhile Tuiloma, Wynne, Reid, Billingsley occupy international roster spots."
On the bench as Chicago travel to New England in the MLS.
