everyone relax, it will all be sweet by opening day. No dodgy internet connections, no stutters. TV on - footballs coming home baby
Viewing the Premier League (live) 16/17...
Some people are talking about the BeIN internet service, not Sky.
lol I still don't understand
I have Sky TV Sports. The EPL will be shown on this, I don't have to buy any another channels or hook up a laptop to watch?
Sky picks out what match they wish to air live when there is more than one match on at the same time.
Some weeks I may not get to see the matches I'd like?
Yours faithfully,
Technology Challanged.
Copied this off the SKY site. Hope it helps.........(Thanks SKY for allowing me to copy this)

Cheers LG good work
Still not sure however if I now have to pay $11.96/ month extra :)
I have Sky Sports already.
Good question, if the answer is yes, I'd dump SKY Sports and get the football. The Olympics don't interest me when they are full of drug cheats, professionals and have sports that should not be there. But that is just me, not the other users on here.

I like the Phoenix and the NRL so Sky is a good option for me.
I liked PLP for options but was a pain in the ass to set up, the feed was sharke and having the commentary out of time with the visual drives me insane.
Yes you have to pay the $11.96 foal30. Otherwise no BeIN channels. You will apparently also be given access to the BeIN Connect service, from where I think you can see any game, any time, so similar to having PLP as well.
However no word on whether people without Sky can purchase BeIN Connect separately, there were mentions of this being possible for $18 per month earlier on.
Next question for me would be what games will be covered each weekend..not keen on paying just to see "top teams". And what about mid week games.
@theslammyb SKY Basic customers who subscribe to beIN will be eligible to access beIN SPORTS CONNECT at a future date at no extra cost.

@nufcnz Yes we will be up and running for the weekend's EFL Championship

Mrs Foal is adamant on no more money for Sky. Bit pissed off about it TBH. Football, Tennis and Golf fans got Sky up and running in NZ and all three have been shafted at some point. Ok cheers Paul.
With the Phoenix on Sky and the EPL on BeIN it's football fans over the barrel.
Woe is me.
Called today to sign up. Went through all automated prompts including the section for "press 1 to add Rialto, 2 to add Soho..." no option for BeIn so had to speak to someone, then within 20 seconds I got hung up on. Can't even take my money off me!

Hang on, wasn't one of your main gripes about PLP the fact that you had to fork out more money?
You still have to do that.
I do like the added option now though. Being on TV and online is the best of both worlds if it does work out that way (still doesn't seem to be confirmation of that). My only concern is that on demand games on BeIn connect won't be available immediately like they were on PLP. The online offering appears to be an inferior product, and won't even be available for the start of the season.
The Charity Shield (Community Shield) is live on ESPN on Sky at 3 am on Monday (repeats during the day).
Premier League games plus games from the other major European leagues will be available for free on demand on the website below.
The major pre-season friendlies are currently available.
The Charity Shield on the weekend will be up there on demand too a few hours after it finishes:

I find the video quality pretty good.
Bein Sports NZ now have a Facebook page:
Also posted by someone on the Arsenal NZ page:
Thanks AJC, good to see some official word.
So I guess I'm going to have to keep Sky for at least the first month if I want to see Round 1. Vodafone actually offered me a new deal yesterday which is looking rather appealing - overall $25 per month cheaper, and with faster internet.
So now have some decisions to make...
Just joined up to English Premier League
https://www.sky.co.nz/-/bein-sports
2 Channels 266 and 267 starting next Saturday 13th August
Web site is www.beinsports.com but will not be avaiable to next week but you can go into Australia to get a feel of it
How did you join up and has anything appeared on your Sky? My Mum said she phoned this morning and the girl she spoke to didn't seem to know what she was talking about. I'll leave it until mid next week when they should be set up properly.

I was told by sky it starts 9th August. But Bein on Twitter told me they were showing the championship on the weekend.....

Just asked on Twitter re if you pay the $11.96 do you get access to the beIN SPORTS Connect service for streaming (website and apps)...
the last word cut off there is 'feature'...
Well I suppose it is good to hear that the streaming service will be up at some point. Just a pity they couldn't be more organised to have in place for the opening round.
all i have heard is that beIN connect is def happening - I know there are some issues with getting it working for the SKY subscribers so maybe the same issue exists for direct subscriptions.
Is BeIN connect the website option for $18?
If yes, then why would it need to be working for Sky subcribers? They have Sky or SkyGo right?
Or have I got the wrong idea here - is this website option just an additional thing for Sky subscribers, and not available to people outside of that?
Wow that would be a massive kick in the face compared to their early comments if true.
It's both - people who subscribe to beIN via sky get beIN connect for free - or you will be able to subscribe directly (from what I have been told, that's a beIN thing not a SKY thing)
read somewhere about a question about Champions league - that will be covered in the new beIN package (beIN 2) but I'm not sure if SKY will simulcast on a SKY Sport channel as well - the content is beIN's so I would expect since they are taking 100% of the $11.96 that it won't.

I recall them saying early in the piece that the current level of football coverage (European) would remain about the same, so you;d still get Champions League on 'normal' SKY but you'd get more of it on beIN.
@nufcnz Hi, unfortunately the beIN channels will only be available from the 9th August, thanks ^Charlotte

No Championship this weekend. There is no god!!!!
As upsetting as this may seam, from the 9th onwards you will probably have more access to quality championship coverage in NZ than you have ever had before.

I'm not sure that is true...
All the deals they signed with BeIN last season, UCL, Europa League, Championship games etc were just ONE year deals, given that the new deal is BeIN taking all the money, I can't see it being on Sky anymore as why would they give that away when they get the money for you siging up?
Should I also assume Sky won't have the club channels anymore?
I have Sky basic already and have just joined up for the BeIn and Sky say it is working from 13 August $11.96 per month.

You were told wrong...
