Tough week. Those who picked Aubameyang hit the jackpot really. Bit of a "big 3" and the rest developing here... us bottom feeders need to close the gap!
Paulm I think I only got 2, not 9?
Hmmm what have I done there... something horribly wrong... hold on, I'll just re-calculate everyone to make sure there aren't other errors as well...
Ok worked it out... I actually calculated everyone's scores correctly but for some reason I put 9 in brackets against Brumbys even though he only got 2. His total score of 57 is still correct, so no idea where my brain was when I typed that 9!
Have now updated it.
So we have League Cup tomorrow but no picks for that, so looking ahead to the weekend, it's the Yellow Fever Derby! Obviously some special picks this week, I'll have a wee think about it and come back with some suggested picks for the big game!
Sorry lads bit late on this, hopefully everyone can get in and make their picks in time.
So how about:
Normal for Chelsea v Crystal Palace, just pick the result, 1 point.
For the YF derby:
Pick the result, and HT score in brackets. 5 points for correct HT score, otherwise normal points.
Pick 2 players from each team, normal points scoring rules apply, and the MOM points will be given for both teams.
Plus some bonus picks:
1: First team to score (2 points)
2: First player to score in the game (5 points)
3: And an interesting one, pick which team will have the most touches in the game (2 points) - will use whoscored.com as always
Here's my picks:
Chelsea: Win
Arsenal 3 (1) Liverpool 1 (1)
Auba, Ozil
Salah, Mane
Extras:
1. Liverpool
2. Mane
3. Arsenal
Also one minor thing I haven't covered... so for normal picks we award 1 point to pick an Arsenal win, 2 to pick a draw, and 3 to pick a loss.
When Arsenal/Liverpool/Chelsea play each other and we do special picks, this gets a bit squirly, since Arsenal aren't necessarily the "primary" team to govern which points we award, if that makes sense?
So what I will do is forget the 3 point loss, and only award a point for picking the win for either team, and 2 points for the draw.
Everyone cool?
Chelsea: Win
Arsenal 2 (0) Liverpool 2 (1)
Auba, Ozil
Salah, Firminio
Extras:
1. Liverpool
2. Firminio
3. Arsenal

Extras:

Picks came out so weird this week. Milner was actually the only Liverpool player who earned any points as he was the first scorer, only liverpool scorer, MOM, and no assist was credited for the goal. And then of course not one of us picked him ;)
Whereas Arsenal had a scorer, assister, and then a different player altogether was the Arsenal MOM.
AJC forgot and only made the correct Chelsea pick, to earn himself 1 point, which actually meant he beat Surge this week who made full picks, but had an absolute shocker! It was really hard to score highly this week but even harder to manage a 0 in all of that I reckon... so unlucky Surge, if there is a God then he royally f*cked you at every turn this week!
Let me know if any iffy maths in your scores guys, there was a lot to check as I went...
FYI, if anyone's wondering, here's the game page from Whoscored.com, showing all the stats that I'm reading from;

Very low-scoring week. Huge from Ronniemac to pick all 3 results correctly, takes him to the top of the table, helped by the fact that Downey forgot to pick this week!!!!
No one picked either of the points-scoring players.
The MOM on whoscored.com is driving me nuts at the moment. Leno was surely our best player this morning I would've thought, yet he scored only 7.0, same as Mustafi, while Mkhitaryan got 7.1 off the bench, thanks to the goal alone really.
Should we be awarding more points for correctly picking draws or losses for Chelsea & Liverpool? 1 pt each for win/draw/loss doesn't seem to reflect the fact that they're harder to come by. I realise I'm biased having correctly just called a Chelsea draw but to mitigate this we could do it for future weeks? :)
That's a good idea Brumbys. As they both win more often than not we should probably reward the tougher picks a bit more.
How would everyone feel if we changed it to the same system as the Arsenal games? 1 point for picking them to win, 2 for the draw, 3 for the loss?
Will review feedback and then confirm ;)
oh bugger thought i'd done my picks
Ok so we'll go with the new points system for picking Chelsea and Liverpool results.
Do people think I should go back and re-calculate previous rounds, or do we just leave it and move forward? I am happy to re-calculate, there aren't actually that many that would change, so let me know if you think we should and I will do that if we get enough requests.
So normal picks this weekend.
