Well done to Tasman for taking this on as well. A committee member said they did it because there was no live home game this year on SKY!
Tasman United
it was absolutely not a red cad. jorgensen dived im, but planted his foot and the result was just a trip, no studs showing, little contact and nothing dangerous or malicious
Sure looks like he got the player studs into the lower leg

looks like i'm off to spec savers tomorrow. just watched it again and boy was i wrong
just want to echo the live stream kudos. the coverage and production was great. i was able to enjoy 3 good games yesterday
Sounds like Joe Ellul was pretty hard done by for his 2nd red in 2 games for Tasman. Managed to get himself on the scoresheet first though!

ISPS Handa Premiership – Tasman vs. Canterbury match cancelled
New Zealand Football (NZF) has taken the decision to cancel the match between Tasman United and the Canterbury United Dragons in the ISPS Handa Premiership tomorrow following the act of terrorism which occurred on Friday afternoon in Christchurch.
Following extensive discussions with both teams today, it has been decided to not proceed with Match 89, which was scheduled to be played at Trafalgar Park with kick off at 2pm.
Daniel Farrow, the Competitions and Events Director of NZ Football, said it was a unanimous decision and it was the right move for the people of Christchurch.
“With the support of both teams and stakeholders in Nelson, NZF has made the decision to cancel the match as a mark of respect for the events that have occurred in Christchurch,” he said. “This will allow staff, players and fans to remain in their community and with their family and friends in Christchurch during this difficult time.”
The match shall be deemed a 0 - 0 draw with points shared in accordance with the ISPS Handa Premiership Regulations.
All of the other matches in the final Match Week of the ISPS Handa Premiership will proceed as scheduled with both teams observing a minutes’ silence before kick-off to honour the lives lost in the attack.
Tasman entire committee has resigned though it appears all for different reasons. Interesting to note they are currently also applying to NZ Football to be part of next seasons competition

all teams will be applying as last season was the end of the 2 year contracts. whats interesting is the article saying there are 14 teams applying for 10 spots. Napier will be one as has been reported, guessing Wests are another

Bit of clarity needed here – the 10 existing teams have all reapplied and have first refusal on their spots, subject to NZF's approval.
The other four have just shown interest in stepping up if NZF deems one of the exiting teams not fit to continue.
Believe Napier City Rovers, Three Kings United and Onehunga Sports are three of them.
Not sure who the fourth is.
Ah, that sounds more reasonable, thanks mate

Not sure who the fourth is, but understand it's not Western Suburbs.
Andy Hedge has left?
Does anyone know why?

Believe was told he was to go on the eve of their final game against Canterbury United which in the end was never played due to shootings in Christchurch with the points shared
Yeah wasn't wanted for a second season.
Whole new board, new coach, Nelson Suburbs players not wan ting to be involved... Will be interesting to see where Tasman United ends up.
Interesting, I heard from someone else it was budget related. He was great with the Phoenix and bought a lot of young players on, I wonder if he'll be in line for the TW job?

Port Nelson and Nelson Airport on board as sponsors. 2 big names in the region, very good sign.
Also, saw a couple of comments on facebook from someone that would know, saying Tasman United have no interest in Cam Gordon or Corey Wilson (can't re-find them, so maybe deleted). Surprising to me, given they want to focus on players from within the region and those two would be near the top of the list in pretty key positions.

They are probably hindered by their import status though, especially if the quota is dropping by one.

Tasman announce Matt Tod-Smith, top appearance maker for TU, as returning for this summer.
Also chat of an Aussie GK coming in.
A few more signings. Billy Scott, Max Winterton, Labu Pan and Rick Muir. Billy and Max are both ex-Nelson players who are based in Wellington and play Central League. Labu and Rick are two of Nelson's most promising young players, both have been captains of the Nelson College First XI in recent years.

Sign Corey Vickers from Canada. Anyone know anything? Sounds like a experienced CB to pair with Fox?

Played down in here in ChCh for Nomads in 2018 in the Mainland Premier League, also coached Halswell women's team in the Premier League, but his partner wanted to return to the UK so he headed back 'home' as well. Liked to get forward and would not call him a 'soft' player.
Canterbury United had him on their radar, will be interesting to see how he works out.

Aussie GK signed. Preferred to MPL GK of the year Corey Wilson (both are classed as imports).
Played with Fox Slotemaker at Cairns FC.
Facu joins the mix!
Squad as it stands:
GK: Nick Stanton, Pierce Clark (OS)
DEF: Fox Slotemaker (c), Hamish Cadigan, Billy Scott, Cory Vickers (OS), Cory Brown, PJ Stephens, Marco Lorenz
MID: Hashim Noorzai, Matt Tod-Smith, Rick Muir, Max Winterton, Labu Pan, Corey Larsen, Alexis Varela
FWD: Jama Boss, Jean-Phillipe Saiko (OS), Jesse Randall, Facunda Barbero (OS)
Coach: Jess Ibrom Assistant: Davor Tavich
Probably after a few more defenders to round out the squad. Positions taken from how they are listed on the TU website. Took a best guess and who is/isn't imported - happy for any correctiosn.
Larsen and Pan might end up RB and LB, which bolsters the defence somewhat.

Local lad Cory Brown is back from the states? Has this been announced anywhere?

He’s had as bit of a journey since leaving Nelson: Ole, Xavier University(?), Whitecaps 2, Fresno. Be interesting to hear what he’s up to if he’s back in Nelson for summer and what’s next.
I watched the Hawke's Bay Utd Versus Tasman Utd this afternoon on TV. Not a flash game, but HBU ran out winners. I thought Tasman started to get back into the game in the second half, but the damage was already done. No goals in three games would be a worry for the coach I would imagine.
Anybody at the game see what Josh Murphy was dismissed for at the end - the tackle looked pretty innocuous from TV coverage...
My knowledge of Tasman football is limited but had the pleasure of watching Nelson Suburbs in the the South Island . I thought they were quality all over the park and wasn't surprised to see them beat Cashmere Technical. They looked like a good national league side .Im interested to know why there a so few Suburbs players in the Tasman team?
