Football Ferns
"We've got the Football Ferns playing the Matildas [on Thursday] and I can confirm that will be on television. It's only the second time our senior female team has had a friendly game screened. Progress on that front is very important."

I just realised the game on Thursday, they were refferring to, is being played behind closed doors.
Trying to talk a few people into going up for this, got a few English friends who are more than happy to don an All White's strip & support us when Oz is involved.
Im disappointed about this -I'd have gone tonight -I cant make the Sunday game as Im coaching my ladies team..
We had some good spells but Aussie were the better team, theres not much doubt in that, said New Zealand coach John Herdman.
They are very good at showing you why they are Asian champions.
Hannah Wilkinson had a great chance to put New Zealand back on level terms 25 minutes into the match but put her shot over the bar on a day when the Matildas were more physical and showed more of a ruthless streak.
They were very clinical. They scored two goals we couldve dealt with better and one which was absolutely world class. Thats our challenge and we either the wrong decision or a lack of quality lets us down. Whats going to be key when we get into these games against the best sides we got into these games, score first and stay in the game.
We had a great spell in the second half and looked like we were going to get something but the opportunities went and when they did the Aussies punished us.
We had a very good chance to equalise early on and then a couple of half chances throughout the game but at times when got into some good positions we just took the wrong option. There are some things we can work on which will just make things tougher for Aussie on Sunday.
On the road to the World Cup well take some positives out of that and three or four key learnings into the next game.
New Zealand play Australia again on Sunday and their chances would be boosted by the return of WPS Rookie of the Year Ali Riley who is still in doubt after missing Thursdays match with a hamstring strain.
On a brighter note, there were personal milestones for Katie Bowen who made her senior debut and for captain Rebecca Smith who played her 50th A international.
Sundays match will be broadcast delayed on Sky Sport 3 from 8.30pm.

Keepers are like spin bowlers, they improve with age.
I suspect NZF paid for it to be one tv.
Watching the reply now. Poor keeping for the first goal. Got herself in a poor position which meant to wasn't able to dive as she would have gone straight into the post.
Commentator is f**king annoying.
We just scored our goal. Pretty well worked goal. Good cut back. Their keeper probably should have done better too.
If that was Peter Wilkins -hes the reason I watch the W-league games with the sound down
Totally agree:the standard wasn't what I thought it'd be from both teams.Despite all the statements from Herdman about playing a passing game,a heck of a lot of balls were lumped up the field,to little effect. The best NZ player was Riley, who looked to have the beating of the aussie fullback, yet ended up playing right back it seemed.Go figure...
