Went into Football Central to buy my kid's football gear for the upcoming uniform today and saw the new AWs uniforms. They're not as bad as they look in a photo, but they're still not that great tbh
Ok so I found this thread randomly while searching for AW gear on Google... I've just realised I've had the same AW shirt for almost 18 years and it's probably time to upgrade. Trouble is, I can't find a shirt anywhere. Football Central and Rebel Sport seem to be out of stock. Any other ideas where I could get one in time for the Aus game?
You will be completely out of luck, no where is selling them. I was looking earlier this year for one for my nephew in the States, and it appears NZ Football don't care to produce them at the moment.
That's shocking when you realise that the San Marino FA put more effort into producing a kit than NZF. Chances of a limited series coming out in a hurry if we quality for the WC??
International shirts are typically on a two year rotation, regardless how infrequently we play (because it’s a Nike thing). With this being a World Cup, it’s one of the rotation years, so I’d imagine a new kit will come out this year, whether we go to Qatar or not. For example, the current kits were released October 2020 (Covid delays a factor), previous were May 2018, August 2016 etc. Good chance we’ll have new ones by the Australian games. I suppose it’s a case of get in while you can, because NZ shirts probably don’t have much demand, so supply is limited compared to your bigger teams.
Just saw this thread then checked my emails... Shirts are back in stock, check out https://shop.nzfootball.co.nz/ The Soccer Shop in Hamilton used to stock NZF gear before they closed down last year
Footy Headlines is reporting that they have been leaked the new All Whites’ kits for the coming two seasons. They are generally fairly ahead of the game, at least for the big countries in terms of kit leaking, but NZ might be a bit less certain. They’ve reported that Nike are going to drop all their new national team kits on the 16th of September or so, so if accurate then could be what the Australia games are played in. Australia have also had their new kit leaked.
If true then these are pretty disappointing, but their bland simplicity of design compared to the previous two, especially in the black kit, is what makes me sceptical as to their validity.
Given they are basically stock Nike shirts we'd be better off just buying the fern and ironing it on (that's what most Iranians had to do with their Adidas WC shirts in 2018 as their were non available at the WC).
Anyway those shirts are so poor, I really can't see them selling out anytime soon, even in the small quantities made for NZ.
Looks like a tight kit, which raises my rating a fair bit. Originally I'd have given it a 3/10 - bargain bin from Kmart-type stuff. Now it's a decent 5.
Wish we could have continued incorporating Māori imagery; pretty shocking that this doesn't seem to. Don't feel comfortable having something that represents us on a national stage without it
totally agree with the low ratings of this "new" kit, feels like Nike have really not put any effort into it at all. "oh look NZ wear white/black - that's simply" As previous shirts have shown there is a way to make add something to a single coloured shirt - some kind of motif in silver or white on the black shirt would be great and the opposite on the white.
Bit gutted I rushed to buy what I thought was the new kit a couple of months ago when the Socceroos sales was announced. I went for the white shirt as I didn't like the zig zag lines in the away kit but now I wish I'd known more shirts were coming out as I probably would have bought something different
you'd have to find a match worn one. Replica shorts weren't really a thing in 1982 - definitely none on sale, despite them selling all sorts of other memorabilia to raise money to get to Spain. The other option is get some made yourself, Sitter \ Grant Stantiall did a set of 82 replica shirts for the 2003 Confeds Cup, he only did 22. I had #18 (Peter Simonseon) but no idea what happened to it
