I believe they are 2014/15. They generally get released every two years. Next one will probably be 2016/17, and then another for World Cup year
All Whites Shirts
New strip. Doesn't seem to be any formal announcement. presumably because we don't have a game in this window so the players aren't together to do the photoshoot. I like it. Better than the 'White tee' of last time.
Spark brilliance? Now that's optimism!
Its interesting. Its certainly not bad so we beat Aus there, but I hate buying all whites shirts because the moment I have a fritz they are f**ked
We need black shirts as home jerseys i dont care about trying to look different from other codes in NZ or about a stupid name. The black uniform is what New Zealand is known for across all representative sports including rugby.
Thought our best shirt was the Adidas one worn in Mexico 1999 for the Confeds Cup, and the black one used then was pretty good too.
Part of me liked that blue shirt we wore (against Aussie??? in the mid-2000s?) as it least it was something different.....but part of me thought it looked a bit shark too.

Fudge the All Blacks.
I've 'this'ed Patrick. What has my life become.
It looks better than the awful stuff Spain and England have to wear at the minute
[/quote] It's got nothing to do with trying to look different or to fit the name. Back in the day, you weren't allowed to wear black as that colour was reserved for the referees. Hence we wore white, and it's been tradition ever since.
Fudge the All Blacks.
The NZ national team originally wore black (with white shorts, from memory?), and did so for decades. I don't know when they changed, but I presume they changed because of the referee clash.....changed to white shirts/black shorts. The white shirt/short uniform and "All White" name didn't come around until some time during the 1981/82 WC campaign.
So, historically, no reason why we shouldn't wear black.....there's no clash with the ref's anymore.....and would align football with every single other code in NZ. It does seem a bit stubborn that we don't, and we football fans always want to play down the ABs without mentioning the Kiwis, the hockey players, the Olympians, the netballers, cricketers etc etc etc. Wearing black would also make us unique in the world, whereas quite a few countries wear white. (Well, England and Germany......and some others no doubt)
Actually we used to have black and white stripes with black shorts (kind of like Juventus) in our first World Cup game vs Israel in 1969...I remember seeing a photo of this...that would be a decent team kit I reckon
Black kits might not be the smartest idea when you're playing crucial qualifiers in the sun in PNG or the Solomons though...

Doesn't look to have stopped the Black Caps playing in Brisbane/Delhi/Dhaka/some hellhole

Even if black uniforms only very slightly disadvantage you, why give any advantage to the opposition if you don't have to? Sports games can be decided by the finest of margins. The half a yard of pace you lose from being too hot might be the difference between scoring or not.

/quote]Yeah, I think that's stupid too. Although cricketers get more chance to take breathers and rehydrate while playing than footballers do, and although cricket can be intense the periods of exertion generally don't last as long (Fast bowlers have 6 bursts then a few minutes off to recuperate. Batsmen might sprint for quick singles but rarely every ball).

Hopefully this doesn't come across as having a go/being a smart arse......but if black uniforms are a heat issue, does that mean we can wear them for the matches that are played in brass monkey conditions?
I don't think the colour of the fabric is an issue as long as the fabric is breathable.....I don't recall too many refs keeling over in the past?

As for breathability, I own both a home and an away AWs shirt and they are both made from the same breathable fabric but the black one is definitely hotter than the white one in direct sunlight. Black radiates heat even if it's breathable fabric. Apparently if it's loose fitting and there is a wind this will make you cooler as it draw heat away but tight black clothing will always make you hotter

Yeah refs don't keel over but that's an extreme response. A ref running a bit slower and tiring a bit quicker won't make a huge difference if he's still well-positioned. But a player slowing down or getting tired might not make a 50/50 ball or keep up with a player who isn't as hot. Like I said earlier, fine margins can make a big difference. Being hotter is a disadvantage. Black makes you hotter. Why disadvantage yourself?
Why disadvantage yourself?
Well, we have a long and illustrious history of that - see Christie, Jeremy......Scott, Brad......Killen, Chris (section 'defensive midfielder')......Dyer, Moses......Lines, Aaran......:)
Seriously harden up people. The black uniform clearly looks better and looks like a nz uniform. I say let's make it happen. The times I've watched them play it has been night time. The jersey change will create good publicity for the game that it needs and hopefully draw some sponsors and players may like it too.
yeah. Fudge history and tradition.

While we're at it, anyone interested in changing our flag?

Just a small point but its not a 'uniform' its a kit! Uniforms are what they wear at school..... and Rugby players wear 'jerseys'! Football players wear a 'shirt'

I thought it was a top.Or a tap if from north of the border.
yeah. Fudge history and tradition.
What history are we talking about here? We've historically played in black more then white and some of our best results in recent years were when the boys were in black, not white.
Also its been shown that at a psychological level, black is seen as quite intimidating (just ask any team playing the ABs), while white is the traditional colour of surrender.

To be honest it doesn't matter what colour you wear - Brazil/Yellow, Argentina/Light blue(and white), Germany/White, Italy/Dark Blue or New Zealand/White. We are just not good enough so the colour makes no difference at all !!!
The All Whites has a good ring to it and distinguishes them from that 'other' team that plays in black and only has half a dozen teams to play against !
Fudge them football shirts, The All whites only wear training Bibs

Alright smart ass, I guess the military doesn't wear a uniform do they? Uniform meaning everyone wearing something in uniformity.
But besides that my point still stands, white is trash black is better. Either way I'll still support the team.

The history in which the NZ national football team's identity's been carved out through the wearing of white kits during the most successful era for NZ football, which has now been embedded both within this country, and internationally (at least in football terms). And the kit has been around now for long enough to be considered traditional.
Interested to see the comment that some of our best results in recent years have been when the team was wearing black - we wore black only once during the 2010 World Cup. The undoubtedly best result the team has ever achieved, 1-1 draw with the then defending champions Italy in a World Cup game, was achieved playing in the All White kit.
As for the last comment - frankly, laughable. Real Madrid? Germany? Just two of the most successful football teams in the history of the game (you could even make the argument for the most successful). I'm sure they'd really be aghast to find out that they've won all the biggest trophies in the game wearing cowardly colours.

That black kit looks pretty cool
More pics here https://www.footyheadlines.com/2018/05/new-zealand-2018-home-away-kits.html
Includes a South Cross on the back of the neck
That away kit is so sexy and most likely the best kit for the All Whites I have seen. I wish the silver fern on the sleeve on the home kit were black, would look better and stand out more as silver on white is hardly noticeable. Good to see nike putting some effort into our kits as most of the kits they produce for us are plain and a lot of their kits they produce around the world are similar.
