Tried the Valentine...ok 6 pounder upgrade...but that was as dull as dishwater...not helped by munk wasting me at the Siegfried Line (noob team...though I should have realized there was trouble when three teammates got wasted for no apparent reason ahead...)...gone back to Mal, gets a 5 kill in her second outing...is their a tier V tank that plays like her?  Slow, with armour and a MG that pens...The Churchill?

Got the British Church...oh dear, tier VII slugouts...real dilemma, what to put into the garage next?  Maybe some kind of proper scout tank?  Dunno...what the best here in tier IV-V?

Interesting campaigning this weekend...thought I had the game mastered a few days ago, but this weekend, really up and down...Mal would put in an excellent shift...then blow up quickly the next...nooby at times...victory % and XP average has stalled...but until I find an adequate replacement, will keep running Mal...though I might give the pz. III a dash this week too....

Tier III scout I have a heavily worked BT-7 that I adore.  It does need paint jobs, might wait for the new colours in 8.6 though.

After that they get a bit keen.  Junior News is a big fan of his A20.  Check out Tazilon's stuff in his VK for a ringing endorsement of German Scouts.  I have no great urge to scout in a Tier 4.  Gets a bit willing when you can end up in tier VII.  If I want to be quick and useless that high I'd rather use my Hellcat.

Spent yesterday grinding the British lights as they were on special.  Good win rate in the Cruiser III (should have had a Top Gun in it, but just got derped by a T18 as I was lining up the 6th having crossed and climbed in Province), awful in the Cruiser IV, and somehow 73% in the Covenator despiteme getting smashed in pretty much every battle.  Had one where I ran two half court scouts.  Got to the cap on a run, killed arty.  Got 80% of the cap and got cocky.  Stopped being alert and a Lee appeared and got me.  Could have been epic if I had just stayed awake.  I thought I'd screwed my numbers but maintained the 60% (in fact just over) while closing the kill gap and upping average damage and experience.

Also had my first 8 kill battle.  Out platting with work mates and accidentally took the T40 out.  Got a tier 4 Encounter on Steppes and absolutely smashed it.  Impressed them (and myself) no end.  I don't normally run her without my bodyguards. Had good carries on Erlenberg and Fjords as well after Ed and Munk got toasted.

Hellcat we ran into a battle with 7 tier 8s a side.  With the 76 there isn't a lot you can do in that, but we still could have won if I didn't cock up in the cap.

With the speed of the Hellcat you can influence the outcome in a high tier match by racing to the cap late game -often it can turn round attackers so they head back to stop the cap -and in that game, if I had started to cap when you did, we would have won -so my bad not yours - but it is just fun racing all over that map with a 90mm gun

Some I should dig out:

- Need that video of me the other week failing to stop and killing myself on Mines in the T18.  I had one yesterday as well where I chased a 1c around Karelia and got him but then failed to stop and killed myself launching off a cliff face.

- Killing that Stuart underwater after he tried to drown himself on Seigfried line last night.

-The shooting gallery of lights down the far road on Siegfried line that day.

I came awfuly close to trying to DFA an AMX-40 last night in the hatchback (Su-85b) on Port as well.  Probably should have as he killed me when I went down the bridge to shoot him.

The horrible frustration of grinding the StuGIII I hate how XP works in WOT. Fine if you wanna buy gold and convert a horrible grind otherwise. Still just played and incredibly managed to kill 3 tanks with this TD.

Had a 'mare last night.  Repeatedly out of tier battles.  Turning up in Tier 5 in a Tier 3 or Tier 6 in Tier 4.  Do a bit of damage but getting squashed.  Even Munk gave up in frustration.

Yeah it's frustrating alright, being the only tier 3 SPG taking 6 shots to off a tank because it's much higher and half the tanks are heavies.

I did the unthinkable and took the T40 out on my own after Munk packed it in just to try and get some wins.

Managed to win three but got toasted in a couple of them.  One was stupid.  I was dominating at Westfield.  Smashing TDs left right and centre until I got cocky and broke cover to chase a T82 only to run into a Derpy Hetzer.  Took him down to about 2% before he smashed me.

Roll on the de-Derping of 105HE.

Yes, it is odd.  Played my Russian "premium" Churchill several times yesterday...had better XP scores on average than my Matilda - and I played somewhat nooby...am I wrong in thinking that the XP score system is based on what tier level you're playing at?  Also, I'm fairly sure that if you inflict damage on a higher tier AV you score more etc...

Also, "premium" tanks only ever play a tier above them, right?  i.e., my Russian tier V Churchill can only play versing tier VI guys (at the worst)...this makes it much more appealing than the British Churchill in many respects...boomathons versing VII+ munters holds no charm for me...

Don't think so.  My Pz Somua only ever sees Tier V in my experience and rapidly gets smashed.

I've had 1 win in 7 in it.

You are right about the CHurchill though:

Top right says what tiers it can end up in.

yup-some premiums have better tier restrictions - unless you platoon with a higher tier tank. Also you are correct, doing damage to a higher tier tank results in more XP earned.

Tempted to put a shell in him to turn him around.

I need to send you the video of me getting snotted by own team Stuart after he ran through my firing line.  Fired the Pom pom and he copped the second shot in his arse.  Threw a tanty.

Warning shots for behaviour is a favourite of mine. Whenever I'm in a spot, and someone rams and blocks me off, I send a shot ridiculously close to them and it usually causes them to move to a better spot.

I did it to a T18 once after he just rammed into me and pushed me across the map.  He threatened to come back and derp me (I was in the Renault).  He must have felt the next one go across the corner of his tank it was so close. I loaded gold next round in case he tried it and know exactly where to hit a T18.

Had a KV the other night that actually pushed me out of a firing slot.  He shouldn't have been hunkered down on the Redshire ridgeline anyway, he should have been out heavying.

Git.

As a cross-section of the server population and ignoring the Tier 1 and 2 noobs.  There are far more shit KV pilots than any other tank in the game on the SEA server.

Agree strongly (sorry Stevo) -case in point -2 hours ago, Karelia -top 3 tanks -  a KV1 platoon, enemy team - 4 arties -do they head to cover on the left and push the protected flank? Do they bollocks.. they amble forward up the middle and proceed to sit there, shooting a total of 2 light tanks and are nuked by arty...game over

Trust me, Mal has knocked out some ten KV-1s, so that tells a lot...but it's in the garage because "it's there"...very rarely used...but that 85mm gun can be relied upon in a tier V struggle....

Heavy tankers do face the most pressure in the game though...so much rests on their shoulders...burden...it's a tank that makes "choking" very easy when the heat is on...

KV pilots might not be the sharpest knives in the kitchen...but I think there are even thicker heavies - "the B1 guy"...awful tankers...

PS: Finally created "carnage" at Westfield...a TG soon followed (just quietly)...
