I'm certainly not gloom & doom, I call it as i see it. People like you can't see the wood for the trees and think that any criticism is poor form. Can't see the point of blowing smoke up peoples arse to be PC
Yep, even if there is nothing for us to play for I'd be a bit wary about us fielding a weak team. It was 6-0 last time and knowing our hot/cold form could easily blow out to the same again.
And no matter how much the coach and players say that a dead game doesn't matter big losses do have a knock on effect into your next game, which in this case happens to be our most important of the season.
Ball won't play, possibly not Sandoval either but I would hope Uffie gets as strong a lineup on the park as possible and try to put in a creditable, confidence building effort ahead of the playoff.
Disagree about putting as strong aside as possible on the park. If anyone has a niggle they should be rested up for the finals. Would much rather they go in fresh than have guys hobbling would also hope anyone 1 card away from suspension is rested. Think the guys have well and truly shown that a big loss dosnt really have an affect on them and think the coach and players are more than capable of refocusing for a finals game should that sadly happen. What they have achieved this season is outstanding and think people are under under estimating the groups ability to focus on a finals campaign.

We do not appear to have heard from "Mr Doom & Gloom" Leggy.
OK then, go ahead and congratulate The Nix. They played the same way as they did at Eden Park and won again something you doubted that they could do.
After the Eden Park game most comments including mine were we were awful. I said if we played like that again we would not win our remaining 3 games. We lost against MV and did play OK against WU-- but it was still not wonderful. So as of today I have got one right and one wrong. With MC looming and looking at the squads we are miles away from them. All the congratulations have been given by many supporters and outside of the kindergarten ones I doubt they will miss mine. I have also been a supporter a lot longer than you and have spent tens of thousands of dollars watching them. Perhaps I have higher standards than you.

It's good that you have been a supporter a lot longer than me as you must have visualised The Nix well in advance. I am a foundation member and know about going to hell and back and enjoying the ride.

Criticising without proper context is pointless.
We *are* miles away, which is why scraping into the position we are in is a massive achievement. No other team has dealt with what we've dealt with over the last 2 years - it's something which has impacted all facets: squad building, game day prep, individual players etc. Not to mention the financial and logistical nightmare the club itself has been put in.
Comparing us to City without this context, who are backed by one of the richest organisations on the planet and have had comparatively perfect prep for each and every game is just classic Leggy.
It's not about being 'PC' or having 'higher standards'.
I don’t know if you guys remember but the first ever Phoenix game actually had an attendance of 1, not 14,421. Leggy was the only fan in the stands and therefore has every right to point out that he’s been a fan for longer than the rest of us. Surprised more so called “supporters” don’t remember this actually, it’s a foundational part of our history.

I seem to remember my wife & son there. so would have been the three of us.
