Right need the win tonight to hopefully get a gap before my bye next week.
Yellow Fever League - Bertos Edition
gonna be hard to beat the trains tonight, fingers crossed.
This will be the 10th game played between the Whips and Fafe, with AD Fafe currently holding the advantage with 4 wins to 3, and two draws. In the Fever League, there has been two 1-1 draws and each team has nabbed a 1-0 win.
However, the signing of Mei Leilei has recently tipped the scales in AD Fafe's favour, with the talented striker scoring six goals in his six fixtures between the two clubs.
Here are a list of the highest goal-scorers in the games between the two sides:
Mei Leilei (AD Fafe) - 6 goals
Tim Pink (AD Fafe) - 2 goals
Bruce Wilson (AD Fafe) - 2 goals
Sergio Martinez (Waikato Whippingboys) - 2 goals
Lukas Muir (Waikato Whippingboys) - 2 goals
Nicolas Van Reet (Waikato Whippingboys) - 2 goals
AD Fafe have earned favouritism, but hopefully some of the league expert Whip strikers can step up finally in the Fever League
I didn't realise he was that good in games between us as well. Has a pretty good goalscoring rate going in the league as well.
Some really nice stats there, hopefully I can use the advantage tonight to give myself a nice lead in the YF Div 4 before my bye next week.
Madness early on against The Nix...
O. Straka darts into the box
S. Kofoed tries to keep pace
Oh, bad tackle in the box by S. Kofoed
The ref points at the spot! Penalty!
O. Straka with a chance from the spot
F. Egas Moniz poised in goal...and here it is
He hits it wide!
Yellow Fever clearly disappointed!
And his first attempt hits the post...nice cross from Pink to Leilei...
Wow early penalty missed!
Bugger. Nix 1, Trains 0 after 18 mins
I'm surprised Straka missed that peno, he's normally quite composed - although 12 for set pieces is hardly stunning. I'm happy to see carey scoring though, he works hard a gets some ok results but probably should convert more.
1 - 1 Soren Kofoed levels it up for The Trains
Grrr. 2 - 1 Nix.
perhaps it's time to reverse the form guide, previous two meetings have gone the trains way, 3-0 and 2-1
Grrr. 2 - 1 Nix.
wynen finally steps up at set piece time,
capes is having a blinder in goal!
That ends yet another close half, 0-0, 5/4/3 to 4/3/1
Both matches in Div 4 make it to Halftime without a goal being scored.
2-1 half time, nix over trains!
0-0 in the other game, naenae vs north shore
capes is having a blinder in goal!
Indeed. 10 shots to 5 in favour of The Trains.

odd really, given I'm playing attacking at home and you are only on slightly attacking.
Hatrick for Soren! Trains up 2 - 3!!!
2 - 4! Tim Hickey is in!
The Trains on the rampage!
75 mins and it is sub bench time as 4 changes are made in the game still tied at 0-0
2 - 5, Soren gets his FOURTH!!!
And it stays 0-0 as Fafe & the Whipping Boys get a tie to keep their YFTM record as a tie 1-3-1
2 - 5, Soren gets his FOURTH!!!
wow that is quite a finish!
Both matches in Div 4 make it to Halftime without a goal being scored.
That's 10 goals in 3 games for Soren...
Both matches in Div 4 make it to Halftime without a goal being scored.
Makes it easy for me if it stays that way
Premiership
Division 2
Division 3
Tawa FC 3 - 1 Surge Thunder FC
Peow FC 2 - 0 Battle Hill F.C
Division 4Elite F.C. 1 - 1 Highlands FC
Waikato Whippingboys 0 - 0 AD Fafe
Defence! Defence! Defence! Haha 3 games only a total of 3 goals lol.
Looking at another tough "season" in Div 2. Last few seasons Div 3 has proved too easy, yet Div 2 has proven too hard. Could this be addressed in terms of Division numbers perhaps?

agreed, div 2 is really tough, perhaps we could run a larger premiership and have two smaller leagues that play more games???
Could look into that. 1 10 team league playing each other once. Then 2 5 team leagues playing each other twice.
Unsure how interesting that'd make premier league though.
Also unsure if a 10 team league is possible - maximum may be 8.
8 team Premiership and two 6 team divisions below it could work. Just not all divisions would play the same amount of matches.
That's not ideal though. Need to have the same amount of rounds.
Was thinking a 10 team 2nd division, with a 5 team premiership and 5 team 3rd div around it. That way there are still 2 promotion and 2 relegation spots to play for/avoid in the 10 team division.
If we get 1 more team we could also do 3 divisions of 7. Will see how many sign up next time round and go from there I guess.
7 7 6 would work close to near enough if you ask me (if we don't get another team...)
or 6 7 7 - either or.
It would have to be 7 7 7.
Combinations that have the same rounds are: 5/6 teams, 7/8 teams etc. you need the same number of rounds as it stops teams having to wait 2-4 weeks between seasons.
That's why I have it as 4 divisions of 5. As it leaves some room for 4 more teams to enter. I would prefer divisions of 7 though, but we just need that extra team :p
