Victory for me keeps me within reach of promotion. 3 points behind so I need the teams ahead of me to screw up in the last few games.
League Banter - The Matchday thread
Trying to watch my game at Seddon Park using the wifi, losing to a relegation bot....
Maybe it's a sign to stick to the cricket.
A 2-0 victory for me puts me within 1 point of 3rd and 3 points of promotion. I am at home against Disjointed next, which means that Disjointed control where I finish in both the Fever League and the Kiwi League.
I keep getting players sent off, tough to win with 10 men! I'm on a great run of beating the pro teams but losing to the bots, might help me in the Fever league at least...
There's a few Yellow Fever teams in tight contests with 2 matches to go:
Aoteoroha Championship Group 2 - Thunderthighs United - Ramtallica
In 1st place. 3 points ahead of 2nd & 3rd. Should win last two matches to move into the top division again...
Aoteoroha Championship Group 3 - Tegal - Tegal
In 2nd place. Favourite to win last two matches. 4 points behind top place, who have a midtable match, then playing 3rd place. I think 2nd place gives Tegal a playoff match for promotion..
Kiwi League 1 Group 1 - Khandallah Lokomotiv - bwtcf
4th place - only 3 points behind 2nd place, but hard to see the other two teams both dropping points...
Kiwi League 1 Group 2 - Racing Fat Cockneys - Azevo
1 point ahead of relegation zone. A win this round should make him safe though.
- Peow is also close - a shame for him he has me next match though! :)
Is 2nd place in league 1 instant promotion or is it a playoff? I can't finish any higher or lower now
Yea, 2nd place goes up. A big up in quality from Div 1 to Aotearoa Championship. I've won my League 1 group easy, but still gonna be tough for me to compete well next season. Might see you up there!
yeah I just looked at one of the championship groups and the team that's dead last are substantially better than my lads. Plus I've only got 17m in the bank so I won't be improving my squad much in the off season. Oh well, I should be stronger when I drop back down!
Yea, first time I went up I knew I was coming straight back down... so mainly concentrated on ensuring I'd have a good team to bounce back up and do better next time.
Yeah thats the plan. Hopefully I get lucky and finally get some decent youngsters out of my academy to help me out with that
I picked up 3 points tonight and first place lost to that 6th place team. So now 1 point behind 1st and automatic promotion with 1 game to play! Also 2 points ahead of 3rd place. So anything can happen in the final game on Wednesday.
I somehow lost despite dominating and can actually still finish third - but I'll get promoted regardless because the only team which can catch me is banned
Lost last weeks game against Kaikoura FF 3-1 but came back yesterday with a 9-0 win over B AC Oliver.
Another sold out stadium, I wish I had added a lot more seats as this was the last home game of the season, could've used the extra bums on seats and wallets to empty!
Currently sitting at the top with a 3 point lead, but picked up two injuries and a yellow card last game so will have to shuffle the squad around a bit for Wednesday's away game at Dynamo Whangamata.
smashed a'B' team 8 nil last night, hat trick for one striker and 5 for the other! still only sitting mid table in the lowest league of NZ, but I think next season I'll push to jump up, just need a really good keeper and to strengthen my defence.
1-0 loss to Disjointed means promotion is no longer within reach. Best I can finish is 3rd and worst I can finish is 5th.
Would've been sort of pleased if you'd beaten me in that one Peow, given I didn't need it, but wasn't gonna throw the match / put out a dud team because of my stupid sense of fairness!
In my final game tomorrow, 1st place are playing 3rd. So I have a good chance at taking 1st place if I win.
Didn't even know it was the last game of the season... think I'm going to go all-out attacking, might end up 6-5 or something. Unsure if I can relegated, can anyone tell me how relegation/promotion works?
1st v 6th in the Kiwi League 2 Group 1 tonight, and the match has a small star next to it to add a bit of extra dosh.
Los Halcones Locos FC and Metallurg Okato are going up :)
Should have aimed higher with the sponsorship. Is there prize money for promotion on top of sponsorship goals?

Nah, you are in the lowest division so you can only go up. Top two get promoted and then depending on how many inactive accounts are in the divisions above you, more teams may go up.
Right, I was wondering if you go up from league 2 div 7 to league 2 div 6, but it seems you go up to league 1. Big step up!
I managed to lose to the team in the relegation zone. This cost me 2nd place and I finished the season 4th. Well gutted. Lost 2-1.
That's football.
I kept the same attacking formation I used against Disjointed in the friendly league when I faced the bottom of the table team and managed to smash them 7-0.
Finished 4th this season pretty happy for that. Hopefully I'll be a real contender for promotion next season.
I had my first game in the newbie league, won 4-0 :)
Championship group 1 with Peow and Tegal this season. RRRRRivals!
Looks like League 2 has disappeared completely, my new team has been put in League 1 Group 1, and there are now League 1's right through to Group 16.
I am stoked...Didn't think I would get promoted.
Yeah they have a new league structure this season (more groups I think) so heaps of people got promoted. Stoked to have you two in my group !
Good lord I am going to get absolutely killed. Way out of my depth here, survival will be the goal!
At last you have a previous season, this is my first, and looking at the table there are 6 relegation spots lol...(Though no league below this level :P)

Yeah that does kind of suck. Least you got your little runners up trophy!
Won my first game of the season 2-1...Was losing 1-0 but then I had a player sent off. I then scored 2 goals with 10 men. Is there a way to start with 10 men?
I was quite happy with a 1-1 draw, lost one of my central defenders after 26 minutes, then went down 1-0 before halftime, in the second half actually fought back and scored late to tie the game. Happy with a draw after a terrible red card, my question is more how do I set my tactic so if a central defender is sent off that one of my central midfielders is swapped into defense? Or is this not possible?
You can do it under conditional orders. If say if player x gets a red card, player y gets subbed off for player z who goes to DC. Then just set that for both central defenders.
If that's confusing I can try a screenshot of what it looks like at the end later tonight if you want.
Ok right so I have to do it for each player on the pitch, that's fine, will just take a bit of time to make sure all possible solutions are there :)
It's a bit of a pain the conditional orders are limited to 5, because it doesn't allow many options to change tactics, cover key injuries, or cover red cards :\
I put in option for having a red card to change formation, but not to swap a particular player, based on the limited number of choices available
Haha I thought this for ages too, but you can actually scroll down and there are more slots to fill :)
Thought I'd see how the Fever team did in the first gameweek:
Thunderthighs United - 2-0 loss in Premier League (no shame at all in that!)
Tegal - 2-0 win
Wellington United - 6-0 win!
Khandallah Lokomotiv - 1-0 loss
Racing Fat Cockneys - 4-1 win
Tawa AFC - 1-0 loss
Peow FC - 2-1 win
Paraparaumu Disjointed - 2-1 loss
Sky Valley - 2-0 win
Sanchez AFC - 1-0 win
Los Halcones Locos FC - 1-0 win
Wellington Phoenix FC - 4-1 win
Earthquake City - 4-1 win
Tawa AFC - 1-0 loss
Racing Club North Shore - 3-1 loss
Waikato Whippingboys - 1-0 win
Highlands FC - 2-1 win
Elite FC - 0-0
Surge Thunder FC - 3-0 loss
AD Fafe - 1-1 draw
So overall, our record was 11-7-2 I believe, not bad at all
Use the arrows in the red box highlighted in the screenshot below to move from the first 5 advanced tactics to the subsequent sets. You are however limited to 20...
