Sporting Melbourne FC for me, reflects one of the true culture of the City. Melburians is OK but reminds me of Hibernians in Scotland.

The Melbourne Heart syndicate announced today it had signed Denmark-born Olsen and former Socceroo Ante Milicic to be inaugural assistants to John van 't Schip to set the foundation of a strong future.

Milicic, who returned recently from Egypt following a stint as assistant to Young Socceroos boss Jan Versleijen at the under-20 World Cup, is one of the exciting coaching prospects in Australia, claiming the 2009 NSW Premier League Coach of the Year award after guiding Sydney United to the minor premiership.

I guess sporting melbourne but it still dont sit easy
And heart - just reminds me of the crap guy from captain planet
Melbourne Wombats anyone?
Melbourne Heart FC
"With the grassroots football community at its heart, Melbourne's new A-League team aims to become the people's club."
The intentions are nice.
Too bad they have outed that they are looking for a mix imports of different cultures and ethnicities.
f**k Melbourne Victory FC?
What about a name for the stadium?
The best I can come up with is (Other than the Bubble Dome)
Spectacle Football Stadium.
Just to confuse people when they say SFS.
Almost as confusing as why they would build a stadium a short walk from Etihad and Olympic park..Stefan2009-11-19 21:44:33

Swan St Stadium...easy.
And because Etihad is an AFL stadium that is too big and souless for football and the Victory outgrew Olympic Park early on.
Can't wait. It's about 10-15 mins from my Dad's house and with Heart coming in it means I get to see a couple more Nix games a year!

Apart from it being a sh*t stadium, The atmosphere was pretty cool.
Plus they could do the, North end, south end, east end, west end chant
They did the North/South/East/West chant that day. Everyone joined in - was pretty great.
I preferred Olympic Park to the Telstra Dome but Swan St is going to be f**king amazing. I've never experienced a high-capacity, full, rectangular football stadium before.

So I'll laugh at Heffernan. Ha !
Heart looks like they will have a strong defence. Colosimo, Boogard and Heffernan are solid defenders. Frustrating for CCM as they finally get a good side together built on defence, then they get their defenders signed up by other clubs.

but saying that red and white horizontal hoops would be boss
The jets have an inability to keep hold of their players. Its like a revolving door. Is there something that the players dont like (con?) or do they just get better offers? I can think of Durante and Thompson leaving for better offers but could there be another reason?
