Good footballer and did well in the league. Got the feeling he would have given more if health/injuries allowed.
General A-League discussion
Reports that the Victory have accepted an offer for Nichols and he is off to Japan this weekend for a medical. They are looking at an unnamed Japanese play maker as a replacement.
Nichols did not look happy there.
Do they have an import slot free?

Darvydas Šernas's club has announced he is going on loan to the Glory, not confirmed by the Glory yet.
Victory fans rather confident tonight they have Rogic on loan.
Roar is wanting the FFA to give them a cap exemption, so they can re-sign Berisha. They are also looking at having one of their owners clubs (Inter Milan) sign him and loan him to the Roar, so they can pay him more outside the cap. Roar's cap would only be credited with the amount they pay Inter for his loan.

Ha yeh. I'm sure the other cubs will be happy if Roar can have more money than anyone else. Then the WSW could have offered Ono more as well.

Now that's a sneaky move - potentially this could work for them if Inter Milan pay him a decent wedge and Roar loan him back within the cap. Interesting precedent if they do that. As I understand it though Inter Milan and Roar are not owned by the same person. Roar are owned by Bakrie Group and they have close ties to Erick Thohir who owns Inter.
Extending the cap for them would just be plain unfair though. I can't see any reason why FFA would do that, especially since there's reportedly offers for him from other A-League clubs so it's not like the league would be losing him.
Also there's rumors that Berisha wants to go back to Europe to be closer to his family...
If the FFA do this (and there is precedent that they don't follow there rules) it just makes the cap even more farcical.
how long before the FFA confirm they've extended Roars salary cap to keep Berisha?
This guy is apparently going to sign for Sydney. Mates with Petkovic.

Guessing they will cancel Yau's loan.

And Heart have released D-Mac, so he can explore options in Asia.

The request sounds completely ridiculous, but then you think about the FFA paying promotion fees to Aussies like Kewell etc to bring them to the league and you have to ask who is the bigger drawcard? Still I don't have a lot of sympathy considering how many loopholes there are already in the salary cap
Rogic has signed for MV. Nichols has signed for some j-league team. Glad togic wont be lining up against us.
Really? Big call that.

WSW may be in trouble here, could be docked 3 points http://www.theage.com.au/sport/soccer/sydney-fc-soccer-fans-ambushed-bashed-in-park-20140119-31340.html
I hope if found to be WSW fans that the FFA does what it said it'll do and dock the points.
No place in supporting your team for that type of behaviour.

I agree it's going to be hard to identify. But yes if people are caught then surely they be able to identify them as members of this supports group if they are members
I bet their forums are going off right now. Might pop in and lob a grenade...
Marinkovic, 27, will have a medical assessment today and is expected to sign a deal tying him to Glory until the end of next season.
The move comes as club officials look to put the finishing touches on a loan deal with Lithuanian forward Darvydas Sernas.
Glory will also step up negotiations with Adrian Madaschi and Rostyn Griffiths this week.
Solorzano sighted at the Roar's training today. If he is over the osteo pubis that could be a pretty decent pick up.
The Japanese attacking midfielder is without a team and is seeking a contract with the Mariners until the end of the A-League season.
He is now on trial with the Mariners, having paid his way to come from Japan specifically to earn a contract with the Gosford-based club. He has been with them for several sessions and the Mariners are expected to make a decision on a deal before the end of the week.
Berisha pre-signed with victory

Melbourne Victory Football Club is delighted to announce that one of the Hyundai A-League’s most prolific strikers, Besart Berisha, will be joining the club at the start of next season in a massive recruiting coup for Coach Kevin Muscat.
Berisha, who has scored a remarkable 41 goals in his 65 appearances for Brisbane Roar, will head to AAMI Park once his current contract with the league-leaders expires.
The Albanian joined Brisbane ahead of its 2011/12 Hyundai A-League campaign, scoring 21 goals in his debut season and playing a pivotal role in Brisbane’s Championship winning season.
The 28-year-old will fill the Club’s International Marquee spot for the next two seasons.
Melbourne Victory Coach Kevin Muscat said having a striker of Berisha’s quality join the club was an exciting prospect for members, players and the coaching staff alike.
“Besart has been performing at the highest level week-in, week-out for Brisbane and has caused plenty of headaches for opposition defenders and coaches, including myself,” Muscat said.
“He’s a proven goal-scorer and a player that we can’t wait to welcome to Melbourne Victory.
“It’s certainly well documented how competitive Besart is, and that is something every A-League fan surely admires about him.”
Berisha will complete the current season with Brisbane Roar before beginning pre-season training with his new Victory teammates in July.

A couple of their youngsters that were away with the u22 are ok and will add to their defence. Will need a better CD. Milligan is important for their midfield. Plus still need a better coach.
Doesn't Muscat have a three year contract?
Eddy Bosnar on trial with Sydney.
Great player in his heyday, but isn't he a bit over the hill?
Often called "The best Oz player never to have been called up for the Socceroos" although I personally think that title belongs to Craig Johnston, he of Liverpool fame in the eighties (and the FA Cup final when he scored and Ian Rush got two). Ah, memories of the youth.
Mooy to Heart next season?
