Put up that old Trans Tasman trophy they just found.
Anyway CCM making the final gives a smaller club like the Nix some hope. Montgomery has done a great job. Fingers crossed they win next weekend and their fans pack out Parramatta.
Which is also what happened with Krishna and us, Ifill got injured so we used his slot on Krishna. If things were a little different Krishna would never have gotten his shot.
Although I think if we ever have a spare foreign slot, like we did a couple of seasons ago, we should use it on giving the best Oceania player in NZ a shot, which would have been Kaitak.
So happy for the Coasties, after so many painful seasons they deserve this.
Fantastic team! And a cautionary note for the Phoenix given how many of us would have wanted Roux, McGarry and Kaltak starting for us…though we did a similar thing for Sotirio I guess.
Probably we refused Kaltak because the memory of Benji Totori lingers on
Benjamin Totori was a brilliant player. Easily A-League quality, but was mis used as a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2, in a scrappy team, that had little attacking cohesion. Not every player works out at every club every time.

Was he really brilliant? my memory of him was that he was ok, but very inconsistent with pretty average ball control. May have been good enough in a better team but certainly wouldnt make the current Nix squad.
Two week gap till the final. What are they thinking. Talk about take all the sting out of it. Will anyone still be interested or even care in another week.

maybe also to give fans time to arrange travel. after all, the whole purpose is to bring the event, and all of the people who are attracted to it, to sydney
from what i've seen, this really isn't much of a 'week long festival'. the events could probably have taken place on the day of the final.
the NSW government may feel a little short changed by the APL
Excitement is in the air as fans in #Vanuatu gear up to watch their very own Brian Kaltak in the highly anticipated match between the Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne City tonight. #ALeague
Why the fudge is there not more noise about how many fans are here, particularly the CCM fans. They're going to win, I still want them to win, and who's to say what I would do if I were in their position and the nix were in a GF... But it feels shark
So happy for all the Coasties that stuck with their team through all those terrible seasons. Not playing this in Melbourne does take some shine off the result but they were utterly emphatic tonight & deserve the win.
I'm stoked for McGarry and Roux, not just for being in a GF winning team but because they've both played a significant part in CCM's dominance this season.

I mean the City Football group have a bit of weight on the scales and they gave a whole bunch of it back by having the Sydney GF. All it means is more of their fans can say I was there for mine!
Rado has to be pissed though. Studies from closed grounds show that home advantage is basically the crowd.
