A-League All Stars: Part Deux
RVP is a bit of a hottie.
Which bit were you thinking? I think he's the annoying and extremely useless little hole at top on the flappy bit!
He's the bit then you forget about him and wake up to realise he's burnt you
RVP is a bit of a twat.
What surprised me was how lose the MU defense was. A team of A-league ringins got at least 4 clean shots on goal. Berisha had heaps of time to turn for his goal and he should have done better for his other shot. Broisch was unmarked when he blasted over the bar and it was a brilliant save that kept out Boij???? Really surprised that a top EPL team could be so disorganised at the back...even though its not their first 11 CB's these guys wear the MU shirt.

United fielded Evra, Ferdinand, Jones, Raphael at the back - not second-stringers and could easily start for them in the EPL.
A-League team what I expected from a scratch team v an established club team who happen to be the champions of one of the best leagues in the world.
I've seen FIFA All Star sides play established club sides and the club sides always run rings around an "All-Stars" team.
Thought McGlinchey did alright in his 45 mins (way better than Miller)...Broich looked unfit...
Perhaps Broich 'thinks' it is still the off season.
Just had a peek on the Sommet Sports facebook page and saw this:
Good to see them owning up for mistakes and offering a fix

I thought Broich was actually one of the best on the park. Looked sharp and far better than little Mac who had a few stray passes.

not sure how miller managaed to stay on for as long as he did - he was woeful, celeski looked a lot sharper and Emmerton looked well passed it

Hopefully The A-League All Stars win the replay!
Just an hour before kick-off, the game was in danger of being abandoned over a sponsorship row involving soft drink giants Pepsi and Coca-Cola.
ANZ Stadium officials have confirmed Manchester United refused to take the field until Coke signs were removed from the giant screens.
Not an easy task considering Coke is one of the stadium's major backers and have poured in millions of dollars in recent years. Arch-rivals Pepsi recently signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Red Devils which created the problem.
The issue wasn't solved until 7.40pm - just 20 minutes before kick-off when Manchester United agreed to accept Mount Franklin water, another Coca-Cola Amatil product, on the big screens.
Corporate capitalism at its finest!

Oh that's ridiculous.
Hardly, when they are sponsored by Pepsi.

Yeah I have to agree that it's stupid. If Man U are that bent about it, they should put this kind of thing in the contract as a condition so it was resolved way beforehand.
You don't go into someone else's house and tell them to toss out the Panasonic TV cause you work for Sony...
I doubt they would of cancelled the game. In reality it was a bluff-- and it worked.
In which case it was a ridiculous bluff. Bully tactics. That actually makes it worse, not better.
Also, the United officials would have seen it when they inspected the stadium when they arrived in Australia. The fact that they only mentioned it 20 minutes before kickoff is disgraceful.
Do you know how much money Pepsi is sponsoring ? It's got to be 10s of millions on pounds.
When Ronaldinho got sacked from Coca Cola for sipping Pepsi do you think that is "ridiculous" ? http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/ronaldinho-500-000-cola-121115487.html
Man Utd signed a contract with Pepsi. And I would put my balls on there being a clause saying they can't have anything to do with rival companies.

I can understand Man Utd trying to protect their sponsors, the FFA do it all the time. Would have been a fiasco if they didn't play, neither parties would have come out looking good.

Thanks for the that info RR.
What's Brockie doing in that shirt?!
Officially confirmed now.
Yawn. Another parade of has-beens like Kewell and Emerton and, if we're lucky, a token Phoenix presence on the bench. Snorefest
won't be a nix player anywhere near the all stars game now - ifill out for the season.
Who cares. All stars is a pants idea. Rather they played club sides

I think you will find the idea is to get big clubs to Australia to help the football profile, rather than who they play.
If it is a pants idea, how come they fill the MCG?
I said all stars is a pants idea. Liverpool played Melb at MCG - that was cool
Man Utd v All Stars was not. Half arsed so called all stars like emerton

Vote Kenny Lowe for the All Stars coach!!
http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/aleagueallstars/coachvote
I've been touting the #KennyLoweforAllSt hashtag (started by Patrick478, I believe) on Twitter, with the slogan "Give the 'All Stars' the coach they deserve". Can't fail.
So are we calling Kenny Lowe a cunt in a back handed manner? I mean, after all, you know Kewell will be playing.....
Who got the email to vote for All Stars coach, and who are you voting for?
I want to pick Kevin Muscat for the lols

Start as you like to carry on as they say. As a Leeds fan I've enjoyed seeing MU playing crap this season.
