Looks like a newly promoted Central League team will join Stop Out
Napier U19 Tournament
Has the final been played yet? I heard Olympic made it?
Stand down. Ellerslie 3 - Olympic 2 Final
Nice to see Ellerslie win the comp.
Congrats Tim.
thanks mate - it's all a bit surreal at the moment. I have always considered us to be decent but to win is something I don't think I had truly considered.
I must say it was amazing the amount of support we got from neutrals and other teams throughout the tournament - everyone treated us very nicely - was a great weekend.
Congrats to Wellington Olympic who were awesome in the final and should hold their heads high, as should all the teams who came and played in what is a gruelling tournament.
Finally for us it's awesome to win it and particularly since we will be losing about 10 of these lads for next year so I'm so stoked for them!
Yes congratulations to Ellerslie..Wonderful achievement.
I have seen many finals at Napier and that rates as one of the better ones. Wellington Olympic played some fantastic football to go 2 nil up at Half time and then seemed to really hit a wall after conceeding the penalty.
They also looked very young. Someone from the supporting group said they had 9 players U17 on the field for the final.
Have Olympic blamed the ref's yet?
Olympic were awesome in the first half - the penalty changed the game probably but post game Stu and the other coaches were very good and their didn't seem to be any issues in that regard.
They also had a young team so one to watch out for next year!

"sigh"...swallowed another bitter pill have we
Congrats to Ellerslie..
Heard a LH player got a broken leg after a two-footed tackle (straight red) from the Onehunga Captain ?...If so, hope he makes a quick recovery

we heard it was a double break (we saw the tackle - wasn't good) but we heard afterwards from a mate who supports Lower Hutt that it was ligements, which might be worse. either way the kid (Ryan) was very good and i hope he bounces back strong.
Nice one Dale, you a bit bored are you?
Ellerslie were good or their win for sure, especially to come back in the second half the way they did and they showed some great physicality and experience. A big congratulations to them.
It was great for us as supporters to go up and see the boys fulfil some of their potential and show the brand of football we like to see at this club, it was our first final since winning it in 1994. We were all disappointed with the result in the final especially because the boys had worked so hard all tournament and in that first half, but the boys and coaching staff did the club and themselves proud.
Definitely looking forward to next year as I believe we are only losing 3 players, 1 of which was a starter and captain (Gianni) so hopefully we keep that group together and go 1 step further next year.
Well, here we go again - seems like just last week that we were playing the finals
I have just sent out the paperwork for this years' Lotto U19 Tournament.
If your club hasn't heard anything and you think they should be involved, contact me on [email protected]
There is a women's group this year - unfortunately we have had to restrict it to 8 teams.

Sorry to disappoint you (and Chopah), Onehunga Sports declined the invitation to attend. There was no thoughts of a ban. Should there have been?

Yeah I only liked the post because I had heard that rumour as well. Not fussed either way.
Shame really as they have so many good youth players
guess it makes a few players available to fill guest players spots at other clubs then
