Depends if Christchurch Utd have employed someone to do their admin :D
How many teams or clubs to get stung with lack of ability to check transfers done past 28/03.
Can anyone update the transfer page to take in April?
As I hear today one club has only had two senior player transfers confirmed.
Also a ground change not confirmed on the snapshot as of 5pm, don't know why it wasn't correct in the first place as all other home games down on what is a home pitch not some other clubs base.

What ground change? Only 2 CCL games are Parklands and Halswell both at home and these are correct on the snapsho
tough old league this one possibly more so than mpl. as for the rams splashing the cash clearly not working its ok throwing money at players but needs to be the right ones.
waimak clearly had game plan that almost paid off and good luck to them
Scoring goals was always going to be a concern once you lose a proven goal scorer to ferrymead
Please tell me you haven't just called Juan Chang a proven goal scorer...
Sorry I forgot the lol
Very talented. Could hit Row Z a metre out from Goal.
So this happened..

Chch United verses Western being played Tuesday evening
Family function across town had me get to see close to half of each of both games today.. After having the worst steak ever for lunch at the Tai tap pub i stopped by halswell domain to watch the first 45 before heading to parklands on my way home. burwood came out firing following mondays upset, but halswell gained the upper hand as the half went on and looked by far the better. Left with halswell leading 1-0 but should have been at least 5 up if had taken half of the clear chances they created. their front 3 has pace to burn and look extremely dangerous, was surprised to see it end up 3-2! Saw the last 35mins of parklands game, parklands play that pitch and conditions well, waimak as I saw last week looked very defensive and were made to pay! Looked like they were hungry and wanted it more than waimak today, congrats to parklands! Already seeing that this league will throw surprises left right and center, will come down for me as to who is more consistent across a looong 20 games to take out the title!
So far the league certainly seems more competitive than previous years which is good to see

Loving that it is, certainly makes for good games to watch. From what I saw last year and so far this year the quality has also lifted. can someone confirm why the united v western game is played on a tuesday night, seems very strange
Christchurch Utd have requested that all home games are played on a Friday evening, but away teams have to agree to this. I would imagine Western declined to play on Friday but offered Tuesday (which is no doubt a training night anyway) as an alternative
we agreeed to Friday games but when the draw came out it was down as Saturday, they informed us on Tuesday that it was a mistake
So Tuesday was the alternative
Knew there would be some logical reason Broonie :)
So mainland results are showing Chch Utd and Waimak as 0-0 in week 1. Any reason for this?
Isn't it weird how there are only 4 teams in Div 5, 8 teams in Div 6, and then teams 10 in Div 7???

OK not CCL but on the same lines as you Vim.
What about SAS going direct to Div1 for a start. Mainland had a paddy when Burwood wanted to start higher up the grades seems getting new build of change shed and a sand based pitch must make things Ok with the Fed.

obviously a compromise as they didn't get a spot in CCL. Opens up the door now for any other teams/clubs to do it next year. Should never have been allowed

Did they apply too late for CCL as surely more teams should be encouraged to join?

Not sure
SAS seemed happy to be in CCL but not allowed by Colin Grant as would have a bye in that league.
So yes a compromise may have been the case as no Hurunui this year in Div 1 so a gap to fill.
Hoping for a few updates from the Utd vs Western game tonight. Was going to go but jesus it's terrible out there.

Oh dear. Like Liverpool, there's always next year.
Hoping for a few updates from the Utd vs Western game tonight. Was going to go but jesus it's terrible out there.
Unless in the last few weeks they have build something out of nothing, Won't be much fun at Yaldhurst with no showers or changing rooms.
Not really like Liverpool. They are scoring for fun. CU can't score. Maybe they need Chang back.

So yes a compromise may have been the case as no Hurunui this year in Div 1 so a gap to fill.
Looking at the results from Div 2 may have been a better option to have asked Mid Canterbury - won 11 - 2 (or any other side that had been in Div 2 for a while) if the wanted to replace Hurunui,

That's fair, but my email is very long.
The gist is my club raised the issue on how come SAS go straight into Div 1 and not start at the bottom, as the policy for the last 20 years. My club were rebuffed twice in the last 5 years for trying the same thing. We were quoted "The integrity of the competitions needs to be kept" and the like. As well any gaps in higher Divisions are filled by teams from lower Divisions on request by Mainland and offered in the order that teams finished in the previous season. Emailed Mainland about this (supported by 10 other clubs at least). Mainlands response - trying to be flexible, transparent, CCL opened up places for other 1st teams than MPL, no one asked to go into Div 1 (my answer - difficult when no idea of what is happening).

I was only taking the piss, but thanks for sharing.
Strange set of circumstances that isn't it? Especially if the other clubs hadn't been asked if they wanted to go in there. I remember the uproar when Burwood wanted to go into the division but has managed to work it's way up. Even beating Chch Utd!

Burwood didn't work up the divisions they had one year imc in the lower grades and then went to CCL.
It was not just Mainland putting SAS in Div1 and bugger the rest, SAS had stated they would go in CCL if not allowed higher up than Div7.
Mid Canterbury or other clubs with no MPL or CCL teams had not requested to be in CCL, so no byes wanted in CCL.
Mainland for once got the call correct imo. Helps justify the council spend on new sand based senior pitch etc at St Albans Park.
No I don't play for SAS.

In regards to Mid Canterbury there is big talk coming out of the region. A MPL player now working down there along with a couple of young English farmers in the region for the year. Still got the South American contingent too. Early days but promotion has already been mentioned.

Read the records please:
2013 - Burwood in the new Under 21 grade but the low number of teams made this competition untenable. Just after half way through the year they were placed in Division 4 for the remaining part of the year only. Won it (but not allowed to go up).
2014 - two Senior teams in Division 6. The A team wins thrashing all (except the Burwood B team). Same year beat Waimak United (Div 1) in the Chatham Cup.
2015 - 3 Senior teams, PDL, Division 5, Division 6. The A team again easily winning Div 5 (not helpful for any teams).
2016 - CCL now available, finished 4th of 6 teams.
And so on.
Many clubs have complained about the SAS decision - Mainland have not followed precedents. Seems to me that one person at Mainland is making these decisions (any mates of his at SAS)?.
The fact is the situation over Burwood was handled poorly. The football in Christchurch really does not warrant a strict promotion / relegation in the lower leagues. This seems a more sensible move and hopefully an indication of more realistic decisions.
Surely the aim is for good competitions at all levels and SAS looked up to this standard on Saturday.
If Burwood's situation had been handled similarly they may well have been in MPL by now!
Agreed, Burwood got hard done by, common sense should have prevailed, and maybe it has finally done now.
Perhaps a bit more transparency would have helped when making and communicating this decision.

Stand corrected, can't read the records anymore as Mainland/NZF have trashed them otherwise I would've had a look before posting hence the imc [If memory correct] as for U21 yes Burwood not the only club dumped in it that season.
No mates at Mainland unless Mainland staff all go out for cakes at Kids Cakes. The new pitch makes the asking or what ever easier to justify.
Are Burwood having problems keeping the youth players as what is a lad that is/was at Shirley Boys High and Burwood moving to Nomads for? Not the closest club unless he's moved to Casebrook.
Is this because of no real ambition form Burwood to take the next step and get to the top end of CCL?
You could've looked at Nomads for players to help with experience of MPL/Nat League level to help the younger lads bridge the gap to the top of CCL and beyond.
Seems to me that SAS could have that ambition as have gone and grabbed two or three of last years Nomads MPL players who wanted a new challenge/position and still have a competitive kick around on a Saturday.
silly move not leaving a ccl club for a mpl club, add to that a pitch like Clare Park and you would be a moron not to leave if you were half decent and aspired to playing higher

As I have been told the bulk of the SAS team were at FC Twenty11 - maybe Div 3 last season and moved across to SAS, at one stage was talk of SAS taken FC spot in Div 3 but this did not happen, no doublt FC would not have been to happy if this was the case.
Was also told one of the main reasons for moving to a new club was the players wanted to contest / taste the Chatham Cup and that was not going to happen unless they went to a 'new' club rather then an existing club that usually enters the Chatty Cup.
SAS last entered the Cup in 1995, In Round 1 drew with North Beach Parklands 1 - 1 advancing 7 - 6 on pens before exiting the cup in the next round going down to Shamrock 5 - 0.
What are the requirements around clubs in the CCL?
Do they need a reserve team?
