Coastal 1 Western 1. Halswell 1 Tech 4. Bays 4 FC 1. #chchmpl
Bays or Nelson? One too many DB's mate?
Tech only won 3 - 1 and Suburbs 4 FC 1 Gagame Feni 2 goals in his first MPL game of the season with Ryan (Skippy) Stewart opening the scoring with Sean Parkes the other goal.
Tech looked to be heading to the break one down but scored twice in the two minutes of added time to go in 2 - 1 up.
So Nomads v Bays put back to 12pm tomorrow at ASB due to conditions apparently....
Think the problem may be the fact the Council opened the pitches at Tullet when they shouldn't have..... Teams turned up today from what I heard only for it to be postponed.... Why would either team want to postpone it whilst they were there?
Oh and don't forget that little thing called rain that happened over night and this morning.... but don't let that get in the way of sticking a boot in ;)

Was told by a Nomads offical that was OKed by two of the match officials at 12:30pm but ruled out by the referee when he arrived from Ashburton later on.
The Div 1 title race may be all over as Mid Canty played out a scoreless draw with University, the game between Waimak and ChCh United not played due to a water logged pitch at Kaiapoi.

In Div1 if Waimak win all their remaing games will catch United. I hear that NZ Football are likely to announce the outcome of Universities appeal sometime this week so maybe a few twist and turns yet to come.
How late was the equalishing goal Vim.
FC closer to the drop, maybe only hope is to lift the shield against Bays in Friday night and then hold on to it for the remainder of the season, that may give them enough point. No pressure.
Cant remember if I've asked this before - Most likely have but I'm old. But with FC looking like being relegated, will that mean the current Div 1 team will have to move down as well? Also Selwyn Div 1 played FC with a 4-4 draw resulting.
^ Wait, what?
AW82: Equaliser was 5 mins to go I reckon.
Dragoon: Yes FC div one will only have one team surely. However stranger things have happened.

Not going to be played tomorrow but likely to be Wednesday 24 July at ASB

Someone should maybe tell the council that. Tullet looks ok for the pitches from a distance, but the second you step closer it is clear it's under water.... which is why the Women's Div 2 game was postponed this morning. Do the council not actual go close enough to check this and just look from the road or guess?
Scottie Rd sorry to hear your volunteer time was soured by the braying hordes. I was hoping things would settle down a bit because of the very poor publicity our code has had in the last 10-12 weeks. Most people if pushed will say "the standard of reffing needs to improve", but why will people help out / give it a go if they cannot get sideline support? It's a race to the bottom.
re: weather. Not promising for Inter-Fed's Mon + Tues is it. Fingers crossed something can be worked out.
Coastal Women ; yup massive result v Cash-Tech plus got it without playing the strongest XI . Go, go , go

will be seat of the pants stuff but hopefully all the kids get a run.
following week is Japan Cup in Asburton IIRC tue - wed - thu
might have a look at 1 day... think Coastal have their club (12's) in. Been to a few 12D1 games this season and found it enjoyable but in parts also of very high quality. Good to see younger (read; not parents ) coaching it too.
A few 14th grade/Nike Cup potential squads up to Nelson in week 2 of the Holidays also for a tournament.... FC Twenty, Cash Tech and Nomads included.....
Cash Tech are sending their very strong 13's to Auckland next week as well. Be real good for them, been perhaps the strongest single team for a couple of seasons now.
also well done to Mainland for getting some football in today plus the Women's U-20 trial
good job in trying circumstances.
Tony Smith's in love with Webby!
