Speaking of 'older' Wests players, are Panzer, Edge and Sippola still playing for the first team?

Harry seems to have been injured for most of the season thus far.
Panzer is down in the cap prem at the moment, as in Sippola.

Twitter implies that Mar were down to 10 men by the 9th minute! Sounds bonkers.

who was the decent tall big bellied lad playing at the back for CL on Sat?
Comet suggests harry did play, but if you're talking about the two centre backs, i am guessing it was Faber & Pijnaker.

ah must be confusing Pijnaker and Panzer I guess. WHich is the one what was TW for five minutes?

Edge was playing and you're right about the CBs
North Wellington won again 2-1 over KCU
Petone went down 2-0 at home to Upper Hutt City
that means North Wellington could win the league next weekend, if they beat Island Bay at home and Petone lose or draw against Western Suburbs.
If Petone win then it'll come down to the next weekend where North Wellington visit Petone!
at the bottom there are still only 5 points separating the bottom four of Island Bay (15), KCU (13), Lower Hutt (11), Olympic (10)
Petone lost 3-1 to Wests after being up 1-0 at half time. Can't see North Wellingtons score in Comet yet but if they have won, then they have won the league.

not seen the score but Cap football just tweeted out that North Wellington have won the league

1st leg is 2.30pm 18th August at Alex Moore Park, Johnsonville
2nd leg 2.30pm 25th August at Memorial Park, Palmerston North
Welcome back Palmerston North Marist
what is this about a ball going through a hole in the net for Oly v Petone ?
Oh dear. Every refs nightmare. Some grounds nets are worse than others (looking at you, Boyd Wilson!)
Seth Ward scored apparently. Impossible to determine how the game might have gone. Replay?
I've heard from an Olympic player, definite goal. He said them and the Petone players were shocked the officials hadn't called it a goal.
Was a close game for sure! Petone seemed to seal it after their 2H penalty tho...
what is this about a ball going through a hole in the net for Oly v Petone ?
Yep, the Petone players, management, supporters, ball kids & likely even the folks watching from the Bob Scott retirement village could see it was a legitimate goal for Olympic....shocking.
Its probably the fastest Jake Piper has moved in years getting over there to tape up the offending hole !
Google this dude and he has a farken impressive CV. Has he been with NW all season?
"Other results saw North Wellington beat Upper Hutt City 3-1 thanks to a Kiernan Hughes-Mason hat-trick, while Western Suburbs’ reserves beat Miramar’s reserves 5-3"

The last game of the season LH 1 v Olympic 10 has been amended to LH 3 - 0 as Olympic fielded a player who had played one to many CL games.
This reversal switches the Olympic & Kapiti Coast positions at the bottom of the table
Ouch, I know that's the rules but that's unlucky for last game of season to put the player over and reversing a result like that. Going to make it interesting when it comes time to do the sorting of who goes up and down after the Central League playoff
If Jville are promoted, Oly rezzies will be safe. If PNM are promoted, Oly go down.

what are people's thoughts on the 12 game rule?
what are people's thoughts on the 12 game rule?
I can see how it would be abused but I think limiting it to 3 mitigates the unfairness of it enough that the 12 game rule has no real effect but to trip people up and lose points - obviously I'm in a position where removing the rule would help me, I'm sure others like the rule as it stops me adding good players to my squad! Happy to be proven wrong.

ah i dont really know what that all means. Women's Prem? that is still going? you saying you have six more weeks of Div1??

My ideal rule would be more along the lines of if a players has played 33% of a teams games to date then they are tied to that team and you can drop a max of 3 tied players per week. So if it was week 2 I could drop down 3 players that played 1st team in week 1 plus any that didn't play. If its week 10 I could drop down 3 players that have played at least 3 games for the 1st team, plus any that haven't played 3 games.
I feel that would hit the balance Cap Football is looking for better than the new or old rules.

W-League (6 teams)
Women's Prem (8)
Women's Div 1 (10)
Div 2 (8)
Div 3 (idk)
We have 3 league games and up to 2 cup games remaining (different eligibility rules for those though), the 1st team have their final game on Sunday. 2 of those league games are being played midweek to allow the Executive Plate and Kelly Cup finals to both be September 2.
why have you played less games than others?
is the rule for the cup just that you can't play in two cups ie Kelly and Plate?
this is your Prem. Can we say you haven't planned well?

And yes, my understanding is that that is the cup rule - excelpt if a 1st team player played KS CUp that has no effect on Executive plate elegibility, only Kelly/Executive Plate do.
The rule isn't having a massive effect on my team, its not hamstringing our season and I wouldn't even necessarily drop 3 first team players down unless I had to (my current squad is 16 wins 1 draw from 17 games and some of the eligible players on that list wouldn't improve my team), just giving an opinion on the rule itself and how it could be improved and tried to put it in a real life context.
ok cool.
One thing that is needed for the rule is a managed approach from the club. Maybe make Alex aware of that. It can't 'trip you up' if you look at the CF stats.
And the rule for Cup comp is that they can only play in one - and it has been like that for about five years after some teams were playing the same squad in both.
