What a knock, unbelievable. Instant legend over here.
Its Summer! - the Fever Cricket Thread. (Part 2)
Slightly dissapointed for him, but also very happy as I have money with a mate on that the Aussies will score less than 5 centuries over the series.
He's no No. 11 that's for sure. That late cut he played off Swann...
Apparently Ravi Shrasti debuted at No.10 in test cricket and then within 18 months was opening...
Lets hope the Aussies stick it to the Poms on the 3rd day.
It's a pity that Aussie bloke seems somewhat likeable otherwise I would have revelled in the whole "out for 98" thing. Pretty damn impressive.

Yeah, I really was hoping he'd get that ton too, even though it made me feel slightly dirty wanting an Aussie cricketer to succeed. Liked the fact that he and Hughes were so low key about it - a bare minimum of glove punching, none of the tear-off-your-helmet-leap-up-and-punch-the-air type celebrations that are de rigueur in the modern game. Just a handshake and a pat on the back, like the good old days.
Wot a game of cricket. Just 20 needed. Please England...
Haha quite tense!
Wow really? Brutal finish! Would've said inconclusive but probably fitting for this match.
Pretty sure he hit it...TEST BLOODY CRICKET. LOVE IT.
Yeah probably, thought it would require certainty to overturn is all. Hell of a test, had a bit of everything!
You just can't beat test cricket.
Had to head to bed after the extended first session, bit gutted to miss the end. Just a shame the final wicket was a DRS result, would have been nice for such a tight test to be finished in a more definitive way.

I was a wreck at work yesterday. Partly because I occasionally get two day hang overs these days but mostly because I didn't get to sleep it off properly on sunday night. Can't wait to do it all again from Thursday.

+ infinity
I concur

Apart from with football
So a few rumours starting to fly about association contracts for the coming season. Jesse to Otago the first confirmed big move which I think will be good for him. Carl Cachopa to ND and Tipene Friday to Auckland.
In the Ashes the poms probably have to upper hand but if not for a good spell from Steve Smith (would you believe it) they would have been in a real dominant postition thanks to Bell again.
Yeah heard the Cachopa deal is off, with Skippy retiring there's a bigger contract on the table for him at CD.
Oh yeah fair enough then. I guess it's never final until it's final with guys hearing what they are being offered at their current association then putting the feelers out for a better deal if possible. Must be a few other surprises coming out soon.
Buchanan....... gawn!
Day 2:
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Quite amazing to see how far the Aussie team have fallen away...shows how good that mid-90s early 00s team was...this top order aren't fit to tie Hayden's, Langer's, M. Waugh's etc boots...never thought I'd live to see the day really...
Aussies are getting Rooted
Got a free ticket to Day One of the Oval Test in the ballot at work. Such a sweet result.
Some interesting chat in the media over here at the moment about what point that thrashing Australia becomes a bit boring and people would like to see a contest. I don't think i'll ever get bored of Australia being really rubbish.

was thinking of writing a letter to suggest that the much more competitive New Zealanders should in future be granted 5 test series
This popped up on my twitter feed today
The thing with that is, its been used to make fun of Clarke. When in fact its about the same as matt prior. Its also the 2nd best success rate on that list (by a mile as well). Unless I'm missing something?
It actually makes me think of an interesting point about DRS, the batting side actually has a lot less information available to them than a fielding side, the batsman basically has to rely on their teammate at the other end who is on a bad angle for decisions. Whereas the fielding side has a lot more players, the keeper and the bowler of which as both in better positions to judge than an opposite batsman.
Wouldn't actually mind seeing similar stats with bowlers, to see if the success rates are higher and back my theory up.

Man, that's a bad DRS call. No wonder Khawaja is ropeable...won't hear the end of that...
And it's that Kiwi ump Tony Hill again. LOL.
DRS starting to ruin this series. It's all it's gonna be remembered for.
